We offer an intimate and authentic Japanese Omakase Dining Experience. Specializing in high quality sashimi, nigiri and traditional Japanese delicacies. (Sorry, no saucy rolls) Enjoy craft sake tasting, Japanese art and a traditional ambiance. We recommend making reservations in advance as seating is limited and plan for a 2 hour experience.
First of all, it is extremely difficult to make a reservation. π

The service is absolutely excellent! And it is not bad at all to enjoy your omakase on the patio. They have an under table heater so you won't feel cold.πππ
Parking is only street parking.
This humble looking Japanese restaurant is actually a Michelin One Star.
The only way to make a reservation is via their reservation partner. They will send you an email notification like two hours ahead of your reservation.
However, you have to really "fast hand" to confirm your reservation. If you are like a sloth, you will never be able to complete your reservation.π€π€π€
And, they will charge a despite of $25/ person when the reservation is confirmed.

I really wish I could give Soichi more than 5 stars because everything was beyond amazing. We sat at one of the tables outside which was such a vibe.
I highly recommend ordering one of the Omakase meals because they will bring out the chefβs picks for each course. Every single plate we received was incredible. The servers did an excellent job at explaining what each dish was.
10/10 recommend - itβs definitely worth the hype.

Absolutely exceptional! I am visiting SD for a work trip, and went to SOICHI after asking a local for a sushi recommendation. I got the Nigiri Omakase and it was worth every dollar. The staff were so friendly, each dish and piece of sushi was an experience, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was wonderful. I am really glad I treated myself to this for my final meal here. The restaurant itself is small, so make a reservation well ahead of time. I took a gamble by going without on, and fortunately they were able to accommodate me at an outdoor table, but seating is limited, so plan ahead. Sit at the bar for an enhanced experience (I was able to watch the chefs through the window here and there, but I felt a bit like a voyeur haha). Seriously, such a great place.

Michelin star must try. The evening couldnβt have been better. We drove by and on a whim and stopped by this place not knowing it was a Michelin restaurant. Very intimate venue with 2 tables outside, 3 tables inside, and the sushi bar. We asked if there was availability for 2 and we were advised they were booked for the night. We walked outside to contemplate our next move when to our surprise said they could fit us in within about 30 min. They called me in less than 30 min to tell me the table was ready and seated us. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. After ordering an item we were checked in on and then made recommendations based on our likes. The food was AMAZING! This is a must try and they only open up the books once a month on the first of the month to book a spot for the next month. We got super lucky to get a chance to try out this great spot and will for sure be back.

I was skeptical about Michelin restaurants especially for any Asian restaurants. Boy was I wrong.
To my surprise, it was a complete 5 stars omakase experience! Don't expect to be able to just walk in and have a meal. You will need at least 2 months in advance reservation. Everything was cooked to perfection and unique. Sashimis were fresh. Staff and chefs were all friendly. Note: sip on the sake. Yes they serve high quality sake, and it tastes so good, but you would want to slow down. Don't make my mistake..

It was just a beautiful, tasty, artful experience. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and feels straight out of Japan. The staff are attentive and kind. The reservation system is annoying, but once you get in it makes sense. They have a tiny seating capacity and I believe that's critical to the quality of their food.
You have to get the full 2hr omakase. It's an incredible journey from start to finish. I've had sushi all over the world, this is some of the best I've ever tasted. If you sit at the bar (which you must try and do) you can watch their three sushi chefs prepare the fish right in front of you. If you're not used to Japanese flavors and textures, definitely come with an open mind! Most of the pieces they serve aren't the norm in American Japanese restaurants.
I went for my birthday and the chef pulled a guitar out of nowhere and serenaded Happy Birthday with the staff. I've been twice and it's absolutely worth the price tag.

So glad we finally got to try this place after living in the area for over 7 years but never being able to get a reservation.
Price of omakase was comparable to other places, but a lot more courses than I have gotten at other sushi restaurants.
Honestly, there's too many good things to say about this place. The hype is real. Go try it yourself because it's absolutely worth it. Reservations fill up within an hour, so make sure you're ready to go when they open.

I love to test Japanese restaurants by ordering the omakase meal. We sat at the counter of this tiny restaurant. Our chef served us each one piece of sushi or sashimi at a time. You know you have struck gold when you have to close your eyes to savour the party in your mouth with each piece! The ambience was lovely, quiet and authentic. The chefs explain each item of food they prepare, with charm whilst remaining unobtrusive. It was like being in Kyoto all over again ( for my family and me).

It would be unconscionable of me to have eaten here and not rave about how great the experience was. My friend and I stopped in recently to thoroughly try their food, and we couldnβt have been more impressed or delighted. The service was absolutely top notch, matched only by their food. This place is on par with the best sushi houses in NYC, and I havenβt said that in 15 years of living here. We fortunately chose βomekase,β which is where the knowledgeable sushi chef chooses your meal adventure for you. We were educated on what we were eating, told of its origin and culinary significance, encouraged to pair flavors, and generously, thoroughly thrilled with every miraculous bite. At one point, my buddy said to me, βI feel like a god.β It was not an exaggeration. We couldnβt believe how consistently fine many of the items placed before us were. The multitude of thoughtfully-conceived flavors was impressive, the texture of every bite was meticulous perfection, the presentation was immaculate, and we were invited to try several beverages to enhance the flavors, which we were happy to oblige. The decor was simple but elegant, present to provide a backdrop for the main event, which was without a doubt the excellent fare. I forgot what a phone or a camera was for about an hour and a half, so youβll have to excuse the lack of pictures, but suffice it to say that even sharing pictures of the food would fall as short as dancing about architecture would. The meal was not inexpensive, but this is not a some discount sushi; this was one of the finest and most complete dining experiences Iβve had in over a decade, and I would gladly partake again. (Thinking about the meal, to think of prices feels vulgar.) Be prepared for an absolutely stunning and fully-engrossing experience while dining at this show-stopping restaurant. I donβt hand out 5 stars easily, but this one is beyond worthy.

An amazing experience all around, Rachel and Soichi have created a one of a kind restaurant. The food was exquisite but what stood out the most was the community / friendly atmosphere. Soichi personally sang happy birthday to 6 people while we were there, his voice would make angels cry. Shout out to our chef Ryo, a true artist.

This place was a little disappointing for the price point. We did an omakase - $110 per person. The appetizers and nigiri were delicious. The last two courses were underwhelming, we didn't really like them nor did they stand out. For two people, our bill came out to $500 with drinks and tip. For a price like that, I would hope to be blown away, and we were not. I've had much better omakase for less.

This was my first solo dining experience on my trip to San Diego.
I had gotten the full omakase, and everything was just exceptional. I really am unsure of what my favorite course was because all had their own unique flavors and were just so fresh!
The servers were extremely nice, and I want to give a big shout out to chef Daniel. He was very kind with his conversations and made it feel as if I was not dining alone.

Soichi blew me away! I had the full omakase and everything was so good. The staff is extremely nice and the service is amazing. I don't think we waited more than 2 minutes for the next course. 5 stars all around. Thank you Soichi for being my favorite restaurant in San Diego to dine at for the last 5 years. They are consistent in providing stellar sushi, friendly service with a smile, great hospitality, and a fun but chill ambiance. If it's your birthday, the chef will make you feel extra special with a serenade. They also consistently provide gluten free omakase at the restaurant; I feel just as welcomed as any other diner.
Thank you always.

This place was recommended by an acquaintance. I came in and was asked if I had a reservation...uh...no. The host talked to the man at the middle of the sushi bar. The host said "You have 54 minutes...is that ok?" I said sure. The BEST 54 minutes of dining I ever had ensued! Soichi was the man in the middle...what a chef...what a gentleman...what an experience. Reservations are 2 mo the out and he accommodated my ignorance and hunger. This place is WELL WORTH the wait...although I did not have to.

Was not able to book a table. The carry-out food was not as good as expected. Very disappointed. The rice of the sushi tasted way too sour compare to other sushi restaurants. Miso soup was terribly salty. Did not taste anything above average on the fish/sea urchin part either. Donβt understand how come this can be the taste of a Michelin restaurant. If the restaurant just focus on the service and Omakase dining, please donβt bother to offer carry-out orders for such a ridiculously high price, below average taste, and small portion.

Honestly not worth the hype and Iβm disappointed. We waited ~15min with reservation and service is just okay. Sashimi are fresh but unfortunately the dishes are not impressive. One of the uni pieces on my nigiri was spoiled. Since the place is small itβs loud in there. Verdict: while $150 is a fair price, there are better omakase at this price point.

My wife and I both had the full Omakase prepared by chef Soichi! The food and service was amazing, the experience was incredible. We will definitely come back the next time we visit San Diego. We joined the waitlist on Tock for a table and got an email the day before saying that a reservation had opened up. Chef Soichi told us that Tock sometimes doesnβt track the reservations well and itβs always best to call for a last minute reservation.

A dining experience that is truly a cut above the rest. The staff are friendly, accommodating, attentive, and sincere. The chefs are funny, personable, and make some mean Japanese food. The quality of the fish is honestly second to none, most of it is flown in from Japan, and the difference is obvious when you taste it.
Chef Soichi is a fantastic guy, who comes out from behind the counter with his guitar to hang out and sing happy birthday to his guests. Reservations are tough to get, and with good reason, itβs always a great visit.

Came here the other night for dinner.
(+) Vibe. Very cute little restaurant with the sushi bar and a few tables along the walls.
(+) Service. Pretty on top of things and friendly. There were a few times I think the server didn't notice something and the sushi chef said something in Japanese and she would come over quickly.
(+) Food. We got the $150 omakase, and it's a great deal! You get a good amount of kitchen dishes but also a good amount of nigiri. Fish is fresh, had some cool fish types we haven't had before. Sushi chef was super nice and chatted with us a good amount.
Would definitely come again.

Very disappointed with our experience. Let me preface and say the food was very good - but that was it for us.
We arrived around 8:30 and ordered the omakase. We waited and waited, watched as people who came in after us received course after course. After waiting 45 minutes and mentioning it to multiple people, our server must have realized he never put in our order. No apology, nothing - nobody cared. It was so rude. Meanwhile, we were seated next the host stand where some visitors (friends of the hostess perhaps) stood for at least 30 minutes enjoying their takeout food. It was NOT an experience of a Michelin star restaurant. Sushi Takadoro was far superior. Food was great - so if you donβt care about service, go enjoy.

Menu Ordered:
-Full Omakase Experience
-"Silk Dragon" Kuzuryu Daiginjo Sake (Highly Recommended)
Overall Experience:
The dining experience at this establishment exceeded all my expectations in terms of food quality, ambiance, and service. The pricing was remarkably reasonable, considering the exceptional quality and meticulous care evident in each dish. I will certainly be back.
Course Dishes:
Each course was a showcase of the chef's commitment to culinary excellence. The attention to detail in every dish was palpable, showcasing a harmonious blend of seasoning, sauces, and the freshness of ingredients. The chef's skill in balancing flavors and textures was prominent throughout the meal.
Nigiri:
The Nigiri selection was particularly noteworthy, featuring high-quality neta and a symphony of flavors. Each piece was a masterful display of the chef's artistry in enhancing and decorating the neta's flavors, crafting an unforgettable and uniquely flavorful dining experience.

Just had takeout from Soichi. Had high expectations when they said they are fully booked for the next two months and after reading Google reviews. I ordered Takeout Nigiri Box A and C along with Mixed Tempura. Not sure if itβs because it was takeout, but I found the quality of sushi to be quite disappointing. For take out, itβs good but it wasnβt anywhere near my expectations. The portions are quite small. The tuna was slightly fishy. Uni tasted great, but again portion was quite small. Weirdest part was the shrimp sushi (not in pic it was a part of my fiancΓ©βs order). It was so dry. My fiancΓ© and I both spit it out which we never do. It didnβt taste rotten or look bad, but it had no flavour whatsoever and had the texture of cardboard. But the shrimp in the tempura was sweet and juicy so itβs quite confusing. Overall, Iβm left feeling very underwhelmed. If this is a representation of the quality of dine in at Soichi, I would not recommend going at their current price.

This was possibly one of the greatest food experiences of my life. I've had seafood and sushi my whole life and this was everything I hoped for in a omakase sushi bar experience.
We were a 2 person party that got lucky as a wait list (was alerted earlier in the day), getting to sit at the sushi bar. We ordered the full omakase and Nigiri omakase. Side note, we got a bottle of wine for only $38 which is wildly cheap for a Michelin starred restaurant. Also the staff were considerate enough to tell us how long the meal would take if we did the omakase.
From start to finish, it was an amazing experience. The starter was a 4 part appetizer that helps when you feel the hungriest. As someone who's grown up around japanese food, every dish was surprisingly Elevated, flavorful and polished beyond what I've had before. The most special part was Chef Rio making the nigiri course right in front of us, explaining each piece, showing the steps that make it so much more than what it looks, helping to make this a comfortable, intimate, unique and engaging experience. Chef Soichi was right next to Chrf Rio, taking the time to introduce himself, singing while cooking, sang happy birthday to another group while playing a guitar, and personally shaking everyone's hands when we left. What an incredibly personable, talented and comforting man.
I have always wanted this experience, and it's overwhelming to have Soichi fulfill every step of it. Dishes were brought timely, servers were on time for every step, the atmosphere feels like a small local joint that doesn't go through the tense air that fancy restaurants tend to have. It speaks on the quality of the food that really was a step above all sushi I've ever had and the warmth of the whole staff. I can't thank the Soichi staff, Chef Soichi and Chef Rio enough for making my dreams come true.

Soichi is not our first Omakase experience, but it is the first one in San Diego that we have had. And what an amazing experience it was!
Getting a reservation is key, especially if you want the bar. Our server was Marlon, and we told him we had just moved to SD and were celebrating our engagement anniversary. He was SO friendly and a willing conversationalist; we talked about everything from Ratatouille to the skeletal systems of the fish he was preparing. Not only that but Soichi himself also conversed with us and served us a little bit of sake. What a personality! Great presence, but humble and easy to talk to. The staff was amazing at welcoming us, taking care of us, and making sure we were enjoying our meal at every step.
But if the staff was anything to appreciate, the food was even more spectacular. My husband and I have been together since college, so weβve eaten Omakase in the Bay Area and Japan, but Soichi served us one of the best Omakase experiences on the West Coast. Our favorites were their black throated sea perch, amberjack, scallop, shrimp (and fried shrimp head!), salmon, trigger fish, and golden eye red snapper; the snapper is so renowned that they sell a t-shirt of it, which we bought because we enjoyed it so much. All of the ingredients were presented beautifully β check the photos of you donβt believe me. But in addition to that, the fish was very fresh and prepared thoughtfully. The Omakase menu lets you really appreciated everything the seas of Japan have to offer.
We paid for the $150 full experience, but added on two flights of sake ($28 each flight for 3 different sakes) and 4 additional nigiris each. It was a full meal! But we were so pleased with the service and care and quality of food that we ended up hanging around until we were the last customers in the restaurant. Soichi, this was our first visit but not our last.
Big thanks to Lorena, Marlon, and Soichi himself for making tonight as special as it was. Our engagement anniversary could not have been better spent. Hoping to come back soon!

Amazing omakase experience at the bar. Every bite was sublime. Very low key atmosphere. On par with my favorite high end Japanese in NYC. Will definitely go back.
Edit: return visit review... Wow. You know how when you love something and you repeat it a while later and sometimes you're disappointed because you had idealized the memory? Well, not here.... Had the Nigri omakase this time. Everything I had loved the first time was as good or better the second. Daniel was a delight the first time, Soichi san was amazing this time. Food was sublime again. Best sushi and dining experience of my life. Daniel our chef was a king

Amazing experience. Definitely get the omakase, worth the price. Reservations are tough to get, and deservedly so. Every dish was flawless and perfectly fresh, and the drink list was very extensive. It's great that they will let you sample sake before ordering, too.

Amazing food and staff. For our first time at Soichi, we tried the full omakase, which was such a fun experience. Martin was our chef, and he took great care of us β loved all the food, and we appreciated him explaining the different items to us. The other staff were also incredibly helpful β guiding us through picking a sake and ensuring we were well taken care of throughout the night. Weβre looking forward to coming back soon and trying some of the rolls offered outside the omakase menu!

Getting a reservation before the Michelin star was hard, now it's even harder. You have to be read, right at noon, to get one.
That being said, the food is amazing and the staff are super friendly! The ladies are very kind and super attentive. The chef and owner obviously love his work and the restaurant. Daniel makes a delicious sesame ice cream.
We got the omakase. Everything was delicious but the highlights were the firefly squid, the barracuda, the nodoguro, the grilled miso Chilean sea bass, the chawan mushi, and the ice cream.

Eating here completely changed my idea of how good sushi can be. Our chef, Daniel, mesmerized us with just his technique in preparing each course, and eating them was even better. The staff are all incredibly warm and friendly. I ordered the omakase and left full and satisfied while definitely getting my money's worth. As far as I know, sushi doesn't get much better than this!

Being a huge sushi fanatic, I was confused that I never heard about Soichi sushi before. It's been open for over 3 years in a quiet part of University Heights. Chef Soichi was originally a chef at another very popular sushi restaurant before he went off in his own and now he has received a Michelin star!
We sat outside and began ordering. I favor traditional nigiri and sashimi style sushi, because that is where you can really tell if it is quality fish. Well, Soichi has some of the best quality fish in town. Everything was great, and the price point wasn't very high. I was actually surprised how cheap the bill was when it came. Absolutely get the Toro.
Amazing.

Any view of the sushi is good!

Really good omakase for San Diego! Itβs not like what youβd find in NYC or LA, but itβs really good. Definitely some dishes that were more of a standout than others, so Iβd come back for the a la carte sushi. All of the omakase dishes are available a la carte so thatβs a good option if you donβt want to commit to all the courses or youβre just interested in a few things. For one person, the full omakase was $175 after tip, so definitely a bit of a splurge. Sushi chefs were friendly and knowledgeable. Service was super friendly, expect the full omakase to take around 2+ hours.

Good, not great. 3 courses with mackerel. Tofu twice, and I didn't get why. Umi and marinated tuna were excellent, but some sashimi were tasteless. Service was great, as was the selection of sake. But for the money, Tadokoro has better fish quality

You really have to be online at 12p when they open reservations on the first of the month. I LOVED my experience here, and it was well worth the wait. The Soichi omakase is the go-to 7 course experience, which includes a few cooked courses and a dessert. Nigiri came out in 4 sets and a variety of fish and flavors, but the egg custard was my fave course!

Some of the best sushi in San Diego. I strongly recommend getting the omakase, and just let Soichi make all the decisions for you!

The server was very nice but not very good at her job, the place was not very clean and most importantly some of the worst sushi Iβve ever had. It seems that since they got their star they went downhill and just decided to lower quality and increase price.
San Diegos isnβt famous for the food but they took it to another level!

I was super excited to finally get a Soichi reservation. You need to make sure to get a reservation right at noon on the first of the month. We had the full omakase and we also enjoyed a bottle of sake with our dinner. Everything was amazing. The sashimi plate was edible art. It was great sitting at the sushi bar watching everything being made. Incredible!

Prior to the Michelin star, this was a good restaurant. The chef has clearly been corrupted by the fame. They pretend to open reservations at noon on the first of the month, at which time there are a few on a single Wednesday around 4-5 pm. The dishonesty is really disgusting. The sushi is good but the experience of their time wasting and deceit, are not worth it. Don't waste your time.

This is worth the money! Food was incredible, flavorful, and fresh and our server was great. She even helped us pair sake to compliment the tasting. Will be back!

This amazing little nook is clearly the personal passion of a very dedicated family. Having spent some years in Japan, we noticed so many authentic flavors and found out that they do source many ingredients straight from family friends and connections back in Japan. Recommend reading up on the style of sushi Chef Soich specializes in so you can really appreciate how well done these dishes are.

We had the most wonderful time at Soichi. We shared the Omakase and ordered a salmon roll on the side. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the dining experience was something we will never forget. We wish it was easier to get another reservation, we will have to try again next month! If you are looking for next level sushi at a reasonable price with great service, Soichi is the place to go.

Incredible meal and experience with Chef Soichi. The quality here is unmatched in freshness, flavor, or presentation - it's seriously good. So good, that I braved the stunning odori ebi and Hokkaido uni (both challenging for my palate and cultural background), and I've been dreaming of succulent shrimp and sea urchins ever since. We were blown away by every single course, plus comfortably full by the end. Thank you Chef Soichi & team for one of the best meals of our life!

Soichi is a must experience! Book your reservation in advance as it may take up to two months for you to find availability but it is worth it. Donβt go there for having a quick lunch or dinner because if you go there to have a meal as if you are going to a restaurant, you may end up being disappointed! Go there to have the Soichi Experience! Enjoy your food, its presentation, its layered tastes, and peaceful and friendly environment, where they serve the food with delicacy.

By far, Best Sushi in San Diego, amazing experience every time. Make sure to sit at the bar and order an very well priced and delectable omakase courses.
I've been 5 times since moving here in February and let me just say this is tops any michelin star omakase course I've had in la or san fran. (especially at the price). Chef Soichi, Chef Daniel, and their amazing Rachel are the most hospitable people in the industry. Soichi is also a sake drinkers paradise with Chef Soichi's selection of premium sake there's no need to go anywhere else!
I'll be back many times!

I wanted to write a thank you letter as a review in recognition of how magical our experience was from even before we set foot in the restaurant to the finish because this restaurant has stole our hearts. First, the person working the phones Carolina. Thank you Carolina for accommodating our party of 7 when it wasnβt an option online and for making this possible. We would have never been able to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity if it wasnβt for your efforts so thank you for being so kind and friendly over the phone. Next to Amane our waitress. Thank you Amane for welcoming us as soon as we came through the door and showing us to our seats. Your knowledge on drinks, even though you are not of age, and on the food (source and origin) is incredible. More importantly, I wanted to thank you for noticing that my 2 year old needed another distraction to get through the evening and so you, without being prompted, brought us over a coloring set. That may have been a small gesture for you but for me and my wife, that made our evening so thank you for being so considerate and observant towards our needs. To the chefs Soichi-san and another talented chef we didnβt get a chance to speak to - if my family were to visit San Diego again, we would love to sit at the bar because, besides the food that you create which is already divine and otherworldly, you speak to us and engage with us in a way that make us feel like just old friends reuniting for some food and drinks. Thank you for creating such a warm atmosphere for the customers to enjoy. Lastly, the food. Obviously the big hitters like toro, hirame, uni donβt need any further introduction so I am going to touch on an underrated, underappreciated item - ginger. You know that side dish you get when you order sushi, yea that. If you hate ginger like me, just go here and try the ginger here - itβs nothing like you have had and will alter your opinion about ginger forever. And thatβs what this restaurant does - it either elevates your opinion of Japanese cuisine or changes it positively. Thank you Soichi sushi for making our out of state trip an one of kind experience. We will always cherish our memories here.

My boyfriend and I popped in to this place randomly. We knew nothing about the restaurant. The staff seated us immediately at a tiny table by the entrance which was ok. We got a look at the menu and were caught a bit off guard by the prices. This place was fancy! We came for a casual bite of sushi. I was kinda too embarrassed to leave on account that the hostess found the table and cleared it off for us. It was being used as a work station of some sort. Anyway we just decided to order some beers and eat. The waitress explained the saki menu and some of the specials. We ordered an βappetizer β. sampler plate and a few rolls. The sampler plate came and we had to keep from cracking up! Each sample was literally smaller then a Costco sample. The presentation was gorgeous but we couldnβt try all of the samples as each one was a single bite at best. Flavorful though. The rolls weβre actually pretty boring but the tempura plate was pretty good and portioned pretty well. Iβd go back for drinks and maybe a try of the sit down sushi bar- but for dinner I suggest you eat before you go in case your hungry. The interior was lovely except for the T-shirts for sale hanging from the wall behind us. That was kinda tacky. Actually when I think about it, it was a lot tacky. Bill was about 100$ not including tip.

We came there on Saturday at 8:00 pm and super excited to try the sushi because heard so Many good things. We both ordered the $135 omakase each and I was so disappointed and upset how fishy it was I gagged after eating the uni and 3 more pieces came out was very fishy too. The fish was not fresh. Not sure is it because our reservations was so late. We were so disappointed :(

Fantastic experience! Best Omakase and Nigiri Sushi I have tried by far!
I happened to check the Michelin guide on Wednesday and found this Soichi Sushi being a 1-star in San Diego. Then on Thursday afternoon I saw an available slot for one person that night and took it immediately. It turned out to be a sushi bar seat right in front of a younger chef and I watched his performance all night.
I think the nigiri sushi was the best. The fishes were super fresh. And the course consisted of 12 pieces to show variations. Also the raw shrimp in the sashimi was impressive.

Eating at Soichi was an amazing experience. The fish was so fresh and nothing like what I have had before. It may look simple but the way the chef prepares it and the freshness of the fish, not much is needed. Everything has the right balance and texture. The service and the great staff even made the experience more memorable. I can see why itβs so hard to get a reservation and why it deserves all the stars. So damn good. Highly recommended doing the full omakase.

Food was great. We could only get table reservations, so be warned, your nigiri will be sitting and come only when its ready for the whole table, in multiples, rather than one at a time like typical omakase. Your server will still explain each piece and dish, but it'd definitely nicer being at the bar. I've been told the servers here use too much perfume, and it's true, which doesn't make sense when diners are eating something as delicate as sushi. Sashimi plate felt a little lacking. The ice cream comes out rock solid at the end, so be prepared to wait a bit for your spoon to be able to push through. Overall, though they have a star, I've had better, but it definitely does not mean this place is bad.

Soichi Suchi is my idea of sitting in Heaven! Such a wonderful ambiance while dining on the most sensual taste treats ever. The whole experience is fun, absolutely delicious, and thrilling. Everyone on staff are so friendly, and Soichi takes the time to explain what you are eating. If it's your birthday, he even gets out his guitar to sing you Happy Birthday, and put a candle in your ice cream. Highly recommend!

Was in town for the weekend and decided to order take out on my last day. Was told they need your order emailed a few days prior. This would be okay if it was posted anywhere on their website but unfortunately it wasnt. Its an easy fix and I hope they update their website to prevent this from happening in the future

INCREDIBLE, Delicious and so much fun! We did the Omakase and loved the food and experience! This was my second visit to Soichi. The first was in late 2020 before their Michelin star, I did a walk in. This time around, we had to make a resy 4 months in advance! Likely because they got recently got a Michelin star, but well deserved! This is my new fave Omakase restaurant and the sushi chefs including staff are so much fun and nice! We already made our resy to return!

Sat at the sushi bar for dinner a few months back to celebrate a birthday and the whole experience was fabulous. All the courses were exquisite and we loved getting to interact with the sushi chef preparing our dishes. Everyone was so kind and helpful, especially when it came to helping us pick sake pairings- they have tons of great options. :) Canβt wait to get back to SOICHI! Thank you for an unforgettable meal!

Wow, unreal. Can't believe they are killing it like this in this neighborhood. So close to home and still it's my first time here. Skip jack, and the bluefin Torro are for sure the Allstars, but everything was perfect. Flavors, textures, temperatures, everything was on point. Daniel was our front and center sushi chef for the evening. Daniel, you rock, keep it up, you have a very bright future in the industry. Love it. Coming back

Amazing food and service. You must reserve months ahead. Did the Soichi omakase. We didn't get to sit at the bar since I didn't understand the seating options so we did not get to hang with the Chef. Again, it's cause I didn't understand the table options when I did the reservation online. Anyway, it's street parking only. Totally amazed with the flavor, quality and comfortably satiated.
