Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar is my absolute go-to spot whenever I’m craving sushi. The food here is not only a treat for the palate but for the eyes as well. Every dish is beautifully presented, making it feel like a fine dining experience.
What really sets Toro apart for me is the sushi rolls – specifically the rice. It’s perfectly balanced with the fish, and the rice layer is noticeably thinner than at other sushi spots, allowing the freshness of the ingredients to truly shine. The quality of the fish is always top-notch, and the flavors are so well-balanced. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, making it the ideal place for both casual meals and special occasions.
If you're a sushi lover, Toro is a must-try, and definitely my top recommendation.

Shrimp tempura was lacking in flavor but the sushi was delicious. I ordered a rainbow roll and a salmon nigiri platter and that was pretty worth it for the value.
Brother ordered a baked unagi dish that he wasn't satisfied with flavor wise.
Service was excellent and attentive and handled my family's requests with ease. Would go back again

Having not gone to Toro’s since before the pandemic… I decided to give it another try, in turn because of my dad’s birthday. The atmosphere on a Wednesday night wasn’t too busy, so I did not find it surprising that there wasn’t a lot of people this time around. Here’s my take on this time’s experience:
Food: 3/5
- We got their Combo C for the stone grill — and honestly, I’d say the meat was actually pretty tender considering the portions we got! For its price, I would say it’s worth it.
- Sashimi Platter — this one was meh. Even though I loved the design of the bowl and the nitro fountain giving us its delicacy, the lackluster amount of the variety of fish really left me disappointed. The sashimi was fresh, but I was disappointed in the fact that there were only four types of sashimi to choose from for a three-person portion.
- Side dishes: some were a hit, some just didn’t have that red “gochujang” slight kick most Asian side dishes would have. The kimchi and cucumber both tasted really bland, and did not have enough seasoning. The only one that took my breath away was the radish — which had enough oomph and acidity to it.
- Avocado & Sashimi Salad — I liked the dressing that was spread across but it was a little too less. The proportion of the fish was not enough, and because of it, it tasted really bland.
Service: 2.5/5
Upon our arrival we were greeted by the staff — who honestly looked nice, but also it looked like some waitresses didn’t want to be there. It really turned me off because it didn’t show professionalism, neither did it show care. Call me a hard critic, but as a matter of fact, it just didn’t feel like the Toro I used to go to.
We had to request for a lot of things: wasabi, water, and even the basic service like asking to take our order. These are most common sense things most waiters and waitresses would look upon when serving patrons. We couldn’t even understand half of the time what the servers were telling us — either they spoke too fast, or they couldn’t understand us at all.
However, one of the waiters rose up to the occasion and actually checked up on us quite often, meeting our requests and even gave us a lot more than what we expected.
Atmosphere: 4/5
Overall, the atmosphere felt okay. It wasn’t too light, but it also wasn’t too dark either. I wouldn’t be able to say much anyways because of how compact the restaurant looked, but also it was because of the fact that we were seated near the very end of the restaurant.
Overall, with the price and everything I don’t know if I’d be able to come back again…. Neither do I want to come back. Maybe on special occasions but even then this place should consider their prices.

It was the food, atmosphere, and experience. The fact that I could cook all my meats to medium rare was fantastic and delicious. The Waygu sampler was my favorite! It was So soft and tender. The rolls were delicious. We had no leftovers to take. The food was delicious. I appreciate the kitchen, pickled cucumbers, and dicon radish. This elevated most of the dishes we had on the table. It was a hit for everyone. Our waiter was attentive and kept our drinks flowing.

First time here!! And not my last. I love it. My family of seven came and ate at the non grill area. Had a little bit of everything. Ramen, sushi and lots more. I’ve had several beef teriyaki bento box and it’s always so tough elsewhere but their’s were perfectly cooked and delicious. I will definitely be coming back and try their grilling part of the restaurant.

Wow! Our family Valentine's dinner at Sushi Toro in Fremont was an absolute delight! The Love Boat, meant for two, generously fed our family of 4 with its delightful variety of rolls and sashimi. Not only did we get our money's worth, but the presentation with the dry ice effect added a magical touch to our dining experience. Despite the bustling Valentine's crowd, the service was quick, and the vibes were fantastic. Even with a 25-minute wait (which wasn't bad considering no reservations were allowed for Valentine's), the entire experience was worth every moment. Highly recommend

This place is incredible! The quality of both the sushi and wagyu meat are excellent. I would go back any time and recommend it here. I was expecting the Wagyu to be as good as it was from the marbling, and I was honestly surprised how good the sushi and sashimi were.
Steven L is a great server too and gave good attention for dinner, making sure we had what we needed.

I recently dined at this sushi restaurant, and while the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was decent, we ran into an unexpected issue that marred the experience.
However, where things really went wrong was with the seating. My wife ended up burning her knee because the bottom of the grill section under our table was extremely hot. There was no warning about this, and it caught us completely off guard. While we appreciate the concept of integrating grills into the tables, they need to reconsider the design or at least warn guests about the potential hazard. Simply moving your legs shouldn’t result in an injury.
For future diners, I would recommend caution if you are seated near a grill section. Overall, the experience was mixed—good service, decent food, but a concerning safety issue that should be addressed promptly.

Toro sushi is good sushi place with a great ambience. The restaurant has a bar, separate sections for sushi and grills, and large TV screens to enjoy a game during a dinner.
They usually stop taking in new customers by around 9pm, so arrive before 9pm. The area is clean and appears hygenic.
Service is quick and the wait staff are courteous and willing to accommodate slight changes to your order, based on your allergies.
Most sushi/sashimi meals come with a side of Miso soup, but not salads.
Presentation is great and the sushi is well made. They have a wide variety of offerings including some interesting sounding ones.. (sushi pizza, anyone?)By far, my favorite is the Sushi/sashimi combo plate that would be good for 2 people. The salmon nigri platter is also great for 1 person and the salmon just melts in the mouth.
For California, their meals are reasonable but slightly on the higher side. (Depending on what you order, a meal for 2 could cost a minimum of $40
-$60 with tax and tips)
Overall, a good experience and I intend to going back there again.

Used to come here a lot and would even recommend it to others because we really believed they had consistent "fresh" sushi. Today, we had the complete OPPOSITE experience. Something tasted immediately off on one of the three rolls we got, we stopped eating that one after tasting. But, we were hungry so we ate the other two thinking we were safe, because they "tasted" fine, (looking back, maybe it's because they were so drenched in sauce we couldn't taste it?) anyways, we were VERY wrong. Both me and my fiancé got sick almost immediately after we finished eating; on our way home, we had to pull over for the restroom. Now it's been an entire 5 hours later and we're still holding our stomachs. We will not be returning after this horrific experience. This is the type of experience that will scar you so bad you won't eat sushi from ANYwhere, for a LONG time, if ever.. we now have have major trust issues when it comes to raw fish from now on, smh.

San Diegan here. We recently went to this restaurant to celebrate my cousin's graduation from high school. But when I first eat at this restaurant, I thought that they have strong data internet access, but I got fooled. I consider this place to be bad when it comes to internet access. When you eat at this restaurant, you're going to have limited data access, meaning that you'll experience low data there. And to make matters worse, this restaurant doesn't have Wi-Fi access, which makes this place unfairly boring, especially when you book a fun event to celebrate something exciting like birthdays, weddings, and graduations there. It doesn't make a lot sense how this restaurant doesn't have Wi-Fi. It forces yourself to get out of this restaurant if you want internet. But I appreciate the food, but not the internet access. The internet access is a joke in this restaurant.

I have only been here twice but it has been great both times.. and i am allergic to fish! Our server Min (Sorry for the spelling. He wear a beanie and glasses) actually remembered us from a month prior and thanked us for coming back! Maybe the staffing can use some work because he was running all over the place but he made it work and we couldnt even tell he was handling the bar and 3 tables as well. Really good prices for what you get. Cant remember the last time i saw $10 cocktails at a place with decent food.

How sad that in this time you don't serve people because they are Latino. I have helped this restaurant several times and today they practically did not serve us and they had full availability.l
I have been to this restaurant several times because it is very good, but this is unacceptable, especially in the company of my family.
If you think this is a lie, then look at their csmaea between 2:45 and 3:20 pm on Sunday, June 16 and you can see what ki sgua they offered us. They requested that we be arrested and on two occasions they did not solve anything.

Police contacted me, today, claiming the Japanese Hostess called to file a report. False allegations were made, such as, battery against a minor, arson by setting fire to a cross, and assault by throwing wooden objects at the Japanese host... All lies.
Even if you dropped the charges, or decide not to press, to claim such false allegations is illegal.
Please contact me, and we can settle this, or I will press charges.

We showed up at 2pm on Monday and they immediately told us that we would have to hurry and order food or the kitchen closes at 230pm , we were hungry so we hurried but am i going to visit this place again? Well guess what , I won't the world doesn't work when they want to work, no the answer is NO we will never go back to this place! . Also remember just because they are a sushi place, this is NOT by far a place that you can say OMG to the food or service. Regardless this place tries to be a high-end Sushi place but they will never be if this is the treatment that they provide to customers.

The ambiance in here looks well designed. We came for lunch and ordered the salad, miso soup, salmon belly nigiri, toro tartarte, toro hand roll, Tokyo roll, Angels kiss roll, truffle roll, and Lion king roll.
Out of all the orders, my favorite is the angels kiss roll, toro hand roll, and Tokyo roll. Those three had a good balance of flavor and texture. Salad and miso soup was good. The salmon belly nigiri could’ve tasted a bit softer. The toro tartarte was really good with the included seaweed wrap but I wish there was more seaweed wrap since it only came with 2. Lion King roll was a bit disappointing to me since it wasn’t as flavorful as other Lion King rolls that I’ve had before. I had higher expectations for the Truffle roll, however, I didn’t really like the texture of that roll. It came out to be a bit too soft and was my least favorite out of the entire order.
Service was attentive and friendly.

We came here for our family Easter lunch and glad that we were seated right away. We opted the table with stone grill for yakiniko, since we can also order sushi there if we want to. We opted for the Omakase Stone Grill Meat for 2-4 persons. It came with wagyu beefs, toro, short rib galbis, prawns, squids, pork belly cuts and sausages. The set also came with wagyu beef clay pot rice. We also ordered miso soups and ahi poke salad for starters. I think the portions were generous and the food tasted great. Clay pot rice was mom’s favorite, though it wasn’t served in a clay pot so no crispy rice on the bottom like I was expecting. Our server was very nice and attentive without being disruptive. Definitely would go back again. However, a constructive criticism for the management. Pls keep your floors and bathroom clean at all times. It was just 12 noon and floor was filthy and bathroom smelled like puke. These are what customers usually notice and will judge the cleanliness of the entire restaurant!

Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar offers a lively atmosphere – it's a popular spot! The restaurant itself is spacious, with a variety of seating options – booths, tables around grills for a teppanyaki experience, and regular dining tables. We opted for a regular table, but the entire place was buzzing. We didn't make any reservations ahead of time, but that wasn't an issue.
Toro sushi has a very extensive menu that showcases photos for most of their items, which is very helpful. The moment we walked in, I got a sense that Toro was similar to a well functioning fast food chain because all the servers and hosts were on a move, rushing from one table to another. But... here's where things got a little inconsistent, and we had a different experience. Our service was slow and didn't quite flow. There were long waits between our dishes, and it took a while to get our empty plates cleared. The dish that should have been served first (salad) didn't come out until after my friend had finished eating his entrée. That too happened after we reminded our server that we didn't get the salad. 2 of my friends were done with their entrees by the time my other friend and I got our entrees. The mediocre service disrupted the pace of our meal, so we opted not to get dessert there and go someplace else instead.
The food itself was decent. I tried the sushi sashimi platter, which came with a good selection of fish. The platter included 5 pieces of nigiri – tuna, salmon, albacore (white tuna), yellowtail, and tai. The sashimi portion was larger, with 3 pieces each of tuna and salmon, 2 pieces of albacore, and a rainbow roll. For $35, I definitely got a lot of fish, enough to fill me up and still have some leftover. The presentation of the platter was the highlight, which included the smoke/fog effect from the dry ice. Each cut of the fish was thick and generous, but the overall quality of the sushi and sashimi was okay. The sushi pieces had inconsistent wasabi portions. I felt like I was playing Russian roulett but with sushi. Some pieces had too much wasabi, and it overpowered the flavors of the fish. The rolls were not made quite well and fell apart the moment I tried to pick them up with my chopsticks. I also tried their cooked/seared eel (unagi). It was decent, but it was doused in sauce.
Overall, Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar is a good option for a casual, vibrant dining experience. The food is filling and decent for the price you pay, but the service could be improved. If you're looking for a quick bite, this might not be the best choice, but for a leisurely meal with a fun atmosphere, it's worth a try. Just be prepared to wait a bit.

Nice upscale sushi place. Used to visit it frequently before going to the movie theater. After remodel it's still a nice place. It is on the expensive side. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. I like draught beer options, not many Japanese restaurants have draught sapporo. Might be a good place for a date to impress.

How I can make a review. The food was tasty 😋 the only observation I wanna make is They only put a small piece of meat on it, practically what they are selling to the customer is only the taste of the soup and the noodles and an egg. Or everything getting expensive or they just put a 8 ctm piece of meat
Inteligencia de Jonathan
Here's a potential review you can make based on what you've told me:
Title: Great taste, but lacking in substance.
Review: "I recently visited this restaurant and had a generally good experience. The food was quite tasty 😋, particularly the soup and noodles which were flavored perfectly. The egg added an extra depth to the meal which I appreciated.
However, my main critique lies with the meat portion size. It seemed as if there was only a small piece of 8 cm meat that came with my dish. This made it seem as though what I was really purchasing was mostly the soup and noodles, rather than a complete meal. Considering the price I paid, I expected a more substantial serving of meat.
I'm not sure if this is due to increasing food costs or just their standard portion size but it would be great to see them improve on this and provide better value for money.
Overall, while I enjoyed the flavors of my meal, I left feeling slightly underwhelmed by its lack of substance."
Remember when writing your review to be honest but also fair and respectful.

Make a review: I back to this sushi 🍣 restaurant. I was happy to visit. Unfavorable tje service was horrible and were not busy and my girlfriend amd I have to wait around 30 minutes for be asking for our orders and 28 minutes for our sushi and soup . Also given us soup and not spoon then I have to serve my girlfriend and my self because of the poor service. I totally sad this time

Title: Disappointed Return Visit to Favorite Sushi Spot
Review: I recently decided to return to a sushi restaurant that I held in high regards. The anticipation of another delightful dining experience was palpable, but unfortunately, the evening took a turn for the worse.
Despite the restaurant not being busy, my girlfriend and I were subjected to an unnecessarily long wait time. Our orders weren't taken until we had been sitting for around half an hour, leaving us feeling ignored and unappreciated as customers.
When our food finally arrived after another lengthy 28-minute wait, we were disappointed yet again. We were given soup without any spoons! This left me no choice but to serve both myself and my girlfriend due to the lackluster service provided.
The joy of revisiting this restaurant was tainted by this experience. The poor service cast a somber tone on the night and made it quite disheartening. It's sad how a place that once brought us such happiness failed so deeply during this visit.

We resereved a private room for a party of 9 for our anniversary and got so disappointed by their bad service. The waiter didn t come in the room to check if we needed anything. I had to walk outside the room 3 times to ask for him. We had to wait for almost an hour for the food to come out, and the plates were brought out three different times. We didn t even had the forks and knives to eat the steak and lamb chops. The food was good and the price was reasonable, but the service was not professional at all.

Finally found the trifecta of the perfect Sushi outing! This place is swank, great decor, large high ceilings, full bar and lounge, hamachi and sushi rooms. The food was delicious! Service was on point, and very helpful. We had the dragon roll, lion king roll, samurai roll and sashimi, Everything was Bomb.
I love that it is affordable but classy enough to dress up for!

Melissa (BAR) failed to offer anything to drink, not too friendly, that is until her buddies showed up. I had to get up and ask another employee who gladly poured me a drink. The food looked great, but it was way too saucy. It was hard to separate all the different flavors in the rolls, the sauce overwhelmed them. I would give it another shot and try something different next time.

Great lunch experience at Toro, usually go there for dinner but lunch options are great too

Good food, small portions, bad service.
We ordered the stone grill set for two, which turned out to be mostly fried rice. The meat was very good, though. We also ordered a roll, which was pretty good too.
We were quoted a 30-minute wait but it ended up being closer to 50 minutes. Not all tables were full. I'm guessing they are very understaffed.
Service was very bad. We ordered quickly, then had to ask for plates and utensils after our sushi arrived. The wasabi tray took even longer and we were halfway done with the roll by the time it showed up. Water was never refilled during the meal, but oddly they refilled one of them (but not the other) when we were done.

Good food. Can be a long wait on the weekend. Plenty of space and seating. Would recommend to big family dinner.

We’ve dined many times in this restaurant before. Today I was served tempura using shrimps that were mushy which means these are no longer fresh. I was not able to eat the tempura. I ordered raw Blue Fin tuna nigiri (toro) and was served seared tuna. Who serves seared toro? It only means that they were trying to mask fish that was no longer fresh. Won’t be coming back to this restaurant

Been here 3 x ,everytime is a different experience. No need to show pictures of foods, the p alate, the tastebuds will tell you. I wish there was a place closer to home but I'll drive over an hour just to savor up the foods here!

生魚片新鮮,但份量少,要多點幾分才能吃飽。

Food took forever to come out, and then it all came at once so we where surrounded by food....our hood did not work so several people sat in food smoke...
atmosphere is industrial and because of all the ventilation dress warm cause there's a constant draft
Since we had to cook our own food results will vary ....sushi was good though
Our waiter promised he could remember everything....he could not

The staff is so sweet and attentive. And the food? GIRL. I have NEVER liked a broth enough in any udon, ramen, or phó to finish it but this place has great broth in their udons! If you like it spicy like me they offer Sriracha or chili paste upon request (absolutely to die for this way). Tried some of my friends chicken katsu curry and it was amazing too! Not too sweet and not too overpowering in curry flavor, perfectly balanced. The ambiance of this place is upscale and the path to the bathroom has a beautiful lighted floor and a fun projector of the sea. I highly recommend 👌🏻

Great place to enjoy hot stone grilling. It can get pricy if you have a large group. Overall the Sushi is decent if you are craving for some.

Liked the ambience. As expected in Japanese cuisine, less options for vegetarian food but overall good service.

Went with friends. Food was good but not great. I was close to going with 4 stars but the prices are ridiculous. For $100 per person the quality of the food should knock your socks off and it did not. A couple people in our group did have a drink but it's still overpriced.
Cooking your own meat and veggies at the table makes for a fun experience. If you are OK with the high prices it's a fun experience.

That was my first time at Toro's and I must say I was truly impressed with the quality of the food and decor. Very nice place that I highly recommend ..the waitress that took care of us was extremely professional and very patient with us as well as we did not know well the menu. Big plus for service, the manager also comped us for our desert! Nice touch!

Japanese bbq is quite good. Better meat quality than gyu gaku and cleaner than Gen. Meats are not marinated but sauces are provided. Get busy on weekend nights.

The variety, and very aesthetically pleasing food is a major plus. We tried the Stone Grill Omakase Set and the sushi sashimi platter which gives you a sample of all the meats and seafood. The hotpot was also delicious with fresh beef and seafood with udon noodles. Overall they have a variety of everything which tastes amazing!
