Brea

100% a different experience from the location in Buena Park. (Which is 5 stars, fantastic) We were super disappointed. We arrived last night near closing (completely our bad and we were thankful to be seated quickly. We’d been evacuated from the wild fires and don’t normally come to Brea.) But we thought it would be something we’d enjoy after a stressful week. Never again. Our sushi rolls were quite literally sloppily thrown together. The fish was a super weird chewy texture. We were pulling odd strings of fish or something out of our mouths while eating it. I’ve never felt the need to write a bad review for a sushi spot—even if it was mid. That’s how bad it was. What made us upset was the senior server acted like they didn’t care at all. Literally not at all. They just took our plate and cut me off while I was explaining why the sushi was honestly crap. We paid full price and still decided to tip well. Our other server/food runner was a girl, she was very sweet and offered condolences. Because of the senior server’s lack of empathy/customer service skills, and the bad sushi, we will not be back. Next time just politely turn customers away, tell them you’re closed, and don’t serve them if you’re going to serve awful food. Already dealing with the financial burden of being evacuated and just wanting a pleasant experience, completely willing to spend the money for it, and this was what we got. I’ve been a server for many years, I get that it was near closing, but do better.

Food was great, the establishment itself has some really confused policies, however. It would be nice if they worried less about creating obscure dining requirements and payed more attention to the experience being had by their customers.

Who charges for uneaten leftovers and then also doesn't allow you to pack up what can't be finished? Seems pretty stupid to penalize patrons and then also throw perfectly good food in the garbage. Whatever idiot thought that one up should probably stop experimenting with mushrooms.

Issues: No a la carte ordering whatsoever.
No taking leftover food home.
Establishment chargers for each unconsumed item left at the table.
Inconsiderate staff doesn't seem to understand that children under a certain age are unsafe to place in high chairs, therefore requiring that they be left in strollers and/or caddys.

X-Fish in Brea offers a solid sushi experience with a focus on fresh ingredients. The omakase AYCE is worth trying if you're looking for something a bit more special--the chef's selections highlight their attention to detail and quality. While the ambiance is simple and relaxed, it complements the dining experience well. It's a nice spot for sushi lovers.

Finally got to try x-fish and didn’t disappoint! As an AYCE sushi lover, the fish to rice ratio is decent, not too much rice. The fish quality is also fresh. We tried the $55 omakase set and it comes with chef choice piece of 9 nigiri. On top of that you can also order AYCE nigiri, udon, ramen. The udon texture is bouncy. Our favorite is the scallop with uni, tuna tartar, bluefin tuna. Each round each person can order 10 nigiri so keep track on that. The salmon carpaccio is also fresh.

Make sure to put your name in the yelp waitlist when you arrive! It can get busy so arrive early.

Completely different experience from the x fish in Buena park. This location is closer to me but do not plan on visiting again. Food was always mid temperature. Service was ridiculously slow. Took about 15 from sit-down time for an actual waiter to appear. Just go to the Buena park location. Your experience will be much better and the food quality much better

Inexpensive, great quality and fast customer service. I was impressed with their variety of sushi, ramen, udon and many more appetizers. Free parking structure next door is also very convenient. This is definitely worth the hype. The ayce sushi pieces have the perfect fish to rice ratio.

All around terrible experience. I’ve been to their Buena Park counterpart multiple times and have always had a pleasant experiences, but this is probably the worst experience with service I’ve ever had.

First, we were seated third at opening, but somehow the waiter didn’t even acknowledge us, much less ask us which menu we wanted until 15 mins in and when we asked the host about it, she just dismissively said “the server will get to you when they have the time.” The Buena Park one is much more crowded at opening but they were always prompt at taking our order and if they were busy, they would at least acknowledge us or tell us that they’ll get to us when they can.

Then, before we were even able to get our order in, they made us move tables to accommodate a table of 18 coming in half an hour. I don’t normally mind moving, but if it’s at opening is it not the job of the host, who was just standing there, to make sure the large table was set aside before they sat everyone down? What is she even there for?

Not to mention, the orders took a significantly longer time to come out than the BP one and it wasn’t even as remotely crowded as the other one.

The waiter also didn’t check up on our table once the entire time even though we heard him check on other tables. They also didn’t go around refilling waters like store so our water cup remained empty.

And at the end, the host at the audacity to tell us our 90 mins was up while we were eating and then told us that she’ll wait to charge since they charge for leftovers as if she’s doing us a favor when the only reason we’re not done eating and still has food on the table was because they took so long to acknowledge us and then the food took forever to come out.

They had a 18% gratuity for tables for parties of 5, but honestly, they didn’t deserve any tip for their service, if you can even consider what they gave as service at all. I mean how can call this a service when the waiter only talked to us once to give us the ordering paper and QR code?

I liked the X-Fish in Buena Park, but this entire experience makes me never want to come back to either location.

This place is for the most part average with a few items that are decent. It is the taste you would expect from an AYCE sushi. Not everything have great taste but everything is visually presented in a good manner.
Also, we waited for over an hour for those chicken yakitori that never came. Asked multiple servers who said "it's gonan come out anytime..."
We gave up and left. Would've preferred if they were honest and tell us they weren't working on it

Waited 40 minutes to be seated, and another 45 minutes to get even the first round of sushi order. We had to ask multiple servers to check up on the order but all they said was this will take a while when the order sheet was lost on their end. As soon as we complained, order came out within minutes.

Food is great, I like how the rice portion is not huge with their sushi, choices are good, sashimi is fresh.

Service is fast, not the friendliest but that’s expected seeing how busy they are.

Atmosphere wise, it’s ok, not bad but not jaw dropping. But Brea downtown on the other hand is amazing for Christmas, all those Christmas lights decoration is great, if you are visiting during the holiday season, make sure you take a walk in the street after dinner.

Some of the BEST and FRESHEST sushi hands down!! If yall come here you gotta make it an experience, yes it may be pricey but for the quality of this fish it was so worth it for me and my party. I recommended the omakase experience which is $55 per person but don't let the price stop you from an amazing experience!! When I tell yall the salmon was BUTTER I can't even lie AND the blue fin tuna was just the best I've had. This place gets packed and busy so make sure you reserve but what's even better is since they're busy you can order directly from your phone for rolls and goes directly to the chefs so you're not waiting forever.

A friend of mine treated me here, it's a decent all-you-can-eat sushi place. We ate on a weekday lunch and it came to $240 for 6 people including drinks. Including the tip, the sushi was good and unlike other places, they don't give you too much rice on purpose. I personally recommend the udon. There's plenty of parking nearby. If you go late at lunch, you might have to wait outside. The atmosphere is good. However, the air conditioner was turned up too high, so it was cold in the winter. You can only order three servings of all-you-can, but it should be plenty.

My family and I visited X-Fish Izakaya Brea for lunch and highly recommend their Omakase menu with chef's choice pairings for $55 per person. For an AYCE, X-Fish exceeds my previous expectations. With the Omakase option - just the chef's choice selections, in my opinion, is near worth the price. Don't sleep on their ramen either - and make sure you save room for the insane selection of AYCE nigiri.

This sushi spot in Brea offers premium-quality, authentic AYCE sushi for just $39.99! The fish is so fresh it practically melts in your mouth--proof of its top-notch quality is that it doesn't taste overly "fishy." I tried the Premium AYCE option yesterday and was blown away by the carpaccio selections and fresh sashimi! My top picks have to be the Sake Salmon Sashimi, Tuna Tartare, Truffle Salmon Roll, X Fish Roll, Tuna & Salmon Carpaccios, Bay Scallops, and Unagi.

You get 3 rounds, and can only order 10 pieces per person per round. There were 4 of us so we had a limit of 40 per round (excluding special items which were only 1 order per person), and 2 rounds were more than enough for us! They also offer an Omakase option for $55, which is definitely on my list to try next!

The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and quick. Our sushi arrived promptly, and we left completely satisfied and stuffed.

The ambience here is a step above other AYCE sushi spots, with an upscale vibe and a spotless interior. It's the perfect spot for a date night or a fun outing with friends and family!

Came in at 9:50, closing time is listed at 12. (Over two hours before listed closing time.) I asked what time they close three of them stared at each other Said they stop serving at 10:30, and said “we close between 10:30 and 11.” Which would make yelp, Google, and their website incorrect as they have it listed as 12. Have been here several times and will not return because it’s bad business practice to waste customer’s time to close when you feel like rather than your listed business hours. Drove all the way here for no reason, to be clear this is also the same for their Buena Park location.

It was my first time at X-fish and I was so excited to try the sushi here. My friends and I are huge sashimi, nigiri and carpaccio lovers so that's exactly what we ordered. We had the omakase option which came with a chef choice set of 9 and also the unlimited menu of nigiris, rolls, appetizers, ramen and udon! The fish quality was up to par, so fresh and tasty. I was blown away by the salmon and the bluefin tuna, they're my favorite type of fish!

The thing I really like most about the nigiri here is the rice to fish proportion! I love how they don't load up on rice for each piece so you can really enjoy the fish itself. As for the appetizers, I recommend getting the takoyaki and the baked mussels, and if you're a cheese person, the cheese balls were good too.

In terms of the interior, it was a clean and modern environment. Service was quick and attentive! If you're worried about parking, don't worry, the parking structure is right around the corner!

The restaurant looks very nice inside with plenty of light and music is not too loud. The quality of the food is really good considering it's an all you can eat sushi place. Their limited 1x per person of course is the best, like their carpaccio, but their unlimited nigiri sushi is also really good. Their tri peppered salmon and tuna tartare is one of their best options. I don't really recommend their rolls though since it's very thick and filling and won't allow you to try other things. If you're doing a La carte then the rolls might be good actually since it fills you up

Walked into this “new sushi spot” since it seems to have a new ownership. The hostess at the front seems overwhelmed and said something real fast and walked away…we couldn’t understand what she said but the sushi bar was open so we thought she said to sit at bar since there was only two of us and it was wide open for seating. The sushi bar was nasty and dirty when we approached it so we just waited at the front and them she said “you need to sign in” and pointed at a tablet…so we tried to sign in and it was not working so we said the tablet isn’t working so she said write your names down and gave us a small piece of receipt paper to write our names down and threw the receipt at us basically. After we wrote our names down she said go wait outside ( mind you it’s hot today) with no explanation that it’s their policy to wait outside. I then asked how long the wait is she said “ I don’t know” and said “go wait outside”. I then told my
Husband let’s leave. I called them and asked to speak to a manager and they said they do not have managers but only lead waiters/waitresses. He told me it’s a policy to wait outside and apologized for my experience.

X-Fish is by far the best AYCE Omakase sushi in OC! They have an extensive variety of rolls & even offer ramen/ udon. All of their rolls are made with fresh quality fish. The ambiance is very welcoming and staff were extremely attentive. Staff also recommended their most popular rolls since it was our first time visiting and didn’t know what to order. The rice to ratio is perfect & they don’t try to get you full by adding an excessive amount of rice to each roll. The best part is you can waitlist on yelp since it does tend to get busy over the weekends. This place is definitely worth the wait & a perfect place to celebrate special occasions or when you’re in the mood for great sushi. Overall such an amazing experience with quality food. I give this restaurant a 5/5.

I enjoyed my time and food! I want to start off by saying that most AYCE sushi places do not offer fancy fish options (bc it’s AYCE), but I was pleasantly surprised by the fancy selection (including the limited bluefish tuna)! I really loved the tuna tartare and yuzu yellowtale nigiris. They don’t put too much rice in the nigiri’s to get you full either.

For someone who goes to many different AYCE sushi places, the price is reasonable, quality is better than most, and the service was nice.

I recommend going on a day or time that’s not too busy as they are popular! I’ll be going again very soon~

All the Fish was fresh and delicious! We didn't have a reservation but only ended up waiting about 15 minutes before a table was ready for us. Our main challenges were remembering which of us ordered which pieces of fish or remembering to take a picture before eating it all! We had the "Signature" and our meal felt like a good value - I only wish we had stayed for a bit more of our time (we only stayed for about an hour out of our allotted 90minutes) and that I had ordered a couple more sushi rolls. Hopefully we'll have a chance to come back soon!

A great AYCE experience with fast service in a clean, modern setting. Ordering is done through a sheet for most nigiri and carpacio and via phone for rolls, apps, noodles, etc. While most ayce can feel cheap, this was anything but. Fresh fish coupled with an *impeccable* rice to fish ratio. They're not trying to skim you with big rice balls. There are even riceless rolls you can order. Even the appetizers tasted fresh and house made. Something as simple as tempura was even done extremely well. The carpacio had a per person limit and nigiri had a max of 90 pieces limit but we never felt shorted as the rest of the menu was fair game. Everything they had was worth trying. Overall, even the premium set was more than worth the price.

X Fish Izakaya in downtown Brea is a hidden gem with a spacious and sleek interior that combines wood accents and stylish lighting. ✨ The all-you-can-eat omakase option is a great deal at $55 per person, but keep in mind that everyone at the table must opt for it. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly choice, the regular all-you-can-eat menu is just $39.99.

My favorites from the omakase are the melt-in-your-mouth beef and the fresh, flavorful uni. 🍣 The ikura and scallops are also a must-try! 🐚 The service is attentive, making for a delightful dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend X Fish Izakaya for a fun night out with friends or family! 🎉

They have three different AYCE menus to choose from, which really sets them apart--you can go for the basics, splurge on premium items, or find a perfect middle ground.

They're also open until midnight, which is a huge plus for late-night dining. Whether you're in the mood for sushi, grilled fish, or tempura, there's something for everyone. Every dish we had was incredibly fresh and flavorful.

The ambiance is really inviting, and the place has a cool vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.

X fish is the perfect spot for a sushi date or a place to go yap with your friends. We got the omakase set and it was so good. The fish were all so fresh and so delicious. Our server was really helpful with bringing out stuff out and explaining to us how the menu works. The omakase also comes with ayce. They have such a wide variety of sushi to choose from to rolls, appetizers, udon, ramen, carpaccio, sushi. They also walk around with chicken skewers and they were soooo good I loved it so much. We definitely would come back again.

I had really high hopes this place will blew my mind. I came in 6:30 PM on a Monday night. It was not so busy. We are seated right away since I made a reservation. The server gave us a cold welcome and expected we knew what we wanted even when we told him we never been to xfish. The menu on the table was kinda confusing cause they would do lunch, dinner menu all at the same time. I had to ask our server what to do and gave me like a rush explanation. So he came back with qr code for us to scan and the typical paper for sushi bar menu.

Food:
The quality of food was ok, the branding of the restaurant made it feel more premium but it's just like your typical basic ayce sushi place. I had a weird chewy red-ish raw fish that was odd. I think they had better cooked rolls than raw. I was excited to try the yakitori but the guy just made them right when we are about to leave and he was passing it around. So I never got to try it. Fried stuff skip it, it takes forever to get deliver.

The qr scan menu is dumb, they limit the amount of food you can order. You have to wait a minute or 2 to be able to order again. So if you had more than 4 people trying to order at the same time good luck! You wont be able to order what you want. You gotta wait. They time you for 90 mins, so hope you make it in that 90 mins.

Overall, I will try it again maybe the one in Buena Park location. Or if you want guaranteed AYCE Sushi go to Sake 2 me in Cerritos. They never fail.

I suggest to remove your false advertisement of ALL U CAN EAT , WHEN 10 sushi per rounds ONLY and make the serving a little bit BIGGER!!

Drove down from Ventura county to meet a friend & their other location had no availability so made a reservation here. Stood at the front door for over 5 minutes without any servers acknowledging to me while walking past. Decided to use the restroom instead, & when I came out, again no one attended to me for another 3-5 minutes even though I was the only person standing there. Eventually, I had to literally wave someone down myself, & instead of asking me what I needed first, they sat a couple that had just walked in.. & then after seating them asked me what I needed..
We did the higher grade omakase option, & honestly I do not think it was worth it at all. The sushi included for the higher grade omakase set were very small pieces & varied in quality & size between all three of our plates. The other a la carte sushi we ordered again were small & okay quality. Even though we all wanted different things, when they bring out your orders, it is all on one plate. The did not give us an option to have our own ordering sheet, so everything is all together. We picked this place only because the area was about halfway drive for us all, but I would not come back. Stick to the middle grade $39.99 option at the very most in my opinion if you really just need to fill up for a cheaper option, otherwise, for better quality & actual service, go somewhere else.

Absolutely avoid this place if you value good service. The level of service is shockingly poor. When we came in specifically for chicken skewers, our experience was frustrating from the start. The waitstaff seemed completely unaware of the menu; when we inquired about the skewers, the waiter had no idea when they would be served.

Eventually, the skewers came out, but the poorly trained staff consistently followed the same route, meaning they ran out of skewers long before they reached our table. When we asked another waiter, for clarification on their route, he admitted he didn’t really know. It was only after we insisted he help us that he finally started paying attention.

If you're hoping for decent service during busy times, look elsewhere.

Today was our first time visiting this restaurant we had a horrible experience and eventually we didn't even try their food we left. We tried to make a reservation online this morning they didn't have any reservation available, so we went there around 2:30pm we saw their pad there's waiting list we were at number 17. The system told me the estimate waiting time was 15-30 mins, we saw there were tables available but they didn't clean up yet, it was so hot today outside we decided to wait inside after 15 mins we were still number 11, then a guy(looks like a manager) kicked us out with mean face ,he said they will text me but we have to wait outside under the sun where they only have ONE chair and someone was sitting on. He had such an attitude that if you want eat you go out wait , you can't stay inside. Apparently they don't care if we dine here or not . We feel so offended that this restaurant ask their customers WAIT OUTSIDE in this hot afternoon while they are lazy inside with dirty tables not cleaning on time . To the boss of this restaurant: I hope you have a great business in brea. Good luck. If I can give you zero star I'll gift you a zero.

Don’t make the same mistake I did watching their reels/tiktoks and expecting good quality sushi. The food was nothing close to high quality - there was no bluefin tuna as advertised (it was ahi, and very stringy), and service was indifferent and mediocre.

I would not recommend coming here, unless you want to spend 4-5 hours for a meal. We came at an off hour ~2pm, Yelp waitlist suggesting 9-19 min wait. We waited for more than an hour past our suggested seating time.

When we were seated, the place clearly had 5 or more tables open, but many parties were still waiting for their tables in the heat. It took another 40 minutes for food to arrive. $40 for ayce isn’t expensive but if you consider how much time you lose, it is pricy.

For the same quality of food, I would highly recommend going to Tomikawa instead, because XFish’s sushi is definitely not worth your time.

Nathan, our trusty waiter extraordinaire, treated us like royalty, ensuring our every culinary whim was catered to. The all-you-can-eat option?

Personal faves? X Fish roll and Mr. Olympia roll, hands down. Don't even get me started on the hand rolls... and when they bring out the fresh wasabi? chef's kiss
Yes, it's a splurge, but trust me, it's worth it. I'm talking sake-induced lip tingles and a belly so full it's singing its own happy tune. X-Fish Izakaya, you've stolen my heart (and my stomach). We had such a great time at Xfish’s newest location in Brea!

They have three AYCE menu options: the lunch special (limited but still a good amount of choices), the signature sushi option, and then the omakase option.

We all decided to go for the omakase option because it was $15 more on top of the signature option and it included a 9 pc set and unlimited hon maguro.

Loved the pieces on the omakase plate, my favorites being the ebi shrimp and the toro!

You get 1 pc each of certain menu items from the signature set and I really like the carpaccio pieces - so flavorful!

The food came out rather quickly and we left super satisfied!

I rarely leave positive or negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience with this establishment. My companion and I ordered Omakase for two people, but after waiting patiently for 45 minutes without any food arriving, I politely inquired about our order. Despite being the first customers there, others who arrived later were served before us. When I asked Peter about our food, both he and the sushi chef laughed from a distance before discussing the issue. After another 10 minutes and a second inquiry, the response was similarly dismissive. Peter made excuses about being busy, though we observed other tables receiving their orders promptly.

When the food finally arrived, the quality was disappointing. We left promptly after eating, even tipping the servers who brought us water, but the overall service was subpar. Shockingly, they didn't provide us with plates until after we finished eating, and we weren't encouraged to reorder. When we asked for the bill, Peter even suggested we didn't need to tip them, which left a sour impression.

If you value your time and expect quality service, I would caution against patronizing this establishment, especially considering its claim to offer premium sushi.

The atmosphere is nice and clean
However the food was disappointing. It’s all you can eat menu . we got the omakase.
The fish that came was very thinly cut and some have fish skin from edge pieces
The ayce menu limit you for 10 pcs per round for nigiri sushi. Why offer ayce but limit customer number of orders per round . Service was very slow and the quality of the sushi was average not worth the price they are charging. There are better ayce sushi around the area. Probably wouldn’t go back again

Confusing ordering process.
If kids are 44" or smaller, the price is 1/2 of $39.99: $19.99 for kids 7 years old. A rip off.
Kids that age do not eat very much but if they leave food on their plate they are charged an additional $8 for the plate, AND they can not take it home because it is an all you can eat buffet.
I had already ordered before we realized what the charges were going to be so I ate while the my grand daughter and my two great grandsons watched. They had water only.
When the bill came, they tried to charge me for 2 adults and 2 kids $119.97. I told them I was the only one who ate. The manager told me I had to tell him the others weren't eating . I told him I'm only paying for my meal alone. He argued. He finally went outside and called someone, then came back to tell me OK he would accept my payment. Then he arrogantly told me next time to tell them. (By the way, we were there for the lunch, but since it was the 4th of July, the had to charge us the dinner prices)
I arrogantly told him "there will not be a next time"
We left and went to The Sushi Box on 1281 W. Central Ave, Brea, Ca 92821 Exceptional, good food, friendly and the total bill came to the same price for the three of them as my price at the X-FISH

🌟 other tempura 🍤 ramen 🍜 hand roll sushi rolls can be ordered, but I really can not eat so much [frown R] ordered roasted mussels, this I ordered several times haha. I also had fried tofu and grilled salmon, which were delicious. I think the ramen at the next table 🍜 is also delicious

🌟 They also have kebabs, which are provided in a special way. Every once in a while one of their staff will bring them out to each table and distribute them. I had the chicken and spring onion kebabs, and they were all offered randomly, and it seemed to me that the menu would have grilled chicken skin or something

I was more impressed with this restaurant than I originally thought. I've been to the one in Buena Park during its opening week. Back then, I thought it was pretty solid, though they were probably still working some things out with the system. But here at Brea, they pretty much got it all done.

First off, the $55 omakase menu is really the way to go. The 9-piece chef's selection was even better than what I had at the other location, like something out of an upscale sushi restaurant. Even the all you can eat menu was pretty nice. The fish quality was good, the cuts were fairly thick, and it was just enjoyable all around. If you had to get a noodle from the noodle section, get the Spicy Seafood Udon. This thing is the best noodle soup you'll ever eat in an all you can eat sushi restaurant!

Based on what I've tried at X Fish Brea, it's one of the best all you can eat sushi menus I've had in Orange County. I really wish there are more AYCE sushi menus like this in OC and LA. Highly recommended.

Upon arrival you sign into a tablet. Then by the hostess you are asked to leave. Your not allowed to wait inside. There is only one bench outside that sits 3 people. If you order the premium package it's 55.00. If your other people in the party don't want the premium that's to bad. If one person ordered the premium then the rest have to order it also. My wife dosen't eat raw fish. You also have to pay 2.00 per piece of sushi you don't finish. So if you have people in your party that don't eat sushi you pay more or you eat it. 8.00 per plate unfinished. The menu is all digital on your phone. We asked one server for a napkin. He didn't know what a napkin was. Or maybe the word for napkin. We pointed at one then he nodded his head. The Wasabi/soy sauce dishes are very small, a piece of sushi dosen't fit into them. This is important because the rolls lacked flavor so even the rolls needed to be dipped. Sushi was decent but not great. No drink refills on soda or lemonade. They don't have ice tea. Beers were 10.00. Total for 2 people with 2 lemonades and 2 beers was 145.98. They gave the wrong change back. The hostess does not know how to count change. They also offer you a free beer if you give them a 5 star review. I now know why they have so many 5 star reviews. The inside is concrete floors and the tables are close to each other, making it very loud inside. The beer was cold, that was the good part. We wont go back. Ever. Kinda sad. The place that was there before this one was better than X Fish and that place wasn't good.
-comment to the owners reply-
We were approached by a server or manager he asked us, "Can I ask you guys a favor? This is a secret but if you give us a 5 star review on Yelp and post a picture we will give you a free beer"
Apparently you are going against Google/Yelp policy then. As far as the prices of drinks being in line with other restaurants, you are correct for the beers. However all other restaurants offer refills on lemonade and soda. Not a 5.00 refill.

X-Fish Izakaya is a hidden gem that offers a fantastic dining experience! We opted for their $55 omakase, which was both delicious and affordable. The chef's choice set of 9 items was a delightful journey through a variety of flavors and textures. Each piece was meticulously crafted and beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's expertise.

In addition to the omakase, we couldn't resist ordering a few a la carte sushi items. The tri peppered salmon was a standout with its perfect blend of spices, delivering a unique and memorable flavor. The hon maguro bluefin tuna was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, highlighting the high quality of the fish. The butter peppered ebi shrimp was a savory treat, and the salmon carpaccio was fresh, vibrant, and bursting with umami flavor.

Every dish at X-Fish Izakaya was incredibly fresh and high-quality. The attention to detail and dedication to flavor were evident in every bite.

The atmosphere at X-Fish Izakaya is sleek and modern, making it the perfect spot for a date night. The stylish decor and intimate setting create a welcoming and sophisticated ambiance that enhances the dining experience.

Visited this brand new all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Downtown Brea, which is their second location, and I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations! Of course you know I had to opt for the $55 omakase AYCE option.

To start, each person gets a plate of 9 different premium sushi pieces. Outstanding quality and freshness, you already get your money's worth with just this plate alone.

With the all-you-can-eat option, you can order as many additional sushi pieces, rolls, carpaccio, and appetizers you want. My personal favorites were the X Fish roll and Mr. Olympia roll.

They also offer legit bowls of ramen that are actually pretty tasty! Pleasantly surprised to find such high-quality ramen at AYCE sushi.

Thanks for reading! ^-^

I recently visited xfish Izakaya’s new Brea location, and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant has a contemporary yet cozy ambiance and offers a variety of delicious dishes, especially focusing on high-quality seafood.

I was particularly impressed by the freshness and taste of the fish. The jumbo scallops and Uni scallop caviar sushi in their omakase set were highlights for me, both in terms of flavor and presentation.

One thing that stood out to me was the value for money. At $55, their all-you-can-eat sushi deal includes appetizers, ramen, and omakase selections. This makes it a great option for those looking to enjoy a variety of dishes without breaking the bank.

Overall, xfish Izakaya offers a solid dining experience with quality food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving good sushi.

X-fish Izakaya Brea was a great experience. Went here on a weekday night and got the Signature AYCE menu. Fish was fresh, rolls were great, and the Green Mussels were the best I have ever had from an AYCE style restaurant. Seriously good. They have a new take on the ordering system that allows you to order rolls and cooked food from your phone via a QR code. Great system that leads to quick delivery of food. If there is a zero star I will choose the ZERO!!!

I can completely understand that a newly opened store will inevitably be busy, maybe the food is not fresh, maybe the management is not organized...etc. However, we had very very bad experiences on the day we arrived. And they don't even want to try to fix this problems.
The story in short is : we booked the reservation online, when we got there and were told that we don't take reservations during weekends, due to that was our first time to try that restaurant, and I want to figure out why you opened the reservation and told me that you don't take reservations, in the meantime, the server gave me the attitude showed that if you want to eat and stay, if not just leave, I don't care! Don't waste my time!!
I was like : wow! how dare you do this to your customers. We got so pissed, just because of the way they treat the people who come to "want to try to be their customers". They don't even give the chance to be their customers. Eventually we left, how good is the food with this kind of service attitude? I doubt 🤔

Sushi Experience №185

Be aware! Poor management! We booked our reservation thru their website and received the confirmation via email. Our party got there on time , but the manager told us he can't sit us in because he has a long list of reservations awaiting and we have to wait at least a hour. What's the reservation about?! He even gave us an attitude like "if you keep holding me here then you'll have to wait longer because I can't do anything", "you guys are not my customers yet anyways you can choose not to eat here". We were so shocked and disappointed that a manager could treat their customers like that. That's fine, we won't be their customers for sure!

AYCE sushi in downtown Brea!

2nd location to the x-Fish franchise. As of writing this review(6/20/24), they have been opened for about 2 days so everything felt new. Restaurant is tidy, decent ambiance, and pretty decent food.

Xfish staff intermittently brings by a plate of appetizer which I thought was different from other AYCE places. In my visit, it was a plate full of yakitori skewers which looked to be bbq'ed and seemed like it would be warm but instead, it was served refridgerator cold.

As for sushi - Although I didn't expect a gourmet, customized sushi chef nigiri experience, Xfish's nigiri felt assembled, where fish and rice was doing it's separate things. But at $40/person, you can't ask for much more..

For the price of admission, I felt it was a good value. Decent ambiance, food, and tidyness.

If you're ever in the downtown Brea area, I would recommend it! Definitely worth a visit.

Walking in, the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Beige colors and wooden accents with perfect lighting.

There are 3 tiers for food.
Lunch XFish - $27.99
Signature - $39.99
Omakase - $55

Today we tried the Omakase which comes with 9 pieces of chef choice and everything under omakase. My favorite piece was the yellowtail and Wagyu piece. In their regular menu, my favorite items were their bluefin tuna and peppered salmon. Their menu is so extensive - they even have pretty good ramen and a tempura bar.

Service was great, I’ll definitely be back.

My new favorite AYCE sushi spot!! The quality of everything was literally the best I’ve had since COVID!! Food came out super quick, fish to rice ratio was insane, and only $40 pp?? No one can beat x fish!! They also have a great assortment of cooked food and ramen choices perfect for my old Asian parents!!

This week, I went to my usual market and decided to try the newly opened sushi and ramen place. It was truly a delightful experience.

I’ve visited a couple of times now, and it has become my go-to spot for enjoying unique and healthy menu options at reasonable prices. The fresh ingredients and variety of dishes ensure both taste and health benefits.

Additionally, the parking building has a Tesla Supercharger station, which allowed me to charge my car while dining, saving valuable time. The convenience of parking and charging made the visit even better.

If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. You’ll have a satisfying dining experience for sure!

The location is great. The interior is refreshing. The people are nice.
We got The LUNCH X FISH.
The ease of ordering was fairly simple- they give a QR code to order the rolls, udon, ramen, and drinks for the table.
The portions was a good size, not too small or not too big so that we can try multiple orders. Everything was pretty good.
The sushi bar was limited to ordering 10 x "the number of people seated" pieces limited to 3 rounds, so approx 30 pieces of sushi per person per meal. Not too bad since you are eating other stuff too, but not AYCE as advertised then.
Now the disappointing part : the quality of the sushi was far below par. Not fresh at all, but thawed and dry. Ordered multiple rounds of sushi to see if the quality would change. Not really. I was expecting SOME AYCE sushi quality, but even for ayce quality, this sushi was definitely the most deterring.
Sorry. Hoping that the restaurant had problems with their vendor. But I'm not coming back to a place where they can't quality control.
