Unfortunately the food was mediocre as was the service. We had to ask for a refill of suits after 20 minutes of no one checking on us. Had to stop her multiple times to even get another order in even though she had 3 tables, not very busy. Some of the rulls were just drowned in sauce which was not good the spider roll claimed to have soft shell crab in it but there was none deductible whatsoever they definitely move at a very slow pace I'm guessing to fill you up quicker. I came here when it first opened and it's really dropped off

Sorry to say I must likely won't be back plenty of competition out there, I'll stick to Sakura

2025-Jan-11 Great food, would highly recommend if a carryout option is ever provided. Service is unpredictable though. Being seated and waiting over 20 minutes to be served is not good, no one came to take our order. We walked out due to poor service. Previous times were a great experience though.

Mon-Fri 11am to 3pm @ $26.99/pp and anytime else is @ $31.99/pp. Food is AMAZING! Menus are getting a bit old so it wasa bit hard to read. Constant service throughout the meal. Appetizer I recommend: chili garlic edamame, crab salad, and chicken karage. Recommended rolls: Golden California Roll and Crunch Shrimp Roll. Vanilla Mochi ($5) was the best! Sake Bomb ($10) was shared between 2 people! This is our favorite spot!

I was at Junn today and never been treated this bad by a server in my life. Quinten was very rude and aggressive in his responses.
I don’t think I am ever coming back here again!

Sushi Experience №18

We are regulars at Junn but today the server Quinton was completely rude and aggressive. He was putting water on the table and asked you need anything else and my husband said we are ready to order. He said i will pass by other tables real quick to put the rest of the water and come. He then went and served another table which is fine. When he finally came to our table, he said would like to order other drinks and my husband said “no, we are ready to order”. That’s when he had this attitude and said if you have this attitude I will not serve you and you can leave. We said we didn’t have an attitude, we simply said we were ready to order.
I am not sure what is his problem but yea thanks Junn. No more recommendations from us.
Even take a look at the menu we were given upon entering the place when clearly there are better copies! it looks like we didn’t appeal to him when we walked through the door!!

Dude with the man bun had the most god awful attitude ever. My friend tipped less than what he “expected” and called him out on it. The service was mid, at best and to sit there and demand a higher tip is completely unprofessional. You did nothing but bring out one plate of sushi, go find a different job or demand a raise, don’t take it out on the customer!!

I was having dinner at the bar and one of the sushi chefs started yelling, and cursing at an employee across the bar. I think it was a manager why didn’t he just talk to his employee on the side. Why cause a scene in front customers. That’s bad for business. School is already stressful, is it too much to ask for a peaceful dinner.

Sushi Experience №30

IDK, maybe I'm not the target clientele, but I'm the one writing the review so here it is.

Went here with a small group of 2-4 for AYCE a few times but stopped going and eventually started actively saying no to this place. The food and atmosphere and all that were really good, but it just always took so long and was so inconvenient, due mainly to a combo of rules and server scarcity that Akita and Sakura don't have either of.

I'm sure they had their reasons. Maybe they were purposely trying to force us to eat less by making it inconvenient. Maybe there is an authentic culture in Japan of getting tiny amounts and waiting forever for more that they wanted to replicate. Maybe they were taking their time to make sushi with such care and attention to detail it's like how SpongeBob made his 1 crabby patty and beat King Neptune's 1000 and earned a spot in the Pantheon. Maybe it's less lofty and they were just chronically understaffed. I don't know, but in the absence of comprehensible justification any of the times I was there, I didn't dig it. It made the experience a lot less enjoyable.

That's too bad because they might maybe have been the marginally best AYCE sushi in town. Maybe some day when I'm on that side of town (often), not doing anything for the next good few hours (maybe), and don't want to get full for 32 bucks a person pre tax pre tip (uh, probly never) I'll go again with my Asian friend who IIRC really liked the urchin she couldn't get anywhere else, which was one thing that was actually gross. In the meantime, I could (and do) drive to Akita in Scottsdale and drive back and still be a lot quicker, fuller, and happier with food that to me, a non-connoisseur, is essentially equally good non-buffet sushi.

I would be delighted if they would or already have just update (not even abolish, though they should) the rule and have a get-ahold-of-able server. I'm not trying to eat all day and put them in the red, but it is AYCE so come on.

Terrible food!! I’ve tried lots of sushi places and this is the worst! All three of us were starving and the food was so bad we couldn’t swallow it. Rice was cold and hard, fish was not fresh. Amazingly friendly staff always enhance all aspects of a dining experience!
It was my birthday and I left with a vast variety of sushi cuisine items in my belly. The price was beyond reasonable - exorbitant with the array of options. At times, other sushi places may limit rolls to a certain selection - not here! Also, salads - appetizers - mini bowls of sorts ... my oh my! With all that said, I must say the best part had nothing to do with the fresh, fast food at all ... my company and I l♡ve sushi and eat tons - were we looked at w/ the hairy eye? NOPE! In fact, our jovial waiter William provided us a story of a small framed woman who came in solo and ate even more than us!
Definitely found my new spot :)
I hope this helps those in the fence

Arrived 2 hours before closing and was told it would be a 25 minute wait so the hostess took down my number so we can be alerted when our table was ready. My cousin and I go back in the restaurant almost an hour later because we had NOT gotten a notification and thought maybe it was still really busy…we found the restaurant empty. Talked to the girl at the front and said she forgot to call us. We were seated and immediately told they would not be doing all you can eat, only made to order. We were given waters but not asked if we would like anything else to drink and it seemed like our server was really rushing us. We told him we just needed a few minutes to look over the menu and he came back SECONDS later and we told him again we needed a few minutes. We ordered our food and the sushi came out fast, and it was surprisingly good. But the server was making us anxious because of how much he was staring at us but also like he was trying to push us out the door. The environment felt off and we didn’t feel welcomed but at least the sushi was good.

The combination of good food and a great atmosphere is truly unbeatable. It elevates dining from a simple necessity to a delightful experience. When the ambiance complements the cuisine, every bite becomes more enjoyable. With a large party you should of course expect a little longer wait time but it will be worth it. All you can eat priced perfect and portion sizes are bigger than expected. Food comes quick too. Just come ready to eat, you will be full for sure

The quality of the sushi is top-notch and there is a lot of variety. Service was cordial and rapid. There is a negative, however. This is an all-you-can-eat restaurant with rules to be respected. You have to restrict yourself to a specific menu (therefore, not all items can be freely consumed) and, there are limits to the number of items you can order for certain choices (usually only 3). A buffet 'by the rules.' I have not returned in months due to this policy.

their customer service was absolutely unacceptable. The hostess in the front was rude when someone asked to pick up an order. Everyone saw the way that the hostess was being rude to all of the customers that were waiting, so someone decided to ask for a manager to address the hostesses attitude for no apparent reason. The manager was not any better. Overworked and underpaid, but regardless at the end of the day, customer service goes a long way people were so disappointed by the way that they treated the people who were just trying to get a table. I walked out. I’m not disrespectful and dismissive customer service. I haven’t seen anything like this in a very long time.

Take it from this asian girl, this place gets two thumbs down. I've eaten at a lot of sushi places. This by far was the worst. I found Junn AYCE sushi on Google. They had a lot of reviews and was rated 4.4 stars, so I figured it can't be bad. Plus we were hungry so even if it was ok, any food would taste good. WRONG.

I'm glad we only could only order the max 5 nigiri per round for two people. I ate my maguro (tuna), excited because I was starving. I had to force down swallowing the food. The sushi rice had way too much vinegar and was disproportionate to the paper thin fish. See the picture. It is comical how thin the fish was.

I thought I'll give it another try with the smelt nigiri. Yet again, I couldn't get past the obscene about of vinegar in the rice. I ate two pieces of "sushi" and decided to find a different sushi restaurant. My son finished the remaining pieces of fish we ordered. After that we asked for the check and told them why we are leaving. The waitress tried to charged us for two AYCE meals. I explained there is no way I'm paying that because we didn't order a lot of food and we're wanting to leave since the food was awful. I kindly requested we pay per item. She went back to the manager and they ended up charging us for 1 AYCE. Although I think it would of been cheaper if I paid per order. Too hungry to argue or calculate the price per order, I gladly paid the bill so we could get out of there. We immediately drove down the street to a different restaurant.
Save your money and go to any place else but there. It's a rip off.

I wasn't impressed at all. The server was very slow in bringing out my order. You start with 5 rolls which came out in intervals which I feel was a strategy to allow your food to digest so that you can eat less. The rolls came out sporadically without any Wasabi or Ginger. It was odd that although I sat at the bar and asked the chef if I could have a side of Wasabi and Ginger he stated to me I'd have to ask my server. Considering that he was right there next to those condiments it would have been more efficent for him to simply hand them to me. As it pertains to the sushi itself the Las Vegas roll did not have enough sauce also the presentation of the dish was very lackluster. The greatest travesty was that the server was very unattentive. I had to chase her down to recieve another glass of water as well as my tab so that I could leave. Yes, it's all you can eat sushi but for the price I'd rather go somewhere with better quality and service for the same price.

Sushi Experience №78

My server was sweet. (Not naming so this person doesn’t get into trouble) However… the time to make all of the sushi was out of this world (at least I thought) I waited 45 minutes for a tuna poke salad (only power greens, raw tuna, and sesame seeds and sauce). Very very disappointed in the ticket times.

After I received my second roll and finished it, server comes by and asked if I had received the rest of my food, (keep in mind I had been in the restaurant and had ordered for close to 45 minutes if not then an hour), I tell him not yet and ask for more water and he says absolutely. Never got my water, a sushi chef had to ask me if I was okay and if I wanted more water. Server goes to check on my food from other side of the bar and grabs my rolls, me KNOWING my food has just been sitting there dying with no food runner. I work in food service and completely understand if the kitchen takes a while. However with servers standing at the POS stations when there is dying food, and cooks possibly taking forever, I honestly do not know if I’ll ever return as I eat out at sushi a lot, and it was my first time here.

Very disappointed how there was clearly a lack of teamwork from the server side at least. I shouldn’t have sushi chefs coming up to me asking me if I’m okay, or if I’ve received my food, and when I say no they are confused as I see them making the food as soon and the tickets get rang in.

I never complained to a manager as I’m not that type of person, however server says I got 20% off for the long wait, but honestly that wasn’t good enough for me as I knew why it took so long. Was told at the very end that they were not going to make my last roll I originally ordered on my first order. Was super disappointed.

What really threw me for a loop was that there was a 2 top that sat next to me and the server comes by and says “I know this place is AYCE, however it won’t be worth it to you guys because we do last call, I’m just being honest as it won’t be worth it to you guys.” I could tell they were pissed by what he said but they kept it cool, and politely said they would go somewhere else. When the server walked away, as they were talking about places to go, they were clearly mad, and I felt for them. I felt as if the server didn’t want to take care of them because they came in an hour before close.

Overall I won’t be back unless friends would like to go here, I’ll just warn them about ticket times and how servers don’t want to serve their guests an hour before close. I have heard numerous guests also complaining to the workers, as well to themselves that they were not happy. Props to the sushi chefs for taking care of me as well as my server but honestly the servers could have worked better as a team. Still tipped 20% as I know they need to make money too.

Sushi Experience №117

Junn AYCE Sushi is good at game theory, but nothing special at sushi.

I support the wastage charges for people who over order. Luckily this is not what I'm talking about. Instead their games are how to slow everything but salads and alcohol down to an absolute crawl. This place was not that busy at the time, and I can only be thanked for my patience so many times before your words ring hollow.

The other tactic is to never complete an order in its entirety. These guys are genius at it. So long as you think you have multiple more rolls coming, you are less likely to order more. The food is never coming though - unless you do put in another order, then more might trickle out. (More than 3 observations to confirm the pattern.) By keeping your fulfillment chaotic, they are able to regulate their outflow and keep margins higher. I think if they teamed with AI it would be margin nirvana.

Admittedly the staple ingredients like tuna, salmon and scallop are just one step below standard Nigri quality (where most deliver 2 quality steps down for AYCE). That was a pleasant and welcome surprise.
Their spider crab was the worst I've ever had though, and their in-house creations were underwhelming.

If I was an ASU student, ignorant of value: this place was good (cause it is sushi). As an adult: this is an excellent opportunity to train yourself to spot legal consumer subterfuge.

Won't be returning, but there are plenty of new students each year. 100% would invest.

Sushi Experience №118

Half of the Nigiri came out dry, rice was not well seasoned, service was decent, half capacity had quite a wait but likely understaffed for the timing. Rolls seem good, solid variety, fresh Wasabi is a plus. If California rolls are sushi to you then you should be alright. Also they charged me AYCE for a two y/o, thought that was funny.

Price point is the best part vs some other place that charge so much for specialty rolls, then the quality of the rolls amd the taste! I went for lunch with my team for work and probably have eaten Junn at least 15 times since. I highly recommend trying Junn.

I’m not usually into all you can eat sushi, but this place changed my mind! It was absolutely delicious!!! The rolls are all made to order, which is nice because there’s a little bit of a wait between them which gives you time to breathe, digest, & prepare for the next roll(s) lol. The ASU roll & baked Alaska were my favorite. Also the green tea cheesecake was fantastic as well, the perfect amount of matcha. & 1 order comes with 2 slices. I can’t wait to come back here !!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Took 2hrs to get 5 items on the menu and was given melted ice cream to top it all off. Never got a water refill and was up charged at the end for nothing. Very rude customer service. Asked for a napkin twice and brought me one after 20 minutes. DO NOT waste your time coming here. WORSE money I ever spent. Never going back.

Horrible service, do not attempt to eat here if you have a party larger than 4. Put our name on the waitlist and showed up on time. Our group of 7 waited over an hour and we were never seated. Every 4 top that came after us was seated instead of us. The service staff absolutely refuse to put two tables together even though their tables could be moved easily. Very simple solution and they refused just because they don’t want parties larger than 4.

Owners need to figure out what is going on with their staff. They should not be refusing parties larger than 4 just because they are slightly more work.

In order to sincerely give 5/5 Stars, one must have to go 3 times for qualatitve judgement. And I've done just that -- all three times, with three different waitresses and sushi chefs, I can say it was a consistently a pleasent experience. Recognizing Mikaela, Elsa, and Hannah. Great people!! They have their own great personalities, and I still walking out smiling and full!

Overall fried sushi rolls -- 4.45/5: Whenever I go for the crunchy Philidelphia rolls or crunchy Alaskan, the breading was consistently crisp and I can still feel the fish etc being fresh in the bite. It is very difficult for me to nitpick any negatives for the rolls. I understand that cream cheese isn't a traditional ingredient to Japanese maki, but considering I'm in the States, I sure do enjoy the cream cheese with my salmon rolls. Especially when it is fried, without effecting the salmon flavor. Overmore, when I was asking Mikaela, the waitress for my first visit, she said the wasabi aioli is a specility on their fried rolls. Indeed it was! It reminded me of my childhood sushi memories, whenever I visit family in Hong Kong. So if an all you can eat place in the States can make the reminder of such memories in Asia, that is something for sure!

Nigiris: this will vary. I would have to deduct almost a star off, because the rice falls apart whenever I try to dip it in soy sauce. Not all of the fishes, but a good amount of times throughout my 3 times being here, the rice breaks. On the contrary, however, given it is an All-you-can-eat, the size and quality of the fish and rice is fabulous. The seared salmon and seared tuna is a paradise. Which the both are at a 4.6/5 stars.
Salmon Poke Bowl - 4.32/5
Mackeral - 4/5
Octopus - 4.2/5
Salmon - 4.3/5
Salmon - 4.67/5
White Fish - 4.3/5
Escolar - 4.699/5
Salmon Roe - 4.25/5

You can easily make your money's worth here. So long you are a sushi fan, it cannot let you down. Definitley try the Matcha Cocktail, well coordinated with the matcha tea flavor, with the mix of lemonade. Almost kind of like a green tea shot.

Mapped Junn on the way to an errand today and found myself in for a treat! I didn't go with AYCE, opting instead for chirashi. The freshness stood up for itself and the fish was creamy delicious! It's not often that you find a sushi bar where you don't need to slather on the condiments to make up for flabby taste - the fish quality was fantastic and the choices were thoughtful.

The quality of food has gone down quite a bit since they first opened. We loved what it was but now even the rice suffers. It's understandable if the prices have gone up to keep up with the quality but alas, we have broken up with Junn. The service is absolutely lovely though!

Great sushi and apps. Wish the sushi chefs had a venmo or something posted. They had a cash tip jar, but a lot of us just don't have cash and they made some great rolls. Spicy salmon roll had actually salmon pieces coated in spicy oil, and wasn't just blended salmon spicy mush that you'll get at a some all you can eat sushi places.

Ya know when you walk into a restaurant and the first thing you see is trash and edamame on the floor, you really should walk out. Our server was the sweetest Japanese girl who was embarrassed when I asked her to remove the salmon nigiri from my table cause it looked like it had a frigging tumor. Up to that point the food was subpar to say the least. Needless to say after the tumor salmon we were done. We will not be returning and that's so sad because this used to be one of my favorite places for sushi.

I have to agree with some of these other new comments. I have been going to Junn for years, and it was one of my absolute favorite places. High quality sushi and all you desired of it!

However, my last few visits have been really disappointing. Foremost, the sushi rice has been really bad - both in texture and flavor. The rolls are made haphazardly and lazily, and so poorly that they fall apart, with an uneven spread of their terrible rice. I haven't even liked some of the more basic rolls and nigiris lately, you can tell the fish is sorta dry and bland, and the off-taste of the rice is overpowering. I felt ill during my last visit while eating these rolls. Furthermore, one of the best things was that these sushi rolls were truly made fresh and to-order before. There is no way they still do that, even if they claim so. We had a roll delivered approximately 2 seconds after the waiter took the order. And I am not exaggerating. We were so confused as to who's it was for a moment because we had just finished ordering.

It is truly sad because this place was phenomenal, but now their sushi is inedible to me. I don't think I will be able to risk returning. I hope that they can get back to where they used to be for everyone else's sake though.

I've been here several times. Food has always been good and decent. Dined this past weekend and was disappointed in the quality. Jalapeno hamachi roll contained several bones in it. I was immediately grossed out and could hardly finish my meal. As pricey as the all you can eat is, I probably won't return. Sadly...

I'm glad I tried this all you can eat sushi place, but $27 bucks for lunch is out of my price range. There are a good amount of rolls (8 pieces), so if you can eat 4 of them, that's your moneys worth.
I like the appetizers, and there were salad options.
I would recommend trying if that's a reasonable price for you.

I've been to this place maybe 7 or 8 times now. It's usually one of the better deals for an all you can eat place. Everything is made to order and the food is typically above average for all you can eat sushi.

However, this past Friday I went there and the food quality was quite poor, all around. The rice was hard/crunchy, the nigiri was sloppy and falling apart, and the philly roll had all the cream cheese on one side.

I don't normally leave reviews like this after one bad visit, but I've seen too many restaurants go down hill lately. I'm hoping management sees this and they bounce back.

Great sushi for a good price. Especially if you catch the lunch ayce. Me and my lady had our fill of sushi and shared 2 bottles of sake for like $86 before tip (lunch ayce prices). If you go during busy dinner hours it can take a while to get your food as was our first experience here. This most recent trip was on a Friday around 2 in the afternoon and they weren't super busy making our service much quicker. I would definitely suggest taking advantage of the weekday lunch hours if you can.

I have dined at Junn at least two dozen times over the past few years and referred many friends. Initially, this restaurant was downright excellent. Great food and phenomenal service were what made it shine. Sadly, in the past year both quality and service have dropped drastically. From mushy rice to old fish and even once finding an insect in my food, I’ve seen it all. I’ve also had either myself or one of my guests experience food poisoning on two separate occasions after eating here. I have raised my concerns to the attention of management a couple of times because I genuinely wanted to keep coming back (I was long in denial and hoping that it would eventually get better), but it seems at this point the owners really don’t care about quality or service. They have enough foot traffic to get by with being mediocre.

If you’re looking for “just okay” grocery store/bodega sushi in large volumes with hit or miss customer service, you may be totally fine with your experience at Junn. This will likely be the experience on average. Once in a blue moon the stars may align and they may very well hit it out of the park. And on occasion they may have your insides feeling like they belong outside. Such an exciting relationship.

I for one will lament the quality that used to exist here and search for it elsewhere. Cheers.

Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner today and the food was amazing! Specifically, I loved the salmon. That being said, unfortunately the service was extremely slow. While our waiter kept checking on us regularly, the wait time to get each dish kept increasing, nearly to 30 minutes for one plate. As for atmosphere, we were seated in the 'extra' seating area, which was rather unimpressive, especially in comparison to the lively main area/bar.

Food was alright for AYCE- they have good quality fish and a wide array of rolls and nigiri to choose from. They no longer include sashimi as part of their AYCE which was disappointing. Their hot foods were okay at best and the service and turnaround time for orders got off to a great start then suddenly tanked with everything taking a substantial amount of time to come out after the first "wave." That said, their a la carte sashimi was great albeit limited in selection.

My opinion has changed a bit from last year. Scroll all the way down for the update. Terrible. I got all you can eat.6/18/21 the catch is the all you can eat quality is trash. the salmon/tuna nigiri I received was not cut as sushi should be it was almost 1/4" thick on rice. the eel tasted old, and was definitely reheated. the point of sushi is a thin slice... cut with a sharp blade. none of which was done, the sushi was not even cut well it was not a uniform piece. looked like a sushi chef who knows nothing about sushi. also there was no fat on the tuna or salmon, literally none. the taste was terribly fishy/gamey) for sushi. seems they need to check their cooler temp because I guarantee the temp is too high in the sushi compartments. First time I came here prolly a year or so ago I threw up right after eating the food. how do they have 4.5 stars????? Updated 10/3/22 ok so I tried junn again and this time it was great, we got there before lunch rush and the food was good, fresh and was provided quickly. I would rate this visit 4 stars. Also the chef today knew how to cut sushi so idk what happened last time.So good job on the rebound!
Went 5/16/24 for lunch it was great my favorite all you can eat sushi place currently. Very delicate fatty salmon nigiri with amazing taste, my favorite roll is the Broadway roll 😄 also you patched the hole in the side wall I'll even up atmosphere for that.

dined in today and had a very odd interaction with our server, sora. she only came over once while we were eating, and at the end when charging my card she asked me to sign the device when i realized she had given HERSELF a 20% tip without asking or allowing me to adjust it. when my friend noticed the same, he asked if he could adjust it and she gave off a very irritable attitude. it has nothing to do with the amount and i would have gladly tipped her, just very odd to do it yourself without consulting your guests.
