This was my first time here! It was nice inside! Clean and pretty normal for a sushi restaurant. The food was amazing!! The girl at the front did Not want to be there. She also told me my order was 20 minutes behind but then it was ready in about 5 minutes. Wonderful that I didn't have to wait that long but also gave me a heart attack! I was told the order was ready and then it wasn't and I was already running behind on the night. They also don't have any to go spoons for soup. Seems minor but when you order soup to go, sometimes a fork just won't cut it.

One of the best hibachi spots I been to in az!! Customer service was excellent wish they had more cooks I did notice it was only 2 cooks for the whole restaurant so we had to wait but that was totally fine cause the food was worth the wait and service we got! We ordered the shrimp and veggie tempura it was so delicious and fresh ! And I also got the chicken & fried rice it was a very nice portion and very well seasoned to my likings ,our chef Veronica was so nice and an amazing cook. We will definitely be back to visit thank you

I am a business owner who is new to Chandler and just moved here a few days ago. We were waiting 30 minutes past reservation time at a hibachi place down the street and we looked into an alternative spot. The team here got us seated immediately, had food coming out so fast we couldn’t keep up and the gal who made the food was unreal. I don’t know how I would go to another hibachi place moving forward and it would keep up. Everything was perfect from how we were treated when I called to inquire, treated while walking in, the way we were communicated with, to the unreal quality and taste of food Molly and Veronica in particular were irreplaceable. Must return, would recommend and could not praise them enough.

This restaurant is super cute. My boyfriend and I love sushi! We wanted to go on a date and randomly found this place. We were seated right away, the food was truly delicious, and it's got many options to choose from. It was a beautiful date with the man I love. Then, after we paid the bill, we went outside, where he intimately and privately proposed to me. It was absolutely perfect. Very romantic, but also so great that I saw people dining by themselves. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Edited again: took my husband in for his birthday today 12/26/24. Was sat immediately, then promptly ignored. Server walked by multiple times, never asked us for our drinks. We walked out, and was completely ignored by the hostess. I think I’m done giving you guys chances. I’ve walked out of your establishment THREE separate times, and was not acknowledged all 3 times. Shame on me for thinking the management woulda actually staff for a Thursday evening.

Edited: we came back again today 2/14/23, and they’re busy, as usual, it’s Valentine’s Day! We were sat well after another couple who came in after us. Their drink orders were taken and we proceeded to be ignored for 10 minutes. I made eye contact with 3 different waitresses who continued to ignore us. As we left not a single word was said, and that didn’t settle right with me. I went back in to speak with someone about my disappointment and they actively avoided walking back up to me. This was their last chance. I’m so disappointed. I’ve been coming here for 4 years and even continued to come after multiple long waits and poor service. Their food is SO good. I’ll be looking for a new go to sushi spot. I’m just done being disappointed by their cruddy service.

I normally love this place. I’ve been eating here at least once a month for the last two years. They were a rare spot that still sat during the pandemic. We did our best to support. Food is excellent, and the service usually is too. The last two times, it’s seemed they are wickedly understaffed for the amount of people they can seat. I’m okay with a wait, it’s sushi, there’s generally a wait. We’ve been here two HOURS now, an hour and a half just waiting for food. 2 rolls were completely forgotten. What was really wild, I still had a $60 tab. I’ll be giving this place another go eventually, but it’s going to be a while. I’m extremely disappointed.

Been here many times and this place is hit and miss. Lately more miss unfortunately. Understaffed, overworked, I dont know but it’s disappointing. Ive walked out of this place 3 different times now. We come back because the food is good. Dont be mistaken the food is good.

Called in a reservation for a birthday and the person told us we wouldnt need a reservation and didn’t take our name. We arrived to the restaurant, no reservation for us. Our party was ignored for people who walked in after us. Was told multiple times they were going to clear a table for us but it didn’t happen. Very sad.

Man its lucky im so willing to come back and yet again simple things you have no concept of. Why would you put a hot roll next to a cold roll. Pure stupidity. Separate them. Like come on seriously common sense isnt that hard. Exceedingly disappointing.

Adding to this again. Guess what another bad experience for a birthday. Walked in, barely got acknowledged, told to sit where ever we want. We sat and waited. Many glances our way but never got a drink order in. Continued waiting until we heard them apologizing to other customers and noticed 7 tickets hit the only sushi chef. We walked out. Wasn’t acknowledging as we walked past the hostess. You will never see us again.

First time ordering for delivery, As my usual sushi place was closed. The combination of sushi looked good and prices as well. So, I thought I would give it a try. sadly, When I received my order, every single role was unraveling. the roles also seemed smaller Than the pictures. especially that lovely sushi boat They have posted with large rolls. mine were maybe an 1 1/2 in width.

I initially tried the las vegas roll. I was taken aback by the large amount of California roll filling as it only states salmon, cream cheese, crab and avocado. i'm assuming they use the california roll filling, as it's already pre made instead of just breaking up crab mix independently. unfortunately, all I could taste is mayonnaise, which is why I don't usually order the california rolls.

I then tried the shake n bake roll. this comes with assorted fish, crab mix, cream cheese, and a garlic aioli. i wanted to try it, as i've never had a sushi roll with garlic aioli before. that flavoring was good. Unfortunately, the mixed fish was lacking in flavoring. So sadly, the aioli overtook the roll. it just tasted like I was eating that and rice. i've had rolls at other places with mixed fish and you could distinctly make out each flavor but I believe because this role was so small Those bits were small as well, which took away from the pairing of the flavors.

I had other usual rolls, spicy tuna, spicy, yellow tail, philly roll, and so on. those we're good, but nothing to write home about.

I think I would have liked some of the roles better if they weren't so small and weren't falling apart.

Came in as a walk-in for the teppanyaki didn't have a reservation for it but they were still able to get us seated for it. Food was fresh and delicious and our chef Veronica put on a great show for us while cooking our food in front of us. Server Molly was excellent as well. Definitely a new favorite for me and my whole family!

I recently ordered from a sushi spot and requested spicy mayo and tempura flakes on top after frying. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the spicy mayo as requested, and the sushi wasn’t spicy at all. I had to add some jalapeños and my leftover spicy Sriracha mayo to kick up the flavor a bit.

The sushi itself wasn’t bad, but they missed a key part of my order that would have made it much better. They’ll need to pay more attention to these details next time because it definitely affected my overall experience.

Some dishes are good. Some are not. The Teriyaki Chicken, for instance, is the strangest version of that dish I've ever encountered. It was more like a chicken and vegetable stew in a soupy sauce. Very disappointing. The staff there is very personable, though.

Do not order Teppanyaki for more than 8 people unless you want 1 table to be ignored. Completely ruined my sons graduation party by only cooking at 1 table and ignoring the graduate . 1st time and last time eating at this place. Our waitress never came to check on us. They forgot to bring us our sushi roll and still ended up charging us for it. We didn't want to keep waiting for our waitress so we ended up paying for the sushi but left no tip. Also we didn't even finish eating our Teppanyaki because we saw a roach on the wall right beside me. We lost our appetite and just wanted to leave. I can't believe how long we waited for our food, and then we had to flag a different waitress for our bill. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. Just horrible experience. We won't be coming back. Ever heard of pest control, especially when your serving the public food? Time to call channel 3's "Dirty Dining"!

What a delightful little hidden gem! You'd never know 30+ years of incredible food was hiding right here on Alma School off Elliott. The sushi is fresh, and so delicious. I adore their spicy Ghost roll and the John Lemon roll! The servers are fast and friendly. They know the menus and can answer any questions about ingredients. Molly was especially helpful in accommodating my Celiac disease and ensuring everything came out gluten free. I will definitely be coming back, frequently.

I came to this restaurant recently. There is a store next door that sells Kpop merch and I was visiting there with my sister. We decided to grab some food since we were hungry. The first thing you notice when eating at Ninja Japanese Restaurant is the wood doors that are reminiscent of old Asian culture. The restaurant was a bit dark when we came in but our eyes adjusted quickly enough. We were greeted by a lovely server named Shella. The restaurant had about 3 groups of people eating at different places amongst the tables and chairs. I loved the different references to Asian culture thrown throughout the restaurant. As we sat down, our server came over and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We just had waters and she handed us some menus. My sister and I ordered 2 rolls each. I had the Godzilla and a California and she had the Tres Amigos and Jessica Albacore. My sister ordered a Veggie Tempura as well. All the food was fantastic. Some of the best we've had in a long time. Definitely will come here again. Shella, our server, was so helpful and throughout our meal, occasionally would ask us if everything was good and if we needed any drinks. We also noticed on our way out that they had a hibachi. We'll have to try that next time. What a great place for good food. If you haven't tried Ninja Japanese Restaurant, you need to.

I have been coming here for years and it is one of my favorite spots for sushi. Ninja Japanese Restaurant has some of the best rolls for a relatively cheap price. You aren't going to break the bank here. Some of my favorite rolls include the Arizona, Dragon, Tootsie Roll and Godzilla.

The servers are friendly and very helpful, however during the dinner rush, service is much less frequent. The ideal time to come is during lunch. I've had no complaints with service during these hours.

My only real complaint though about the restaurant as a whole would be the atmosphere. I've never been a fan of dimly lit restaurants where I can barely see my food. That is the real thing I would change. Add more light at atmosphere to the restaurant.

Overall, it's a great experience if you love sushi. Even if you love hibachi, they have great chefs that come out and give you a show during your meal.

This place is one of my go-to spots in the valley. The salmon is always super fresh and the Yellowtail is SPECTACULAR. The food is great and the menu has been constant for a long time - which for a creature of habit like me - is a really good thing.

I always love the Spicy Pork Bulgogi Bento box with spicy salmon roll (with the deluxe upgrade). My other go-to is the sashimi plate with a bowl of sushi rice on the side. They cut the fish to a really nice thickness - they dont skimp on the fish, and their rice is almost perfect. The Yellowtail handroll is KILLER - get it with the "Lean Like a Cho Sauce" and it is straight fire. They also have a really good selection of asian beers and their hot sake is alsways so good.

Only critisism is that they are a little slow sometimes - but I tend to go in around dinner rush times - so everyone is there and the staff always hustle to try and keep up. Their staff are friendly and helpful, they know the menu well and are ready to make recommendations if you are new to the cuisine.

Beware the DOUBLE TIP setup on groups of 6+ !! Otherwise a nice little place. I love getting the sushi boat. Service is hit-or-miss because they get so busy. Orders get forgotten. Prices are a little high. Check your bill for accuracy!! 2 of my last 3 visits I was charged for food I didn't get.

Ordered a tea to drink and wanted it to be sweet and when I grab some sugar packets from the table a cockroach jumped out crawled across my hand and down my leg and then I brushed it off and squished it on the floor with my shoe, other than that, food was decent and Service was really good.

If you like commercialized Japanese food, then this place is great. Its extremely similar to Benihana. We ordered from the teppanyaki section of the menu. Sautéd veggies and meat with no seasoning. They do provide sauces which helped the food become edible. The sushi was good, cant complain.

This used to be my favorite sushi place. Had been coming here for over 20 years. I haven't been since before COVID, so was really excited to return. Was so disappointed that they no longer do all you can eat, but I get it. The service was horrible. We missed out on Happy Hour because by the time or server came to take our order, it was past 6 pm, even though we were there 15 minutes prior. Whatever, we ordered off the regular menu. Food was good and fresh. However, no one came back to our table after initial food was brought and we were there for a good 2.5 hours chatting. I actually wanted to order more food, but left there hungry. Very disappointing. I probably wont return. It is not what it used to be.

2nd time at Ninja Japanese Restaurant and I must say both times were so much fun!!!! Food was delicious, meat and veggies fresh and the atmosphere is so fun and welcoming!

Favorite teppanyaki spot in the Valley! I've been going here for years and we've consistently had the best food and service. I highly recommend their sushi and yummy appetizers. They are priced just right for the quality!

Had a reservation at 7:00 on Mother’s Day. Was there by 7. Was seated at 7:20. Didn’t have a cook come up to start serving us until 8:30. This was our first time going here. Probably our last due to the irresponsibility of the restaurant having 6 full tables with only 3 chefs on Mother’s Day.

Make sure to check your receipt before you pay! They like to add hidden charges, such as Auto Gratuity (without mentioning or showing until after paying), they charge extra for fried rice when the menu says it comes with your meal, also they charge different prices than what their menu says for certain items. Owner also refused to talk to our group and/or offer refunds for extra items that were charged for. Would not go back Ever!

Food is always good.. the service is non existent and that's being nice... Had to go to men's room to get a hand towel to wipe my hands on because our so called waitress was to busy talking to the sushi bar to bring me a napkin! And they brought our entree and then our appetizer after we were done .. I didn't know edamame was a desert?

Did Teppanyaki with a group of 12. They were really slow to get our table set up and started. Our server was great. Our cook was timid and not really into what he was doing. Food was fantastic! Other tables had great cooks.

Decided to try something new for my daughters birthday dinner. We had a group of 5 and none of us had ever tried tepanyaki style meals. It was definitely an experience, the hostess at the door was a little off putting but the waiter and chef was great. The waitress walked us through everything and was very helpful. We ended up getting a couple appetizers and sushi platter before our tepanyaki experience. Everything was great and priced fairly. I was honestly expecting to spend a lot more. Will definitely be back.

we keep coming back here over and over. my wife and I love this place. great for just dinner or celebrating a birthday. the teppanyaki is great and very entertaining. and the sushi is BIG. we got the "all you can eat" once and quickly realized we couldn't eat a whole lot because the portions are quite sizeable. for teppanyaki I've had the vegetarian, scallops, chicken, shrimp it's always delicious. there's a reason they've been in business so long, if I ever move its probably the place I'll miss most.

We made a reservation and showed up early, and they were very accommodating. The initial service (waters and such) took a bit but afterwards it was great. I ordered sushi while my friends had teppenyaki. They had all their food and were completely done before I got my food (it took more than 45 mins to get my sushi). I also ordered seaweed salad and somehow didn't get that until my friends were already done. They were very apologetic but their way of fixing it was taking one roll off the bill, which was a bit irritating... Then, the roll they had already decided to take off the bill (and had yet to show up at the table), they asked if i still wanted it... Was not overly impressed with this experience, but the service was fair and the chef was great.

Wow! Every time we come here, we are blown away by the incredible service and talent!

Oscar makes doing what he does look easy, but I know that there is only one place you can get things done that well with such an incredible show!

Molly was also incredible! We had a wonderful conversation and it was nice to relate on some things while she accomplished so much at the same time!

If you are thinking of coming here, stop thinking about it and just do it. It will be well worth it!

I recommend sitting on the grill side for the added show but the sushi side is just as delicious!

Insanely slow service. It took an hour and a half to get water and 1 to an 1 and a half hours to get food. We were a party of 6 and I was the last one served (after 1.5 hours) and all I ordered was 2 hand rolled sushi.

I have been here 3 times now . Each time the service has been very bad, but the sushi has been good. Yesterday was horrible all around and they lost my business forever.
Ordered 3 rolls and nigiri. Noticed 15 minutes later that there were no sushi chefs preparing the food. A few minutes after that 2 chefs come running through the door and start making sushi . They did not wash their hands .
Ordered 3 rolls , received 5 rolls was charged for 4 rolls . None of the sushi we ordered was made correctly,( missing ingredients/ extra ingredients/ wrong sauce / wrong/ no garnish) the rice was not fresh , and the rolls looked thrown together.

Service was quick, it was nice and quiet at 4pm on Monday. The salmon and tuna are incredible! I ordered the hand rolls and they were huge and the sauce and flavor were great! I took a photo of my last one, and it's the last few bites but it was great

We ended up getting up and leaving before we even ordered. We walked in and the girl looked at us like Why are you here. There was six of us and we asked to sit at the grill which once again looked at us like we were crazy. We get seated and mind you there was only people at 2 tables. We say there for a while with out even getting asked
what we would like to drink. My friend went to the bathroom and came back seconds later and said Nope I'm not going in there. We just got up and left

I am new to the area and was referred to this place is a fun experience so I decided to take my family and my in-laws for dinner to celebrate my mother-in-law‘s birthday. I was Ernie from my reservation but I must say when I got there I was surprised by the rudeness of one of the young ladies that worked there. She was rude and disrespectful and didn’t have a problem telling us we were not welcome there however the chef came out and said that he would be more than glad to provide service. From there on Oscar and Angela did a excellent job Accommodating me and my family.
The food was great and although Angela was a new hire she provided excellent service However I don’t think me and my family are going to return their future the hospitality received when we arrived.

Had to wait several minutes while the two waitresses passed by saying nothing. Finally, one of them stopped and asked me if I had been helped. I answered in a calm voice that I had not and had been waiting for several minutes. Then she tried to turn it around and implied it was my fault because I had not flagged anyone down. I then stated that I, slightly annoyed at this point, was doing just that by talking to her. She then, in the rudest voice I have ever heard from a waitress, exclaimed that I had a bad attitude and it was I that was being rude. I was shocked and left without the food so I can't tell you how good it is but I can say, I will never know because I will never go back there.

Would have been nice to come here and have the nice & quite dinner we expected. What we didn't expect was to watch some frat bro get belligerently drunk and not only harass staff but my partner and myself as well. Food here was amazing and would go back if they showed they could properly handle unruly patrons. I can't in good faith recommend this restaurant at this point when staff seems to do so little to prevent these things from occurring. Next time call the Police, it's that simple

We had a family dinner here and got very good service since we were 11 people at a teppanaki table from my elderly grandfather to a toddler. The chef was great and even remembered about an allergy for one of our party! We were a little too squeezed in and so that was tough getting in and out for restroom breaks. They were able to break out bill easily two ways and our waitresses were very honest and accommodating with us. Over all it was a very good experience! The only thing I would recommend is when making a reservation for a large group to let them know it will be a very tight fit so the party knows and can seat accordingly.

The atmosphere is relaxing, and the food is delicious and pretty reasonably priced. My family especially love the bento boxes because they come with so much food for the price! A bunch of tempura, postickers, miso soup, salad, rice and the main protein.

This is the first and last time, me and my family ever eat here. Was the worst dine out experience, the food service was horrible and the food was too salty to even eat. We all waited for over an hour just to receive our meal, except for my husband he never received his meal so he cancelled and left the restaurant. If I could've rated zero stars I would've. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My husband and I have been coming here for many years to where we were known as regulars especially to one of the wait staff that knew us from getting married to the birth of our 2 sons. We went a few weeks ago for lunch and the service was horrible. Our waitress sat us down and took 10min to get our drink order, I asked for sweetener twice for my tea and she didn’t bring it till our food arrived and when I asked her a third time she brought it like she was doing a favor. Then she never checked on us for drink refills or anything just to bring us our bill. Might I add it was just myself my husband and two babies, and 1 other table. We only return because the food is good but we hesitate going because of the service. Which is very sad because we’ve always loved this place.
