Thoughtfully sourced seafood flown in fresh daily from around the world. Impeccable ingredients speak for themselves. We go the distance to source our seafood, meats, and produce directly from fishers and farmers who share our commitment to quality, transparency, and sustainable practices. Our guiding philosophy is simple: superior ingredients, perfectly executed.
Our commitment to quality goes far beyond seafood. Steaks come from our special B&R Reserve beef program: USDA certified, aged, and cut to our specifications. Our cocktails follow the same ingredient-driven philosophy, made with hand-squeezed juices and premium spirits.
This may be our favorite of the Buck & Rider locations and one of a small number of go-tos for excellent, fine-dining seafood and a great atmosphere. We like everything about it: the steel-truss rafters with wood planking above and pinpoint lighting give the dining room a feel that is both airy and intimate. The restaurant is always bustling and busy but the sound level doesn’t hinder conversation and the tables are well-spaced. We also love the energy of the open kitchen and raw bar, which radiates into the space. We haven’t dined at the bar yet, but it looks like great fun. The outdoor patio is also spacious, lit with strings of Edison bulbs, and anchored by a huge pass-through fireplace with roaring fire. On our most recent visit we enjoyed four different oysters from the raw bar, and ceviche, which was tasty and generous. The fresh seafood choices are always excellent, as is the service.

This was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in my life. My husband and I stopped here for the last dinner of our honeymoon, and we are so glad we chose Buck and Rider. As soon as we walked in and they found out it was our honeymoon, we were treated like family immediately! Our server, Hailey B, made this a true dining experience with great food and drink recommendations, lots of information of the menu ready, and even was friendly and talkative about our honeymoon and excited to see wedding photos. The manager came out to congratulate us and they put a congratulatory note on their board in the restaurant, which was so sweet. To top it off, the food was the best and was so fresh, from the raw bar, the entrees, and dessert, everything was a 10/10! If you’re in the area, make it a point to stop here and ask for Hailey B as your server!

I tried two appetizers and a side. The baked oysters were fresh and delicious. It was a nice combination of smoky and crunchy. The trout dip knocked my socks off. It was amazing, and I'll go back for these two dishes again! The place smelled good inside. It was clean, and the service was fast.

Walked in to a freezing restaurant. The ambiance was beautiful, the hostesses were nice, the woman who sat us at our tables was charming.
My experience with my waitress was extremely unacceptable. When the waitress saw that my group didn’t order alcoholic drinks, she visibly expressed disappointment and annoyance. While putting in our drink orders, a couple of my party asked for soups, since it was so cold. I mentioned to hold off on them since my entire party hadn’t arrived yet. A few minutes later, we were still served soups. I promptly asked to not have them served yet since my full party hadn’t arrived. We were given a very visible snarky attitude as a result. We asked for waters with no ice. The water was actually WARM and then the waitress mocked my group saying you must be out of town. Do AZ restaurants usually serve warm water? No. Afterward, my waitress didn’t bring me the hot water I asked for (asked three times).
Finally, two soups were brought back, not three. I had to ask the waitress for my soup. When it came, it was cold. At this point, the service was so bad that I bluntly mentioned it to my waitress that we didn’t appreciate her attitude. Every time something was mentioned, she doubled down. At that point, I just told her I didn’t want the clam chowder and to take the soup back, as it had nasty with a film on top (see pics and video). She had the nerve to bring it back and it was literally boiling still, clearly having been thrown into a microwave (see pic). What seemed like the manager came to check on my group, he apologized for my soup experience, and I mentioned to him that the service was atrocious and unacceptable, then he simply walked away, unwilling to listen. My group at that point asked for the bill and never even put in an entree order. Absolutely awful experience. This was absurd.

Very busy Sunday brunch, we sat indoors. Great ambiance. Ordered a 50% off bottle of processo for our fresh grapefruit Mimosas. Shared a scrumptious smoked trout dip. Very yummy. Swordfish tacos were a bit underwhelming but still tasty. Nothing that a few splashes of green Tabasco sauce couldn’t fix. 😉 Also ordered crab cake Eggs Benedict with a lightly poached egg. Loved it after salting it a bit. Food was just bland this am. All in all still a great brunch. I’ll be going back to try the raw bar.

While visiting Scottsdale, we made a reservation for Buck & Rider. I highly suggest this restaurant. The service, food and value was top-tier. We decided to share three appetizers and split our main course ( sorry no picture of the main course ). The fall apart dinner rolls were to die for. The crispy brussel sprouts were amazing and a great portion size. The crispy shrimp roll was also very, very good. Our main was the shrimp risotto. This is the only dish we wish was a little larger, especially because we split it but was also very good. The server was great, very attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They do offer outside seating, but we sat inside. We definitely will be back.

Good food and excellent service. 👨🍳
Oyster taste very fresh. 🦪
Drinks are amazing I recommend “40 love”.🍹
Also, we were waiting our table at the bar section and the girl offer a drink while we were waiting but she didn’t say the drinks are not happy hour and charged at regular price (Monday 5 pm).

We’ve been to and love their other location on Camelback but since we were closer to this location we decided to give it a try. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice.Everything we sampled was delicious. Service was terrific and friendly. The cocktails were perfect.Parking is actually considerably easier at this spot but their other location as with this one does offer valet service. So you can’t go wrong at either location and we will certainly be back soon. We rate Buck&Ryder a top Phoenix culinary destination.

Incredible food, the crispy tuna rice and shrimp risotto were fantastic. Seafood flown in fresh daily and it is evident in the quality. The pull apart rolls were delicious as well. Wasn't expecting much from the fried chicken appetizer at a seafood spot but was pleasantly surprised, even that was great.
In addition to loving the food, I don't know the last time we had service as great as we did at Buck & Rider tonight. Huge shout out to the entire staff, what a great experience!

Fish and chips were not well battered and cooked. Batter on fish was wet underneath and not crispy at all. Great sauces and best lemon meringue, but when you fail the entree it sticks in your memory.

My fiance had made a reservation here for my birthday for the first time. When we got there they told us there was a wait and a few people ahead of us and we could wait at the bar or by the fire pits. We saw many open tables so we were confused when we had made a reservation. We were waiting for over 35 minutes until we decided to leave after asking a couple times when we would be seated, however she hardly acknowledged us and said they were people ahead of us. Felt better going to waffle house than here.

Our server, Tina, was amazing. We loved that this location allowed a waiting area besides the bar to relax, get drinks and feel welcomed. We were able to relax during our dining experience and not feel rushed during the holiday rush. To also have the manager come by and ask how our experience was going, is an added touch to show they care about us while there.

Always love coming here whenever I am back in AZ! The oyster selection is stellar. Their HH is really good, with cheap oysters, big plates of ceviche, the fried rice is really good etc. I've only come here for full dinner service once but I'm usually satisfied with just the HH!

Having the best oysters you've had in quite some time sitting in the desert don't seem to go together. But I cannot say enough about the quality of the oysters. Service was exceptional also. Did I mention the oysters?

Great spot overall! The shrimp risotto is incredible, and the oysters at $2.50 during happy hour are a must-have—so fresh and tasty. The sushi is decent, but the rice is a bit off. Clam chowder is solid, but skip the ceviche. Fried calamari was just meh. Definitely coming back for the risotto and oysters!

Best oysters I’ve had in years!
The variety changes every day.
I love that the available oyster menu is posted online every morning!
Best nigiri I’ve had in the U.S. also in years.
The chinook I’ve ever tasted!
I was able to trade for half a crab cake, and was super impressed!

Ode to Hailey B.
Great is thy service. Excellence is an art that’s become a mere jump rope to you. You double Dutch your way through our hearts.
To the owners or whatever soulless private equity firm that owns this place - I want you to know that your business is nothing - I repeat, nothing - without her soul and spirit.
Keep her, cherish her, reward her - without her service your building is a husk. Without her care and attention, this place is but concrete and pleather. Thank you to Hailey B., may your Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanza/Holidays be merry and bright✨✨

Beautiful restaurant and good food. That said, I think the original location on Camelback is better run and has nicer wait staff.
I usually come here for the crab cakes or nigiri. I've had their steak with a baked potato that was excellent, but wasn't a fan of their shrimp and grits and I got the burger that was dry and tasteless. Also found the wedge salad ( with and without crab) to be 'meh'.
Speaking of crabby. Depending on the day of the week. Some of the bartenders are less than friendly.
If you have room for desert. Check out the lemon meringue pie.

We came in with a client and it could not have been any more perfect. The ambiance was amazing with the holiday decorations, the food was incredible and the service was top notch. We made a request for a special message on the board and it came on after we ordered desserts and wowed everyone. The night was perfect and Mike Casey (GM) was so easy to work with and make the reservation. 5 stars!!

The good news about the $29 King Crab Roll is that it’s real crab! Bad news is, it contains shells so be careful if you order it! We had two pieces with 1/2” square shells in them. It was great they replaced it, but not so great we had to wait 15 minutes for a replacement and they did nothing to recognize they made a mistake. They just pretended nothing happened. Pretty bad customer service.

Went for happy hour. Good bar selection. Service was not 5 star. When all bar help arrived they seemed to be more interested in talking and staying together. Hardest worker was that gal preparing oysters and sushi dishes. Crab cake had a great sauce but lacked enough crab. Oysters were half good. Sweet ones were soft and mushy. Buck and Ridder ones were great. Well presented

UPDATE: GM of this restaurant handled the situation perfectly. They are looking into the issue and will make sure to address. They also refunded our entire meal. I appreciate the class and the quick action! Kudos to teams handling matters like this appropriatley!
I hate to leave such a nasty review but I mean after you spend over $300 at a restaurant only to be stuck at home for 2 days so sick you can barely get off the bathroom floor, it deserves to be highlighted to other patrons. Went here on Thursday night for a date. The service was great, the ambiance was nice (a little loud), and the food was also good (so I thought). We ordered a few oysters, shrimp to start. I had the scallops on rosotto and my date had the crab cakes. We even ordered gellato at the end. I mean we did the whole experience. We shared everything we ate (with our own forks, plates) and both came down sick as dogs about 24 hours later. It was the worst bout of food poisoning I have ever had. We will file a report but it's worth noting to customers to beware.

This is my first time to Buck & Rider Scottsdale, and I'm a regular at Lure Fish House so I was excited to try B&R to see how it compared to LFH. Overall I'd say B&R is just as good as LFH when it comes to taste, maybe a little better since it isn't as salty in its seasoning which I prefer (I've got to add I eat food less salty than most but for seafood it has to be less salty to taste the delicate flavors). Selection at B&R was better with more types of fishes available. The ambience was about the same. Where LFH was better was portion sizes and also better value. Overall I enjoyed B&R, and would recommend B&R to my friends and family.

I don’t know why I dislike this place so much. On the surface it’s decorated nicely and looks upscale. But in reality, it’s always extremely noisy, small and crowded all the time. The restaurant is neither fancy nor casual, and fails at both. The atmosphere is of a seafood restaurant but maybe it just doesn’t feel authentic and is more corporate/commercial? I’m not sure but I don’t enjoy it.
What it really boils down to though, is the food. I don’t like it. The restaurant exists in some sort of middle ground between high end and low end, and the food is not super nice, but they try to differentiate it by adding all of these weird flavors into the foods which results in me not even liking the most basic of dishes. I don’t like the fried rice, I don’t like the tuna tartare, I don’t like the goat cheese of all things. I don’t understand how basic dishes can become unlikable. Even the stuff like the sushi would rather just go down the street to someplace like sushi brokers. I haven’t had the fish, that could be their specialty. I don’t remember how I felt about some steak, but if I remember correctly, it just wasn’t anything to write home about and the prices aren’t cheap.
The clam chowder was good, and the lemon meringue pie was also delicious. But the pie has given both my mom and I extreme intestinal distress multiple times after eating it. I do not know what is in that pie, but it really messes up my stomach and makes me, and apparently some people related to me, run straight to the bathroom immediately after consuming it. And that doesn’t happen with any other foods. But I have had it twice even with the initial consequences, so maybe that speaks to how delicious it is.
Anyway, I’ve come here numerous times because both my friends and my family enjoy this place so I don’t know why I’m the outlier. But even though when I come with my family they pay for my food, I would still rather not come.

I think when I finally figured out how to order off of the 5 different menus the waitress was surprised. Like she didn't expect me to order such expensive options. Very pretentious and that's just not for me at this point in my life. Food was good. But very expensive.

This place really disappointed! Went there Friday placed my order at 9:19pm, asked for salmon cooked well . 20 minutes later foods comes salmon is almost raw . I politely asked to have my salmon cooked well, bar waiter was apologetic and put a new order in, now this place has an open kitchen where we cans see our food being cooked and the employees preparing it. I noticed that I started to get stares from the kitchen employees, stares like who brought this food back. I see the cook put my salmon on the grill and I waited.. second times foods comes salmon is less cooked than the first order… I mean cold in the middle of the fish and raw meat .. uggghhh! 5 minutes later manager come by and says wellhi, I guess we failed you twice so we’ll take food off ordered, she
Said I don’t know whats going on back there I have to talk to my head chief, now it looked like the guy cooking was the head chief perhaps because he has regular clothes on the regular uniform the other employees wore.. I asked the manager if they could make it well, she says yes they could but they are now closed… yikes! Ans she walked away… it was almost as if they knew they would be closed be time my second order came and purposely didn’t cook it well the second because maybe they were mad I sent it back .. this place has changed and is not as good as it used to be to be and the I really wasn’t happy with how I was handle . It was kinda like yeah we kissed up we won’t charge you so oh well kinda attitude. Guess I’ll have to corporate!

Picked the place at we loved it. The food was excellent and the staff were great. We sat at the bar. The open kitchen concept is cool and there is plenty interior amd exterior searing. I wasn't sure about the quality of seafood, given it's Arizona, but no worries as it was top class. Will be recommending this place to my friends coming out here

This is my husband and I's favorite place in the valley! Been here so many times and the service is always incredible, food is amazing, and ambiance is perfect. We also had the pleasure of having Hailey as our waitress that last two times we dined - and she is THE best. So sweet and thoughtful in remembering us and our conversations each time! Highly recommend this location for any occasion!

Great food and staff! Had a wonderful experience with staff that was so accommodating and going above and beyond, not just taking our order. Everything we ordered was delicious and filling. Highly recommended!

First time at the Scottsdale location, and was equally as great as their Phoenix spot. Food menu was consistent with what we have come to expect from Buck & Rider. As always, solid cocktails too. Service was outstanding as well (thanks Nolan)!

Wife and I visited for date night. Nice location, a little more interior space and parking than the Camelback location. Food was fantastic as always, excellent value on happy hour.

Dinner was fabulous and our server Hailey B was so personable and attentive we really enjoyed our evening. Her recommendations were amazing. From our cocktails, appetizers and entree (dessert too) she read us like a book. We really having her as our server. Thanks for having us Flagstaff girls headed to Greece.

I have always loved the Camelback location, but the one on Mayo is closer to my home.
Dined at the bar, the service is always amazing and so is the food. Had Crab cakes with asparagus and it was absolutely delicious. I wanted to let Chef and kitchen staff know that I was very impressed with the food. Dimitry was one of the managers on the floor and spoke with him in regards to the experience. Thank you to the bar staff, Dimitry for truly knowing what a manager should be. Great work to all staff!

Came here for happy hour with some friends. Didn't know that there was separate seating, so we had to switch tables. It's mainly seafood, which I am not a fan of, but I did get the salted rolls that were excellent. Both cocktails I tried were also really good. My friend got the crispy skin salmon which I had a bite of and actually didn't mind!! The skin was yummy! I was shocked I liked it. Here is a video of me trying an oyster for the first time... hope you enjoy it more than I did. I only ordered 1 but would be down to try it with a different topping next time. The taste wasn't bad it was more a texture thing. (They are only 3.50$ each during happy hour!)

Our first visit for a celebratory dinner was outstanding. The attentiveness of the servers and speed of our food was impressive. The seafood and steak were excellent. Most impressed with the service. We requested a quiet spot because I am hearing impaired, the staff kindly moved us a few times to ensure we were comfortable. The manager delighted us with some kind words about our anniversary. The quality and personalize service made for a special experience!

It’s good for Arizona since we are far from the ocean. But if you grow up from somewhere close to the sea ( Boston, NYC, Seattle, DC, Etc.), then it's just ok. Nice alcoholic beverages, oysters were very strong, one dish was cold when served, and it’s not cheap for what it is. Particularly for the price of oysters, I would rather go to Zinc Bistro at Kierland, it’s just better quality.

Horrible hostess. I made a reservation and they never stated inside or outside. She sits us outside in 108 degree heat. What’s the point of reservation if you will sit us outside anyway? Other options are as to wait for a seat. What’s the point of a reservation?

We’ve been to and love their other location on Camelback but since we were closer to this location we decided to give it a try. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice.Everything we sampled was delicious. Service was terrific and friendly. The cocktails were perfect.Parking is actually considerably easier at this spot but their other location as with this one does offer valet service. So you can’t go wrong at either location and we will certainly be back soon. We rate Buck&Ryder a top Phoenix culinary destination.

Service much better on this $150 comp to make up for a first time terrible experience Great time this 2nd time accept for not being able to leave balance as a tip and had to pay separately even though we paid the entire $150 the first time.

We've been here several times and have never had anything other than amazing food and service. Outstanding food options and all are very good. This is our go-to seafood restaurant but their steak and burger are also fantastic.

Went there for happy hour, very crowded. Had reservations, waited 20min. Orderd drinks while waiting, had to pay full price. When finally seated, we weren't in the "Happy Hour" section, so couldn't order happy hour items. Hostess was was rude. Said we could be put on a wait list to be sat in the happy hour section, but there were 14 ahead of us. We chose to leave. Went to Blue Water Grill and had a fabulous time.
