Vibes Sushi Bar and Grill Restaurant

The two rolls in the photos cost $40.51 through Door Dash. About $8 were fees. I walked in a few minutes before they were ready, so I know they were fresh, but my Soft Crab Roll had no flavor and a small portion size. About 70% of the flavor was the tempura/oil and barely got any seafood flavor out of it. The second roll was a Eel Roll, just as small, a bit more flavor, but definitely not worth the cost. It's sad the Staters Sushi is not only better flavor but cheaper too. We've had similar experiences in the past as well, about 4 times, and it's only gotten worse. Will not be coming back.

This was the closest sushi spot and honestly took me and my husband by surprise! EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD! Service was excellent & Vibing Roll is a must try. Bassam was on it with service props guys 👏👏

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant, YOU have to go! It’s a great spot with amazing food. The representation of a dish makes you feel you are in a 5 star hotel restaurant. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. Kids Friendly :) recommended dishes ( Bad Boys Roll was so good, Pearl Lulu if you like cucumbers, Beef Teriyaki)

Friendly staff.
Plenty of indoor seating.
Good size parking lot.
Ordered chicken katsu with rice.
What I ate there was good and I brought home two pieces of chicken.
Next morning took one to cut up and discovered it was raw😒
Thankfully the pieces I ate at restaurant weren't.
The other piece I took home was cooked.
Thinking it was a one off as my dinner mate's meal was all cooked.
I'd go again.

The food is delicious and fresh. Been in 4 times and I have been very happy each and every time with quality, portions and service. The tuna has been fresh each time. The tempura is not overwhelming with crunchies littered everywhere, good ratios if you ask me. I rarely give 5 stars if you look at my past reviews. This place is legit and I am super happy we have this option in Ramona because I dislike going down the hill. Thank you Vibes!

I love having date night or even just taking the kids for sushi here. The staff is so friendly and caring, and the sushi and presentation of the plates is top notch! Perfect sushi bar for the whole family to enjoy, even little kids who want a cheese burger wont be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and try the Bad Boys Roll!!!

FINALLY got to go to Vibes Sushi Bar & Grill. We originally stopped by here to see if they have veggie rolls for my husband, which they did and the Veggie Tempera Roll (sorry, no picture) was really good! But we stayed for the custom roll the sushi chef made, pictured below. I asked for a simple albacore roll but the gentleman, I wish I got his name, offered to make me something special. He asked what I like and disliked and made suggestion. And he created this beauty, albacore inside and out, along with avocado, cream cheese, and cucumber on the inside. Sprinkled with furikake and lemon, ponzu sauce, and spicy mayo on the side. The waitress and waiter that were there were so sweet as well. Thank you so much to the 3 magnificent Sunday afternoon staff members for making lunch deliciously memorable!

I ordered Tonkatsu Ramen and it is the worst I ever had. It tasted more like a top Ramen than a real Ramen soup. If you want to experience Japanese food, go to Convoy or Mira Mesa. To be fair, I have been ordering their sushi rolls and my daughter likes it that’s why I am giving 2 stars for.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Ramona on a road trip from Vancouver, Canada and decided to try this sushi place. We ordered take out and waited inside for the chef to prepare our food.

The gentleman who took our order was so kind, once we placed the order with him he let us wait at the bar and gave us some ice cold waters, this was greatly appreciated!

The chef prepared the food quickly and it tasted delicious! We got the edamame, 2x tempura roll, Ramona roll, and agadeshi tofu.

Overall a great experience, I would definitely recommend!

The people and service are great, the food is terrible. It's pasty, dry, and has no flavor. They count on the condiments for flavor. The oyster/ uni shooter is signature among sushi restaurants, but Vibe managed to screw that up. Sorry not sorry. Boto sushi in Carmel mountain is great!

We came to Vibes sushi for my sister's birthday dinner and they were absolutely amazing! We set up a reservation and they already had crayons and coloring pages available for our 3 kiddos. We had a nice big table set up for us and they even accommodated us with putting the fight on for us tonight. They were very attentive to our large dinner party and were super accommodating when it came to gluten free soy sauce. They brought out a HUGE cake and ice cream tray for the birthday girl and little ice creams for the kiddos. They had little chop stick helpers for the kids too. All in all it was a fantastic birthday dinner with large plates/bowls filled with food. 100% worth the price for the vibes! Thank you guys! See y'all next time!

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

PROS: The staff and chef were attentive and nice. The food presentation and the sushi rolls were good.

CONS: The Vibe was off for me. The music was too loud with a dark decor. The shrimp firecrackers had too much cream cheese. It was difficult to read the menu because of the tiny size.
Our receipt was odd. It listed Gaslamp BBQ as the eatery and the tip tally was calculated as if we had spent $100.00.

And when then are.. ultimately closed for good…this consumer just might go to a reputable sushi restaurant -Beni Hanas. And there I just might pay an exorbitant amount for, quality sushi, which I will take to go.

Why take it to go? Well, I would like to take it and eat here, at Vibe Sushi in Ramona, so for once, this location will taste like the exorbitant amount they charge.

I am very disappointed. I usually splurge here once a month or so on sushi. I will never eat here again. The rolls have gotten a lot smaller the price and the price keeps going up. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the rolls were so disgusting I couldn’t even finish it. The rice was crunchy on my cali roll and shrimp tempura. I’ll go down the hill for now on :(. GGRRRR

First time here. Was just passing through going back to SD. Great service, and the food was actually pretty good. I really can't imagine why the reviews are so high. The food was WAY overpriced and just awfully made. The waitress was obnoxiously loud and startled our baby more than once. The California roll was the worst I've had and served warm like it's been sitting out. The chicken katsu was just gross, i make better at home. Lots more to complain about but i just don't want to spend more energy on this. Not returning.

Farah is amazing! So are her husband and the rest of the team. My wife and I went here for her birthday and they took amazing care of us! They also have baked and fried rolls that are safe for pregnant women (when you need omega 3 why not make it safe and tasty?). My wife had a fried roll with shrimp on top, I had the sipo and spicy tuna roll. We’re not sushi connoisseurs, however we do get picky and Vibe sushi passed the test! We will definitely be eating here again. The atmosphere was great - the music wasn’t too loud and ushered a nice, mellow atmosphere. The price was good for what we got, great for the experience. My pregnant birthday wife had a pretty rough day and they helped turn everything around! As a customer and a husband, I am very thankful.

We've been extremely skeptical of going back to Vibes/Tuna Shack after the many times I have been there in the past, with not so great experiences... But, today was the day that we decided to check it out again!

Thank you Bassam Mike for a great dining experience! Seriously, it's so nice to see an owner working with his staff, talking to customers, and ensuring that everyone had what they wanted and needed in a timely manner!

The sushi was delicious, came out within 15-20min (4 rolls were ordered, plus an additional specialty roll for free for Sushi Tuesday!) My biggest issue has always been the amount of time it took to get food to the table... Last time it was an hour and 20min! The place was not busy at all. This time, they really prioritized their dine-in customers as well as having an additional sushi chef for the busier times.

I highly recommend coming back and giving them another chance, if you've been skeptical like I was! 😁

This was my previous review from May 2022- Having been through three different owners, in the same location, I wanted to give Vibes (and the new owners a try). Our server was fantastic! She was on it, and super sweet.

Sushi was good quality, as it always has been... BUT, the wait times are ridiculous, STILL. We waited an hour to get our first roll, the table next to us got there after us and was served 3 rolls before we got one. They stated the delay was due to all of the take out orders, but having been a patron since 2015, I can say that it has always been slow as molasses in winter! That part has not changed one bit.

Also noticed that the server (who was alone that night) had to turn off the "OPEN" sign at 8pm, despite not actually closing until 9pm, because she knew if anyone else came in they wouldn't be served in time.

Will be back, because the sushi is good and it beats driving down the hill, but must bring your patience with you!

What a great experience and place to go for sushi in Ramona. We had exceptional service and the food was excellent. We started off with edemame and both of us had the soup. I had the miso and she had an onion soup which she raved how good it was and finished every bit of it. I had the yakisoba, Philadelphia and crunchy roll which was outstanding. She had the teriyaki salmom which she loved. Both of the owners kept coming by to insure how everything tasted and if we needed anything else. The owner made us the tempura fried bananas with ice cream and chocolate drizzle and it was very tasty. We will be back and recommend going there.

I had the Habibi roll (habibi is Arabic for “my love” awwwww) and it was delicious. Crunchy. Sweet. A lil spicy. Then I had the Down n Dirty. Mmmm fried food! You have to like sweet and sour sauce and if you do, this one is for you. Service was excellent. Friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend as we don’t have sushi in Ramona or Julian. But we should!

I’m on a very strict, salmon and seafood diet and our waiter, Rami was able to identify menu items that fit my dietary requirements. The Pearl Lulu roll was absolutely delicious as was the Lemon Cilantro roll. Nice music and good vibes.

Our family loves sushi and vibes always delivers. We showed up about 30 minutes before the opened thinking they started at 11:00 vice 11:30. Regardless of the time, our server being the only one there at first, made the magic happen as a one man show. After we seen the others we realized we rushed the doors early. Without be told to go and come back, our server started the whole experience as a one man show.

As always, the food is spot on. However today we were taking my wife out for Mother’s Day just two weeks after her knee surgery a day early because I have to travel for work on Sunday. The server was kind and helped seat us and started taking our order as if it were open.

Bottom line, great service and as always the entire staff is great.

I ordered the rainbow roll and seaweed salad. It was all fresh and delicious. In addition I had beef broth mushroom and onion soup which was good.I also enjoyed the decadent chocolate lava cake with green tea. I’d definitely come back to try more.

Vibes provided delicious food at a very good price. The sushi chefs prepared everything we ate with pride not to mention the favors! Out of this world. I will definitely come back.

First time we went, service was super slow. Had trouble customizing my sushi because they couldn't match the pricing on the menu? I didn't care if they priced me the same if I removed one ingredient. Just let the chef know...that shouldn't be too difficult? Waiter referred to their own menu a lot when taking order. The salmon teriyaki was pretty good. Portions were all small. We left somewhat full, but def didn't expect a quick meal to turn into an hour and a half meal.

Thought we'd give them a 2nd chance since we love sushi and wanted to support local business. Service was again, extremely slow. Waited over half an hour to get one dish. Sushi rice was too mushy and sour, I didn't even want to finish it. Sashimi was tiny. Again, can't customize an order without them trying to figure out what other menu item is comparable to the price. This time we got the beef teriyaki. There was barely any beef and if we found one, they were tiny bite sized beef. May as well have been a veggie entree. Each dish we ordered literally took 10 to 15 minutes to get.

My 2nd experience was so bad I would have walked out if I didn't have two hungry toddlers with me. My husband and I both agreed, we won't be coming back again. Would have taken pictures, but presentation of the dishes wasn't worthy of one.

Hope no one has the same experience as we did.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. The food test very delicious especially the Lemon cilantro roll .

YUM!! I’m so glad we found this place, the tempora wasn’t to oily which can happen sometimes. The salmon was fresh & not too fishy which I’ve experienced before at sushi places. Food came out fresh, the chicken teriyaki was delicious also! We got quite a bit, there was 4 adults & 2 kids eating. I was pleased with everything we got! The waitress was very accommodating as well. Check this place out! Support local

Fresh and lovely. Vibes? Yeah. Good vibes my friends. Foods great and the staff is pleasant. This place has your back and gets you what you need, just ask!! (They do get busy on Friday and Saturday but they can handle the crowd)

Waited 1 hour and a half for my food. Chicken fried rice extremely cold. Like I kid you not cold. No flavor tastes like rice that has been sitting in a warming tray for at least 2 days.

today was my first time trying the vibes sushi its amazing fresh sushi all kinds raw, deep fry, and backed they have all the varsities. this place have other food for non sushi eaters like steaks and other kinds. very recommend for everyone to try.
We tried the farrah roll and habibi they were amazing.

The waitress was not attentive at all, bad service. The table was dirty even after she cleaned. The food portions were very small. The salmon was just some shredded pieces of salmon rather than a fillet. Overall it was a bad experience which was sad as the guy that I think was the owner was really trying really hard.

I picked up to go sushi. I was skeptical about sushi in a tiny mountain town but it was pretty good! My husband had the after burner roll and the spicy tuna roll. I had the Ramona roll. Being a fan of fried rolls, my only complaint was the amount of spicy mayo on top, which slightly overwhelmed the other flavors. Our solution was using the excess on the spicy tuna roll, which was yummy! The After Burner was stellar! I definitely recommend it!

I walked inside to order a takeout sashimi roll and they took 30 minutes only to realize I was still waiting. The food is low grade but this is the only sushi place in ramona. I hate coming here because everytime I come here it’s overpriced cheap sushi that takes 2 hours to come out…but i love sushi and it’s the only place in town. I just wish they were faster about the service. I’m literally the only person in here besides two old ladies.

Vibes Sushi is an Awesome Sushi Restaurant. My husband and I frequent Vibes 1-2 times a week. My favorites are the pizza roll and yellow tail sashimi. The baby octopus appetizer Is also yummy. Staff is great too.

We ordered something fast at 9 pm. The rainbow roll was ok for 14$ .the jalapeño peppers at 7$ were ok as well.

Let me start by saying I didnt try the food. But that's because they didnt want to make the food. I ordered. Waited 35 minutes while some guy with curly hair played on his phone. The cook's were eating french fries. And there was one male making sushi. Terrible service, terrible sanitation practice by eating at the deep fryers while frying shrimp for people. Wouldn't reccomend to anyone, the food might be good but I waited so long I wasn't hungry anymore.

If they had better staff, like the older sushi chef, this place could get a lot more business and have a lot more repeat clients. With the talkative college age staff that they have, this place has very slow service and horrible customer service. I was told 30 minutes for a phone order and had to wait an hour for the food due to the chef talking to people at the counter.

I'm going to Poke-'Oka for my fish fix!

Gave it three because the staff seemed pretty cool but the place was hotter then it was outside and even when asked it just seemed like it was an obvious problem with no solution but to leave. I ordered a soda and after waiting 10 mins to see if anything would cool down and hearing the staff kinda joke about it I just paid and said why I was leaving and it seemed like they heard this complaint before. I guess I'll try this place in the winter time but it's kinda hard to trust a place that doesn't even care to keep their customers happy on the most basic of levels so why would I trust them making my sushi rolls.

Didn't try the food so don't take my review as me bashing their food. I didn't try it so I have no idea.

Warm take out sushi with undercooked rice. Was told 25 mins, we ordered ahead and then waited another 30 mins before food was ready. I’m a Ramona local and have had this place 3 times. I’m really bummed, every time the wait has been horrible and the food is ok. Recommend you go down the hill for your sushi fix, I will from now on.

The food itself - Sushi- Gyoza- Miso Soup- Tempura and Beef Teriyaki were the best Japanese that we have ever had. However, the service itself and the timing of the food delivered was close to the worse we’ve ever experienced. From now on - we agreed take out will be the way for us.

Second time here and it was a great experience. First trip was a hit also. The staff is very friendly. The food is fresh and tasty. The rolls are perfect bite size and not overwhelming. Makes sure to give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Stopped in on a whim for a quick snack on our way down the hill. Very friendly and pleasant staff, I enjoy staff who are conversational and engaging! The place is very clean and comfortable, and the sushi was excellent.

My 10 year old is a big sushi fan and she absolutely loved her rainbow roll. My husband got a spicy tuna roll and a salmon hand roll, he enjoyed them. I got the Pearl lulu roll and it was very unique and delicious, I was surprised by it and I loved it! We shared the salted edamame and baby octopus. I really enjoyed the way the edamame was salted, it was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The baby octopus was a surprise as it was cooked instead of cold, we were all thrilled with that appetizer. The food we had was very delicious and mine was exceptionally beautiful in its plating. The visual appeal was top notch.

I didn’t get many photos this round because we were just in and out, but I’ll update the next time we go by, which will be soon! Definitely recommend!

Overall we enjoyed our experience at Vibes. Miso Soup was excellent! I was a little shocked that the veggie roll was wrapped in lettuce, but it wasn't bad. Personally, I'd prefer the lettuce on the inside. But, again not horrible. Staff was VERY friendly and provided great service.

Cons: Music was a little "off" - didn't really go with the "sushi vibe" and it was pretty dark in there. Oh and napkins!!! Please provide either more napkins or better a quality napkin!

Again, overall we enjoyed our first experience!

the owners wife likes to feed her dog while people are actively eating. it’s not only very unsanitary but also gross, the dog also puked on the floor. she kept picking the dog up near the sushi bar. some of the plates were dirty as well. other than that food and service was amazing but would be way better if hoss worked here.

Sooooo Good can’t wait to go back. I ordered Spicy Crab Roll with Soy Paper and added Cream Cheese with Eel sauce on top and dipped it in spicy crab sauce. The GTS Edamame was good but a bit spicy for me.
