Understated, strip-mall fixture offering a variety of sushi rolls, ramen & other Japanese classics.
Been here a couple times and I was really surprised the first time.
Place is large with a lot of tables and space at the sushi bar. Located in a nice small plaza and inside it definitely feels like an authentic sushi restaurant which is hard to find in Arizona.
So far the staff have always been sweet and welcoming but during busier times, be prepared to wait long periods of time to get attended.
In terms of sushi, it really depends on what you order and your own preferences. I like to try new things and I have regretted a few rolls here. Lesson learned but disappointing when sushi is not cheap. Definitely a luxury now in this economy.
Overall I recommend if you are in Tucson!

Nice little sushi place. Seems popular locally; we just beat the dinner crowd. The vegetable tempura was good. My wife enjoyed the Spicy Ramen. I tried the Blue Crab Roll and Soft Shell Crab Roll. Both Rolls were flavorful but disappointingly quite small. One of the servers was... different. Instead of greeting you at the door when you come in, she would yell across the restruant to ask you how many seats you needed. Is was a bit disruptive. A couple of awkward conversational moments when she visited our table as well. Still, a good meal. Just traveling through or we'd definitely be back.

This restaurant used to be one of my family’s favorite restaurants. Sadly the quality just isn’t there anymore. The past 3 times we have gone we’ve had issues with the quality of the food. Sashimi with very unfresh/low quality fish (maybe a new vender or just not fresh). My wife used to love their sashimi.
I get the steak combo with the Cali roll and tempura. One time they completely forgot about my food and when they brought it out my steak was burnt. They sometimes have a flavorless potato salad that’s pretty gross. Two days I go I tried the steak again and they brought out what looked steak that was from yesterday and microwaved into jerky and just covered it in teriyaki sauce. It also tasted like they cooked it with fish. We tried the veggie gyoza (my wife is allergic to pork, I normally order the pork) this gyoza was a soggy mess. No sear at all and just flavorless and nasty (should definitely take it off the menu)
There’s no excuse for this low quality for how much they are charging for food. Also, their servers a rude every time. I come from a Japanese family (grandma was from Hokkaido) and I’m fine with the normal straight to the point and sharp answers but telling me when I ask for no side bowl of rice or salad… “ no you’ll have it” or telling me which way I have to have the boat (I’m left handed and turned it facing the other way) is rude. I’m not an idiot and don’t stab food with chopsticks since I culturally know what that means.
The food used to be worth the rude service but we will not be returning, after over 30+ years of going with my family.

My Sweetheart and I come here often and are always treated to the best service. We almost always sit at the sushi bar because it’s fun to engage with the chefs and as regulars, the wait staff now recognize us and immediately bring us our drink orders before we even have to ask. Top service and always friendly and the sushi is the best in Tucson. Always a dining pleasure!

Ordered for a large delivery. Rice quality is subpar. Almost all fish quality was also below average (the tuna was fine). But the most inconvenient part was how the food arrived without any chopsticks or soy sauce, which would have been useful to help mask the low flavors and quality of the food. So we ate what we could til we decided to stop this terrible eating experience and got food elsewhere to complete our dinner.

We drove from Marana to try this place out and will definitely be back. AMAZING nigiri rolls. The salmon and tuna were like butter melting in your mouth. We also got the AZ roll and it was massive. There’s no way to fit the entire thing in your mouth. The spicy ramen was pretty unimpressive, which is the only reason I’m giving the food 4 stars. It was basically just salt and onion flavor. I will say that there are pieces of paper with food menu items written on them completely covering the walls and it was very confusing to process. Some of the menu items were specials, some weren’t on the physical menu, etc. so just a bit overwhelming when they already have a MASSIVE menu they’re handing you. The wait staff was very nice, but after they cleared our plates no one acknowledged us for 20 minutes. We finally flagged someone down and they brought us our check. Everyone who sat down after us had already left or had their check processed already. It was very strange how they suddenly ignored us.

Obviously, local clients are happy with grocery store grade sushi and poor service. They seated me at the sushi bar and didn't bring me the main menu, so I had to order from the sushi menu only and the chef gave me the worst cuts. Sorry, you don't serve good sushi for my money, and I don't leave a good review.

I'm from Seattle, so I was skeptical at first. But wow, great sushi. The rice wasn't what I'm used to (i like sticky rice) but the fish was very fresh. I didn't see any "complete sushi dinner" options with miso & salad, those must be ordered separately. But it was very good, and I'd definitely eat here again.

Arrived, they set me at a table that was also for To-Go pickups. ... gross, weird.
Then they asked me to move because 'they were eating lunch'... annoying, weird... especially since clearly they knew this was the staff's eating table.
The server set me up at the sushi bar, I put in my order, and 35 mins later, the ramen hadn't shown up. Nobody checked on me. I asked about where the rest of my meal was, everyone was confused, they brought me 2 bowls of ramen that wasn't mine... I reiterated what my order was R7... then I sat and waited.
and waited.
and waited.
Nobody spoke to me about the delay, or what was going on. 15 mins later, I asked for the check and left. Different server rudely squeaked out a non-sincere "sorry"... as she dropped off my check.
Now, I've wasted my lunch break and am still hungry.
They looked like they had yummy food... but I can't imagine going back to that hot mess.

Went here with my wife and ordered a lot of stuff, such as the Kobe and otoro. The otoro seemed crappier than the Toro we had before. The so called "Kobe beef" came out and looked like overcooked flank steak on top of rice. I tried asking for them to fix it, but the owner argued with me about what it really was (she brought out a package of American WAGU that was frozen and cost less than $10, saying that's what they use). The owner got angry, said I was too poor to afford Kobe, picked up the "Kobe" and threw it on our table on top of our other food. They tried charging us for it and threatened to fight me outside, with one employee throwing a bowl at the wall. The wife and I ended up paying more than $80 for less food than we've ever gotten for that price. Grabbing food with the hands and throwing it on the table is a health and safety hazard for restaurant patrons. I can't believe we got treated like this after we've been loyal customers for years and that we had to pay so much for contaminated food that she squished and ruined with her hands.

I have been going to Sachiko Sushi since I was 8 years old. Sachiko Sushi USE TO BE the best, now I HATE going there. The Service is so terrible my mom and I waited forever just to get menus and the restaurant was not busy, I asked politely various times for ice tea until I finally from thirst I got up my self and asked the cashier for a refill. The food is good but after all the terrible service and stress of trying to get everyone's attention I rather go to SUSHI TEN or KAZOKU Sushi.

I've been going to this place for a little while. Service has never been their strength, but my last visit was definitely disappointing. I ordered a combo that comes with a california roll and it was missing. I went back to the store and they told me the checked and the order was fine. At this point, it's not about the roll, is about the attitude of the lady who was not accepting her mistake. Should someone teach them how to treat their customers? I think so.

I did a pick up order for Michael tonight. I ordered a spicy Tuna roll, las Vegas roll, gyoza, squid salad and California roll. when my husband got home we opened the box and the roll that's supposed to be spicy Tuna is not spicy Tuna. we called and the lady told us to come back. we live in vail and aren't driving all the way back and have our dinner even more cold. And I don't know what this mystery roll is that's now going in the trash because I'm not sure if it's something I'm allergic to.

Very demure inside, very cute very respectful. Sushi was good and the value was ok. I felt the portions were small though. Service was just awful. We went on a Wednesday night and every step of the meal that involved engagement of the waitstaff took forever. We were there for 1 hour and 20 minutes and probably spent 15-20 minutes actually eating. At one point there were 3 waitstaff supposedly getting our check. Drinks never refilled, we never had the chance to order more food. Left hungry after paying $100.

Our favorite local spot, the sushi is always delicious. Usually we order to-go, but the last time we decided to sit down. I think they need work on better quality dining service. The waitress brought an incorrect sushi that we did not order. We had to wave down a different older lady, who helped us. Finally we got the correct sushi. Then, our waitress brought us the wrong bill, that belonged to someone else. Again, we waved down the older lady who helped bring the correct bill for us. The food is great but, maybe skip the sitdown service and just get a to-go order!

This is easily our favorite sushi spot in Tucson. My husband and I have tried almost every roll on the menu, and we always enjoy discovering something new each time we visit. Despite the restaurant being consistently busy, the staff makes us feel like regulars—they always remember us, greet us warmly, and catch up on our lives.
We recently brought my mother-in-law along, and she tried the bento box, which she absolutely loved. It offers a generous portion of food at a great price. My husband’s top pick is the Oregon roll, while I often alternate between the Yummy Yummy roll (which is so big you almost need to eat it like a sushi burrito) and the Super Star roll.
We can't recommend this place enough!

We drove from Marana to try this place out and will definitely be back. AMAZING nigiri rolls. The salmon and tuna were like butter melting in your mouth. We also got the AZ roll and it was massive. We used to enjoy the sushi here although the restaurant was on the small side. However our last visit, the restaurant had been redesigned to be slightly larger to accommodate more tables and the menu had changed. We did not enjoy our food. There are many better sushi restaurants in Tucson. The AC also was not working. During July in Tucson, AC is a must.

The food is so delicious and good quality. I've been here about 5-6 times now and the service isn't the best. I didn't get a refill on my water the whole hour plus we were there yesterday, we had to get up 2 different times to ask for things since the server would do a quick drive by to drop off food and never come or even look our way BUT as soon as we put our cards in the check and set it on the edge of the table the server was there within seconds to pick it up lol. I'll still continue to eat there because it's so good but I do wish the service would improve.

I used to work here as a dishwasher when I needed a college side job, and now it remains my favorite sushi place in Tucson, Arizona. They have the best, freshest fish I've had in the state, with a huge variety to choose from. I highly recommend the Superstar roll and the traditional salmon roll to truly experience how fresh the fish is. The ambiance is fantastic, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the quality is consistently top-notch. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or trying it for the first time, this place will not disappoint!

I'm not usually one to bother with leaving reviews and am pretty understanding about how there's only so much the staff can do when the restaurant is packed, but last night's dine-in experience was absolutely appalling. Every time we needed some sort of interaction with the staff, it took ages. Getting our drinks took over half an hour, another 45 minutes just to have someone come take our food order, food took at least another 45 minutes, and we had to aggressively flag someone down just to get our bill so we could get the heck out of there. No one ever offered refills on our drinks and there were zero reassurances on "Sorry for the wait, your food should be coming out soon." We weren't even given chopsticks or napkins once the food did finally come out, so we ended up grabbing them ourselves from the table where they were being stored. There appeared to also be a ton of miscommunication between staff members; someone came by trying to give us miso soup even though we did not order any, my mother-in-law ordered white wine and someone had to come double check if she ordered white or red, and then after she already got her glass of wine, another person came with yet another glass. Perhaps the most worrying thing was when I used the restroom and the only soap dispenser in the restroom was definitely out of soap (what is the wait staff using to wash their hands then?!).
It's a shame because the food was really good (only reason I'm leaving two stars instead of one), but we're definitely not coming back here again after that almost-three-hour ordeal.

If you're looking for a delightful Japanese dining experience, Sachiko Sushi is a fantastic choice. The sushi here is exceptional, boasting great-tasting, fresh ingredients that melt in your mouth. Each piece is carefully crafted and bursting with flavor, making it a highlight of the menu.
The teriyaki dishes are equally impressive, perfectly balanced with a savory and sweet glaze that enhances the tender meat. The miso soup is a comforting and satisfying starter, hitting the spot with its rich umami taste.
While the ramen, though not the most exceptional item, remains a delightful and worthwhile choice. Personally, I prefer the broth to have a little more depth. Similarly, the kasu could be elevated with a bit more attention to seasoning and presentation. The noodle dishes, though not extraordinary, are satisfactory offering traditional flavors that are enjoyable.
What sets Sachiko Sushi apart is its excellent service. The staff are friendly, polite, and patient, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. The restaurant's decor adheres to a basic Japanese aesthetic style, with simple chairs and tables that contribute to an authentic atmosphere.
Overall, the dishes are reasonably priced, making it a great spot for those looking to enjoy quality Japanese cuisine without breaking the bank. Despite a few areas that could use improvement, Sachiko Sushi provides a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.

Went with my lovely new friend. She had been before, me not.
I was struck by the size of this place. From the outside, I just assumed it was as wide as the front windows. Actually, it was twice that inside! And boy were they busy at noon-ish for lunch.
They only had the sushi bar seating when we came, so we elected not to wait.
Their menu is really large. There are lots of great choices, all seemed reasonably priced. We decided on three: the Oregon, spicy salmon, and rainbow rolls. We were both focused on rolls where there were no fried components. All were delicious. And the benefit of sitting at the bar is that you get to see the chefs at work, ask questions directly, and they just hand you your order when it's ready.
Great food, excellent service, great company. It doesn't get any better! Highly recommended!

This is the BEST sushi in Tucson, hands down. Found it and fell in love while living on the east side, but we’re up in OV now and are still happy to make the drive. Recently went for an early Mother’s Day dinner on Saturday night, the food was great as always.
I will note one very disappointing thing though - while they have expanded their seating area since the last time we visited, their staff still is the same. This meant that we had to ask to get our drinks, flag a server down for refills, and finally for our check and a box. Before, they never seemed to have a dedicated server per table but it seemed to work great and we never had issues. With having more tables now, this doesn’t seem to work anymore.
While the food is amazing and I’ll probably be back, I definitely will not be returning during peak hours due to this horrible lack of service.
One last tip: Always look at the papers posted for the best specials - that’s where we always find some amazing sushi rolls and nigiri that aren’t in their standard menu!

Food was good. Service was basically nonexistent. Do not recommend.

Food is amazing. Service on our last visit was horrible and made us feel unwelcome. we were a large party and everyone said the same thing about the service we received. Will be looking for a new sushi place.

Sachiko is an awesome place to get sushi! I was wowed by the professionalism of the chefs, because I watched them prepare dish after dish of fresh sushi behind a glass partition. It was exciting to see their expertise.
The ambiance was cheery and bright. I could observe the whole sitting area from the sushi bar. The restaurant was nearly full to capacity, giving me an impression that it is a popular spot.
The only negative aspect of my visit was that I had come to Sachiko under dressed (T-shirt and sweatpants). My friend that I was buying dinner for his birthday was well dressed. The server didn't see me put a hundred dollar bill in the pay holder to pay for the sushi and drinks that we had ordered. When the server returned, she tried to give the change to my friend. I firmly believe in not judging a book by its cover.
Overall, Sachiko Sushi is a nice place to sit back, unwind and have some fun eating sushi and other Japanese delights.

The best sushi in Tucson, hands down!

My favorite Sushi place in Tucson is Sachiko, and they are the only one (that I've been able to find so far) that still uses real crab in their snow crab roll and king crab roll. Both sushi rolls were very fresh and delicious. I also quite enjoy Sachiko's grilled salmon collars, which are another rare menu item that's pretty hard to locate. Prices at Sachiko are fair, the serving size is generous, and all the food I've tried so far is delicious.

Quick service, good prices, large and varied menu with lots of fish. My Go- To place for sushi and sashimi in Tucson. Had some mackerel, wild salmon, dungeness crab roll and several tunas this time. The miso is good too.

I came just for sushi. Ordered to go, first time here and they were pretty full (Sunday after lunch). Took about 25min for 3 rolls and salad. I got the spicy salmon roll (not spicy at all, think they forgot that part), a shrimp tempura roll with cream cheese (amazing), baked scallop roll (not a fan when it’s cheese baked on top), and the salmon skin salad. I’ve had salmon skin salads before at other places (not in Tucson), and this place literally had it with lettuce, and it was a huge portion. Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t what I was expecting. Took a bit for them to take my order, but they were busy as well. Maybe next time I’ll try the other entrees and not just sushi.

Best sushi I've had in Tucson. So good, I went two days in a row. They are very direct with customers when they are busy, and I appreciate that. The food is worth the wait! Honestly, we didn't even wait that long. The prices are very reasonable and the menu is huge! I will absolutely do the drive across town to eat here.

Very bad customer service. Awful customer service. I used to go to this place 15 years.. yesterday I wanted to eat sushi by myself… I ask them 3 times to bring me Misso soup. One lady who works there I asked her again. Can I please have a Misso. soup she start yelling on me on the front of the everybody she said do you see we busy we will bring you soup soon…. and I told her please don’t talk to me like that, and she started telling another coworker… how she doesn’t care if I am Customer…. Because they are super busy…I was really shocked…. I will never ever go to that place again.

They have delicious sushi! It runs about as much as a typical sushi place around $12 per roll type each roll is 4 to 5 pieces. My husband and I ordered 4 different types of rolls to share and that was plenty of food for the two of us. The service was great and despite being busy it wasn't overly crowded feeling or loud in the restaurant. I would definately recommend if your in the mood for sushi!

When we entered, they yelled at us very rudely from afar, many times, we felt too uncomfortable to stay here, so we left the place. Customer service from another planet, where being yelled at is normal.

They never came to the table. Served a family after.me. I sat on the 6 people table. Canceled my friends after 10 minutes of no one showing up to acknowledge me. Woman stated I was sitting where a big party was supposed to be. The server saw me come in. I told her I told my friends not to come because of the service. Now I'm solo, and my food came, teriyaki chicken and rice was cold. The beer came quick along with the miso. The sever just dropped it off. I asked the woman isn't the rice and chicken supposed to be hot? The same woman about the party table tells me when she came to the table that it was sitting with me to get cold. I told her the woman just dropped it off. I was appalled at the comment. I pay for my meal to be served hot because if I wanted it cold I would have eaten mochi. Not to mention, it's a Health dept violation. I have been coming here for about a year and I have never experienced this kind of service. It seems the chef is happy behind the line. Since sushi isn't hot, that's a good thing. Hail to the Chef that fills the room with laughter. Arigato

This is hands down the best Sushi in AZ if not the country. I have been going here for over 25 years and the quality has been just as great all those years.

We live in Vancouver and are spoiled that we have 2200 sushi restaurants (one on every street corner!). This is the best sushi I've had in Tucson. Trust me, this is a gem!!

Sachiko Sushi is an okay place. The sushi is great but the service is inconsistent and often lacking.
Almost all of our items had to be written in, leading to a lot of confusion at the sushi counter. We tried not to order off menu, but every special and many of the rolls on the table menu weren't on the sushi counter menu.
Since we weren't quite sure how hungry we were we ordered 2 items to start. Adding to this order later was even more confusing since we needed to use the same check as before.
Ultimately I ordered the sushi special with California roll and the wife had the Super Tofu Roll. The sushi was good, fresh, and flavorful. The super tofu roll by contrast was a mayonnaise soaked mess.
We were still hungry so we ordered another round, this time the asparagus tempura and vegetable tempura roll. Both were really heavy on the cream cheese to a point where the roll was unbalanced and I could hardly taste the other ingredients.
This was made more difficult since no one came by to remove our old plates. So we just stacked our plates in front of the seat to our left (sorry!).
All in all we found this experience a puzzling mix of old-school charm and poor service. We're not sure it's worth a return visit - at least for us.

I came from Tokyo, and the sushi was delicious considering it's a desert area. However, the customer service attitude was so bad. I heard that many of the employees are Korean, but they should provide thorough employee training.
東京から来たが、寿司ネタは砂漠地帯の割には良かった。しかし異常な程に接客態度が悪かった。韓国人従業員が殆どだと聞いたが従業員教育をしっかりとすべきだ。

Great quality, everything is consistently fresh and delicious. It’s always better to go during off peak hours because it gets packed.

This place was always my go to place. But this last experience will most likely be my last… upon arrival this older lady working was rude with us and rudely told us to wait even when our server was waving us to a table. Then we had to wait at least 15 before they took our order then it took 30-45 mins for our food to show up then after we ate we waited another 45-1 hr for the check. We weren’t the only ones getting shotty service. This was my birthday and our other plans for the night were ruined because we spent almost two and a half hours at this place… don’t come here until they implement some systems because it’s a chaotic unorganized mess. The food is great and always is but the service is terrible, order to go avoid going in. I’ve had many good experiences here but this last one rubbed me the wrong way and I won’t be back until I hear they have better systems

My second time in a sushi restaurant and I didn't know how to order and the servers were very rude and even ignored me when I first sat down. I have never felt so humiliated in my life and won't ever go back again!

The food was so delicious!! They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. We ordered from their sushi menu and everything was so good. The restaurant was unexpectedly very busy for a Sunday evening, so the service was a little slow, but we didn’t mind! Very good & definitely recommend.

Arrived at about 1:00. Took about 15 minutes for someone to take my order. I had my food in another 15 or so. Presentation of the sushi is not exactly perfect (see video), but the taste is great. I've been here before at a table with others and had better service. I walked in solo and the sushi chef commented as I waked in to her coworker both looked and has a secret joke. So. Not my best experience here. There are other better sushi places. 50/50.

This is my favorite sushi place! The service could be a bit faster but they are very nice. The prices are about average for sushi but the quality is great! I have never had a roll there that was less than top notch.
