It was a nice little spot; the drinks were good, the sushi rolls had an interesting twist of ingredients, and there were clean bathrooms. Minor complaint dining area is a bit tight for me. We will eat outside next time seems like more space.

Sushi options were fantastic. Service was pretty good, and the ambiance was nice. They have old school rock music videos playing. The sushi was tasty and we didn't wait very long for our orders to come out. I never visited the bathrooms but overall I've been to this location twice already and I will be going back. Highly recommend.

I never ever leave bad reviews places, but this has got to be a joke. I was so excited to eat my crispy rice after splurging on it to celebrate tonight. I open my package and realize there is little to no tuna on the rice, and what tiny amount there is does not look appealing at all. I was so excited to find a sushi place close to my house but if this is the kind of food I’m gonna get for $30, I’ll drive the extra 15 minutes to the place I was going to before. (Btw the thing I’m holding is the “spicy tuna”)

New place in the Goodyear area. If you are a Gen Xer you are going to love this 80's themed Rock bar. The atmosphere is just what you thought you would do to your home bar when you were a teen in the 80's. The food and service are great. If you love sushi or want a cool place for drinks, this is a must.

Good nigiri and excellent service. Having lived in Okinawa for a year i know good sushi, this place won't disappoint. The young lady server was the best, didn't interrupt while eating but was right there when I wanted more. 🙂

I wish I had one of these where I live! Great atmosphere, can't go wrong with rock music videos and fantastic sushi! Stopped in for a quick lunch break. Got the headliner combo to go with the Punk Rock Roll: Shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cream cheese inside, seared yellowfin tuna outside, topped with strawberry-avocado-jalapeño-cucumber salad, sweet-chili-ponzu dressing, spicy mayo and eel sauce. I will absouktley hit this place up again!

overall pretty good food, got two rolls i don’t remember which ones. both were great. and the potstickers were really good.
service was good, but not great.
atmosphere is fine, it was a little loud for my dining preferences.

update: went back and the food was not nearly as good. i always get deep fried rolls because i don’t like my sushi too fishy or uncooked. it was both - severely disappointed.
my friend got rice and the portion was small for the price. egg rolls are 2 cut in half - weirdest thing i’ve ever seen.
still too loud, everyone is yelling for no reason.

This is the ultimate Gen X restaurant. They have great music / videos of our era and the food was awesome. We aren't sushi people, but we did have the filet and the chicken. Excellent! It was fun watching the videos of the people of our youth and talk about how old everyone is now - except Lenny Kravitz. The man doesn't age. We will be back!

First time dinning in, the atmosphere was good, but the quality of the rolls were not, compared to other local sushi spots. My husband’s Ramen was lukewarm and felt undercooked. My sushi rolls didn’t taste very fresh and presentation of food was mediocre. Overall I’d probably choose a different sushi spot.

Ramen was great. The rolls were ok. Lighting was a bit too dark for me and the TVs playing rock music were a bit too loud for conversation. But it's a nice spot. Small but with enough seating. I'd go back to try a few more things on the menu.

In from out of town. Great bar for lunch on your own. Recommendation from Mandy for the punk rock roll which was amazing. Met the owner Scott who is hands on and you can tell is invested with the staff and customers. Will come back again for the happy hour menu. Great spot in Goodyear for sushi.

Wasn’t super impressed with the place. The place was basically empty when we got there, but it took a decent amount of time to get a starter soup. When food came out all of it was cold….fries, rice, steak, everything. For the cost, it was not worth it and I would not go back.

I ordered online and arrived at my pickup time, I had to wait, which was no problem. But I had the feeling I needed to check my bag, and I'm glad I did. I was missing a roll. Had to wait about 15/20 minutes for my roll. They checked to make sure I wasn't missing anything else. I left and arrived home to find out I was missing ANOTHER roll. I tried to call to see if they could just reimburse me the money, but no one answered the phone. So I had to drive back. When I arrived, the staff was like I thought I put that in there. Oopsy. 😑 They made the roll, and I had to wait AGAIN. By the time I got home, I missed having dinner with my family, and my hibachi meal was cold. Would never come back again. The place wasn't even busy.

Most rolls are filled with cream cheese or doused in spicy mayo.

Fish in the rolls was minimal and both nigiri and rolls were meh quality

Kids chicken teriyaki didn’t include any veggies and the amount of chicken (which were small cut up bits) was laughable. and the kids meals didn’t come with a drink which we didn’t realize until getting the bill and charge $3 each for kids drinks.

$111 for subpar sushi and two kid meals. For the prices they charge you can definitely get better sushi and better quality and cuts of fish elsewhere.

Atmosphere is good with good music and service was okay.

We met for a dinner meeting after hearing that the sushi was really good. The sushi was pretty good. The service was OK. The unexpected part was the breakout in to karaoke by some less that great singers. I guess this is what they meant by Rock N Roll Sushi. I was definitely rockin' in there. I think I'll hit it up again, but for lunch next time.

We’ve been in at least 5 times. The food is always incredible. The last few times tho the service has gotten worse. Everyone is always so friendly just not very attentive. The last time we were in we would have loved to order more food but we didn’t see our server for about 20 minutes. So we ended up just leaving! It’s a bummer!

The food was good, fun rolls, good flavors. The down side was they were limited on fresh fish rolls which is the purpose if Sushi.

This is a small cool place that you can watch old

Ordered off Uber eats and when my order was dropped off it came opened. You can tell they had it stapled shut. Not sure what happened there but some of our order was missing. Not only that my fillet was so dry and tough, Not at all medium rare. Did not enjoy my meal whatsoever. Also I had ordered 3 kids steak and got only 2 steak and 1 chicken. The receipt clearly says 3 kids steak. Don’t think I’ll be ordering from here again.

I'm trying it for a second time.
Outdoor post highlights reverse happy hour from 7 to 10pm. According to staff, it ended at 5pm, but sign is still outside. Ordered food and it took longer than expected for not being busy. Staff seem distracted. Food was ok, not much to brag about.

We really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was not good. Our wontons sat in the window for about 10 minutes before being delivered to our table(we were the only ones in there), plus our salad was delivered at the same time as the appetizer. We asked for silverware and were told they didn’t have any clean but they would bring us some in a few minutes. After about 15 minutes we finally got some plastic ones that they put in their carry out bags. We really messed up by ordering the hibachi chicken. The chicken and the rice were so dry you pretty much had to choke it down. Hopefully it was just an off night but we won’t be going back.

The sushi I ordered for pick up was ok. It was expensive as sushi usually is. I just didn’t think it was worth the $37 I paid for 2 orders of sushi rolls. By the time I got home 4 minutes, My food was cold … one of my orders was supposed to be hot. It was ok, the environment looks really nice.

I never heard of this restaurant, I randomly found it on Door Dash and thought it sounded good. So glad we tried it! The kids ordered the kids Habachi with steak and the potstickers, literally all gone! I ordered the Crowd Surfer Roll it was really good with the perfect amount of heat. We will definitely go in next time and do dinner in the restaurant to get the full experience.

I wanted to love this place. It’s local, the vibes are cool, and the music theme is awesome. On my first try here, I had a very bad experience. The cups were dirty, the food took forever to come out, and the waitress was not attentive. I didn’t want to leave a bad review on the first try, but after a second bad experience, I feel compelled to share. On my second time around, I came in a month later and I had a similar experience to the first time. I wanted to give this place a chance at redemption, but I will not be returning.

Went for the first time with my family and I was really disappointed. We got the appetizer sampler, some sushi rolls and hibachi plates.
The sampler was good, I didn’t care for the potstickers or the jalapeño poppers but the fried wontons and the egg rolls were really good.
The sushi rolls were good but expensive for how basic they are. And I’m confused why there are multiple rolls on the menu that are the exact same thing? The thriller roll and jailhouse roll are literally the exact same thing? cold crawfish on a warm fried roll was weird I didn’t eat the crawfish.
The hibachi plate wasn’t good. I got the trio. Not worth $30 at all. I got mushed up veggies, bland fried rice, the steak was burnt and they just tried to cover that up with the teriyaki sauce. The chicken was dry and again, covered with sauce. Both were too salty. The shrimp was the only decent part of the plate and there were maybe 5 pieces so out of a $30 plate I got 5 shrimp.
The service was good and it’s a cute place but for what you’re paying I expected way better quality food.

Very underwhelming and ultimately a wasted visit. Long wait times, long intervals between wait staff coming by and only got a refill once without having to ask. The appetizers were dreadful. Edamame was dry, hard, wrinkled, and inedible. Jalapeño poppers were 70% bread, 25% crab stick, and 5% jalapeño. They serve sashimi on a literal mountain of lettuce (just why?) and make no attempt to garnish the rolls + skimp massively on wasabi & ginger. The rolls were okay at best but no ingredients were very flavorful. Plus practically everything is tempura and ALL but three are shrimp rolls. I guess the draw is a bunch of speakers on the wall and some mic lights?
Prices don't justify the quality of food or service. A freaking Sapporo is still $4 on happy hour which is just hilarious.
Definitely wouldn't bother with this place unless you're taking geriatrics who don't like sushi or just have no tastes buds left.

Finally had a chance to pick up some food from here. Staff was great and although on the small side, looks like a great place to sit and eat. The food at the Goodyear location was great, service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. The evening we came to try it for the first time they had great music playing on the TVs, not too loud but just the right volume to enjoy and still talk at our table. Wow, I am surprised this restaurant currently has 4+ stars. My gf and I love sushi and we were extremely disappointed today.
Service was pretty good, minus the fact that there are no napkins on any of the tables. We had to wait a while to ask for them.
The appetizer sampler was actually pretty good, but somewhat lacking in flavor.
I ordered the velcro pygmy sushi roll, and was so sad that it had literally no flavor. All I tasted was rice, and a small amount of smokiness from the salmon. Just very bland.
My girlfriend ordered fried rice, and it tasted like old oil or maybe that it was burned. It just was not good
The drink I ordered they were out of.
Overall, we were extremely disappointed that the food was mostly tasteless and bland. This place was extremely pricey for the low quality. I hate to say it, but this is the worst sushi I've ever had. If you want really good sushi, get Mom's Poke in Buckeye or go to Kabuki. So much better.

Rock n Roll Sushi just opened up in Goodyear and we tried it this weekend and what a surprise. The rolls are different than other sushi places and they were delicious. The electric roll was the favorite of the 4 we had, punk rock roll was a close second. I would definitely recommend coming here for sushi.

The food was subpar, especially for the price. Everything we ordered was supposed to be hot, but was barely above room temperature. The miso soup was bland and didn’t have tofu, which is typically my favorite part. The steak and chicken was salty, but didn’t have much flavor aside from that. The fried wontons were undercooked and sort of soggy with little flavor.

Since the restaurant is new, it obviously looks well kept and was clean. It was SUPER loud and has screens with rock music playing everywhere, which actually scared my son because the videos were “creepy.” I am sure that’s part of the vibe since it’s “Rock N Roll Sushi,” but it definitely isn’t very family friendly if your kids are under 8.

The service was great, however. We were seated quickly and the server was very attentive. We probably won’t be back since an appetizer and two meals was almost $100 and for that price I would rather to a more traditional hibachi experience.

We've been here 3 times now. The first two times, Sophia was our waitress and was fantastic! So friendly and knowledgeable! So the 3rd time we specifically requested her. I love that she remembers us and what we like! We'll be coming back for years, hopefully always to Sophia!

Just got back from dinner here with some girl friends. We had a wonderful time, thanks mostly in part to our server, Rylee. She was amazing!! She gave us adequate time to order, timed orders so they came out at the same time, and even comped us a roll we had ordered that she didn’t think “looked right”.

The place was crowded for a Friday evening but we were seated under 30min. The drinks were good, the sushi was very flavorful (super creative menu!) and the atmosphere was a really fun spot for a girls night. It IS very loud in there but you can hear conversations at your table. I’m not 100% sure Id bring my kids here (they aren’t sushi fans anyway). There are TVs everywhere blasting rock music videos - many of which weren’t appropriate for young children.

My only complaint was how SMALL the restaurant is - but it works and flows smoothly despite the small space.

Overall the food was good and we weren’t disappointed. It was just a little pricey for what we got. We got the crowd surfer roll, spider roll (my fav, and they made it very well) punk rock, sweet home Alabama and head banger shrimp. The only roll I didn’t really like was the sweet home Alabama, the inside seemed like it was all cream cheese and mooshy. The spider roll is my favorite roll, and I really liked how they made it, but it only had 4 pieces. The head banger shrimp was also really good, but it didn’t need the bed of lettuce it came on, it just got soggy.

Went for lunch with my daughter last week and it was disappointing.

We waited about 10 minutes before a server came to the table ( 3 music videos). There were 7 tables occupied, including us, at the time. My daughter could see them talking to each other in the back.
The food came out fairly quickly, it was good and flavorful.
The server didn't come check on us until our food was almost gone.
My daughter is a server and could run circles around those girls.
Oh and it was freezing in there!

Some of the best sushi pursue of the Pacific Northwest who actually had the freshest fish available. Rock and Roll Sushi was very good food. The servers were friendly and efficient. The anisotropic was good but the restaurant was a but loud.

I loved the theme, decor, and food/drink names of this place. Our waiter, Sophia V, was very sweet. It did take a while for our food and drinks to arrive. The food was delicious and definitely worth the price 🍣 The drinks were good. The tables were a bit close, and it did feel cramped. Overall, I loved it here and will definitely be coming back 🤩

Is it possible to give this place a minus "0". I base my experience from start to finish. I was greeted by a hostess today for an early lunch around 1145am, there are 6 tables in the center of the restaurant, I chose one, but she said it was not cleaned. Hmmm. so why wasn't it, since the restaurant was not busy at all, so she sat me at a 4 top by the front door. She's the hostess, so I let it be.
It took the server a little over 5 mins to get to me. Again, keep in mind the restaurant was not busy. She offered me water to start but no other drink.
I asked of her suggestions, typical response "everything is good". So it's apparent she has not tasted her own workplace/ restaurant food nor study about it.
I ordered a Hibachi dish of veggies w/ fried rice, it came with a salad (with hardly any dressing). the veggies were over cooked & soggy from too much sauce, which made it salty. I asked for black pepper, the restaurant does not have any, except she said only in packets, but she did not bother to bring me any black pepper.
As I was trying to enjoy a nice rewarded lunch by myself, I over hear the next table restaurant service by the gentleman, engaging and providing great service. It's too bad I didn't get the same service.
I sat at the table a good 15 mins. after my meal until I started to rise up from my chair to ask for assistance (a box & check so that I hurry & pay and leave this uncomfortable restaurant). The server came, gave me a black hand held "toast" electronic machine to pay my own bill & walked away. So much so, that I could have walked out with the electronic mechanism, because she never returned back to my table. I left it there, got up, purposely asked for a paper receipt. She's lucky she got $3 tip, when it should have been a hand written tip or $0.
Very poor service & for a new restaurant that hasn't been open for a week, sad to say the other competitor up the street, Akai Hana is so much better, real sushi, larger menu, ambiance and stellar is superb. and worth the price. Plus, the music is not blasting in the restaurant with only 9 people in there.

Really wanted to like this place more but fell short. Lots of anticipation w this place, was excited for Goodyear. Good location. We went on a Saturday around 4. Wasn’t too busy which was nice. Place is smaller in the inside not a whole lot of seating. But a good amount of outdoor seating. They don’t take reservations which is a bummer. Walked in wasn’t greeted, staff didn’t seem too friendly or enthusiastic. Not sure if that’s part of the whole “rock” vibe maybe it is never been to a RNR sushi before. Sat at the bar. Ambience inside is great. Lots of decor, music. They were having an issue w the music as the same 4 songs kept getting played over and over again. Heard other customers complaining. Felt bad for the staff having to listen to the same songs on repeat maybe that’s why they weren’t too happy. Our bartender was nice. Food came out relatively quick. We got the angry edamame which was just regular edamame with a small amount of paprika on it. Little disappointed there. Ordered the rainbow roll and some nigiri. Wife got the rock lobster roll and spicy crawfish roll. Rock lobster roll was not worth the $17. Spicy crawfish was good, never had that before would order again. The rainbow was good, would get again. The nigiri, specifically the salmon nigiri was excellent. Some of the best I’ve ever had the salmon just melts in your mouth. They give you plastic cups you can take home that’s cool. Overall I think some of the things were just because they are new. Food quality wasn’t any better than ah so, ah hai or akai Hana. Ambience is definitely the best, once they get the playlist fixed. Will probably go again at some point hope they will be better next time.

Don’t both with this place!! We got sat right away. We were super excited to try this place. When we got sat at our table we were told that our server would be right with us, but all servers would pass our table without stopping at ours. At least four groups of people got sat and helped. We continued to sit there and look around waiting for someone to approach our table but no one ever came. We finally just got up and left without saying a word. Will never be going back or recommending that people go here. It makes me wonder why no one ever came to our table…..this was such an awful experience.

My husband and I were very excited to discover this new establishment on our side of town. We went this evening for an early dinner around 6 PM and we were sat immediately. The restaurant was indeed full but our waitress came over almost immediately and took our drink orders. After approximately 15 minutes, the waitress never came back, although she walked past us several times and even made eye contact, she never returned. Needless to say we did not get our drinks nor did we get any type of acknowledgment. Therefore we ended up leaving. As we walked out the door, we passed the hostess who also did not acknowledge us leaving although our table was directly in front of the bar and clearly visible for the entire staff to see. Maybe we'll try again and I'll update my review at that time, but it was pretty disappointing and a little awkward. Waitress name was Sara.

The hubby and I tried this place on a Tuesday night and had such a great experience that we went back the next night for more. Everything we tried had incredible flavor. From the Sake-Rita and Japanese Whiskey Sour to the appetizers and the sushi rolls. The Maine Event is to die for! The portion is plenty to share. The jalapeño poppers have crab inside and they are the best we’ve ever had. We tried The Experience, VIP, and Groupie Rolls. All of them were delicious. The prices are very reasonable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Louie and Michael took excellent care of us. Scott genuinely cares about providing a unique, high quality experience for all of the customers. We loved the music and videos. You can even rock out in the restroom! 🤘😂 We have a new favorite restaurant! Looking forward to returning and trying the potstickers and more sushi!

What an awesome place! From the minute we walked in, we felt welcome. Great atmosphere. Our server Nate was top notch. Never an empty glass. Food came out super fast & was absolutely delicious. I have lived in several states and throughout all state I look for my “favorite sushi place”. I have been searching for one in my area for a long time. Then my friend told me to try this place. Actually it’s a WOW SUSHI PLACE. Not only is the food amazing but the staff is very friendly and you can tell that it’s a great environment. I am a very picky person and this is going to become my go to place. The owner Scott spends lots of time making sure the customers are all taken care of and Lana the GM seems like she is a great support for the staff. This restaurant has everything AMAZING FOOD, AWESOME STAFF AND JUST THE PERFECT ATMOSPHERE!! It's finally here! Hesitant to review this awesome place cuz I always want a table with no wait!
But, have to share so others can experience the awesome vibe and damn good food! Started with Headbanger Shrimp, if ya like it saucy, ask for more sauce! Perfectly cooked shrimp.
My TOP pick is the Third Stage Nachos. Lobster, shrimp, avocado, krab and who thought BLUE sesame sauce would be so incredibly tasty!! We shared, even though after one bite, I wanted it all to myself!
Crowd Surfer Roll, my fav, spicy tuna with tuna on top! No jalepeno for me, but no worries for special requests, they aim to please! The Good Times Roll is an amped up Cali roll. Their spicy mayo, eel sauce and chili sauce are so good, maybe they'll bottle it so I can have it at home too!
I tried the Cherry Blossom Lemonade, perfectly sweet, and The Elder, variety of flavors, each sip I noticed something different, a real taste bud experience! Our server Michael was on point, accurate, pleasant and menu knowledgable. Atmosphere was like no other, great music makes everyone happy with lots of energy. So, there ya have it, alil peak at my new spot, enjoy!

Sushi is not fresh. Most people giving reviews for Arizona Japanese restaurants don’t know what good sushi is. Atmosphere is great. I was told my food would be ready in 25 min. It took 40 min for it to be ready.

Stumbled upon this place today and was pleased that I did. I look for good sushi places when I'm working in different states. This place had a great atmosphere with 80s and 90s music videos playing, which makes for a refreshing environment compared to other sushi establishments. I had the pot stickers and three different rolls, and every one of them was delicious. The staff was really friendly as well. If they can keep up the energy and quality I experienced today, I see it becoming a go-to spot for sushi.

Wow!! Amazing food and even better atmosphere. The workers really take care of you. Scott has knocked it out of the park here!! You can tell he has cultivated an atmosphere of making sure the food comes out right, quick and with care. He has probably stopped by our table 3 times and the servers are so attentive. You really have to give this place a shot!!!! And if you have never had steak in a roll, that’s a must try for sure.
