I love this place. Every time I come to Mobile I always eat here. The staff is so nice and make you feel like a regular. The vibe of the place is is perfect. The food is outstanding, best Rock-n-roll sushi i have ever eaten at. And as a business owner myself customer service is huge. And the lady making the rolls stuck up conversation and was so down to earth and I was thinking they are blessed to have her. She is amazing with customers. Come to find out she was the owner. That speaks volume to me. She was busting it just as hard as everyone else. Hands down great experience!!! I wish I could give you 10 stars

Literally everything about our experience was incredible!! Our server was as country as a biscuit and a low-key comedian!!! The food, the music, the environment, EVERYTHING was pretty dang perfect!! We will 100% be back here the next time we visit Mobile!

I really had the intention on getting some sushi. After all Rock N Roll Sushi is a sushi restaurant. To be completely transparent I don’t eat raw sushi. My sushi tastes are very elementary and cooked. I believe the first time I came here I had the spicy crawfish roll. My initial thought was to order the spicy crawfish roll and the egg rolls. Then the eel roll caught my attention. At some some point I thought for sure I was going with the shrimp tempura roll. Then I wandered off the classic menu and went to the starter menu. I was really digging the headbangers shrimp until a few seconds later. I decided to make a gut call for the stage divers. I wasn’t exactly sure why because earlier in day I decided I had enough chicken for the day. I did keep my earlier egg roll inclination as well.
As usual I ordered online. The wait time was about 20 minutes. I arrived to pick up my food. The restaurant wasn’t packed but had a nice amount of patrons dining in. Since I made it to restaurant before approximate wait time I had couple of minutes before my pickup was ready. I was out of there in no time.
When I returned home I was starving. I opened the plates and my food looked amazing. I tried the egg rolls first and they tasted like some of the best prepared egg rolls I had ever had. They were fried to perfection. They came with a chili sauce that was so good. The stage divers were next. I was absolutely blown away with the flavor of these chicken bites. They were so tender and seasoned well. The stage divers came with the same chili sauce that was paired with the egg rolls. A ginger flavored sauce also accompanied it. As stated before I loved the chili sauce. I didn’t love it but it wasn’t awful. I really loved the meal as a whole. If you’re not totally into the sushi scene this place has some enjoyable options to choose from. I give this experience 5 stars.

I've ordered from this store for years and it's always been good except tonight. It was beyond terrible. I spent almost $100 for rolls that were barely rolled, just in pieces everywhere, and not much meat if any in the rolls. I added cream cheese to my rolls, and you couldn't even tell.

This was awful, and it was so much money for almost absolutely nothing. We used door dash, so we didn't see what the order looked like until we got here.

This seemed like intentional laziness. I spend allot of money tonight to be very disappointed.

By far worst sushi place in the Mobile area. Ordered Rainbow roll and got mostly a rice roll, no yellow tail as listed on menu and very messily made. Rolls were messed up that everyone got, we ordered 8 rolls for 3 people at around $16 each. Sushi is made but sits forever on the counter. Rolls that are meant to be server hot/warm at other RNR's are instead cold. Had 2 servers that were more interested in chatting with friends than serving customers. Sushi chef kept referring the menu how to make rolls, NOT Qualified to make sushi to RNR stanadard. They charged a convenience free for a table with 3 people of 3.75%, it's my understanding that this is only supposed to apply to a party of 8 or more in AL. Wait time after ordering with only a few tables is LONG. RNR should remove name and fire all. AVOID!!!!!

Called in a to go order at 1:53 and the girl told me 15 minutes- I get to the place at 1 and my food was not ready and they in fact didn’t start making it till after I told them I was there for my order. The sushi roll I got tastes horrible and the miso soup was thrown together. Will not go back. Took 40 minutes to make 1 roll and 1 little bowl of miso soup.

I usually love the food from here but this time it was God awful!!!! The rice was mixed all together with the veggies and meat whereas it's usually separate. My reggae roll hardly had any spicy mayo. The so called jelepeno poppers didn't have any taste to them. I'm so disappointed in Rock N Roll this time.

The most pitiful sushi I’ve ever seen. Barely any sauce or wasabi. The staff was too busy in personal conversations to even attempt to help me. Then the guy who finally did come out tried to tell me that my order was to eat in the restaurant when I called the order in and specifically asked when it would be ready to PICK UP bc I was at work only on lunch break. He actually argued with me about it! HORRIBLE experience AND food

I would have to give this RnR 4 stars! I went Wednesday and the food was absolutely amazing. I am also vegetarian and my waitress Olivia was very helpful with finding food to accommodate me!! It’s very hard finding restaurants in the area that are considerate when it comes to their costumers food preferences.

Yesterday at lunch I walked in, the waiter approached me and asked how are you doing today? I said I'm good how are you? Then he begins to tell me he's not well because he woke to find out he'd been robbed! Someone took $400 out of his wallet while he was sleeping, and it's all the money he had to his name. I said I'm sorry and I know how you feel, I've dealt with a lot more than that... I felt like I was getting a sob story for a better tip! Then he brings out my water with his hand covering the top all over my ice and just plops it down on the table spilling water, 10 minutes later without even walking all the way up to my table, he reaches around meand plops down my roll. I said so is my miso soup not ready yet? All I ordered was 2 items, and he forgot the soup... My roll was $12.95, add soup and a water and it was $20.... The tiny bowl of soup was gone in 4 slurps and it cost $4... I don't like your American rolls either, thai fusion was closed though, then your service was horrible and the place was empty. He got mad at an old lady that came in after me, because she picked up a menu before she sat down... so she said I'll just sit at the bar then, and took her menu away and said they have a menu there and was very rude about it. This guy doesn't want to be or need to be any kind of server, nor should he be in the food industry period, I didn't finish my roll or take it with me because I was disgusted by his fingerprints left at the top rim of my glass

The food is good, but this location is so money hungry they charge so much extra in fees. Take out fees, no cash fees. It's just more worth it to go all the way to the Hillcrest/Airport location because they don't charge those fees, plus they often have specials so you save more money to buy more food. We always spend at least $45-55 but we get so much more food from the other location for that price.

We come to this location frequently and always have great food and service. However, tonight was a different experience. Apps were good. Sushi was just ok. I ordered the groupie roll and it was missing half the ingredients, was not cut all the way into individual pieces, and the avocado was not ripe at all (it was very hard). It just wasn’t the same. After we paid, our server took her card reader and walked off. No “thank you” or “have a good night.” Nothing. And lastly, the fruit flies. At least 3 were swarming our table the entire visit. Hoping this was just an off night and not becoming a regular thing.

Fun atmosphere and great staff. This isn't truly a full sushi type place though, fyi. If you're looking for a big assortment or options for sashimi this shouldn't be your choice. However, their rolls were great and the beer selection is good too. On our most recent trip there was a mix up with our order on 2 separate occasions. Even though it was frustrating, our waitress was helpful in getting the problems taken care of.

I never rate a bad experience but this was pure bad business. I ordered the Rainbow Roll @ 8:00 PM, closing time was 9:00 but it was slow. The roll I ordered was supposed to have raw Tuna, Salmon & Yellowtail. I received 2 pieces of Yellowtail, 2 pieces of “smoked Salmon“ & nothing but Avocado on the remaining pieces. No tolerance for misrepresentation or laziness, if you’ve already broken down your sushi bar, tell the customer it’s not available, will not be back. The bartender was great btw!, not his fault. I spent 12 years in the fresh fish business & eat sushi a few times a week, just not acceptable☹️

Recently went to this location as I had previously with hopes that the sushi improved this time. Unfortunately the portion sizes appeared to be getting smaller while the price of what you get increases. They also force you to tip on to go orders because staff must be underpaid if they have to force gratuity on customers now. I'm not saying that I would not have tipped but the fact that you are not given the option does not sit right with me. I will definitely not be returning to this location. Happy Sushi may cost more but the food taste way better than here and the portion sizes are fitting for what is charged.

I'm down here on vacation. The roll I ordered formerly known as the Jimmy Hendrix now the Experience used to be my go to roll. I waited a good while and debated on leaving but decided to be polite and stayed.
I was given a roll with strips of frozen mango served across the roll, nothing like I remember.
I hardly ever write reviews. I would've kept it to myself and never go to this RNRsushi location again but due to the fact that I'm feeling sick at this time I'm rather salty.
Looking back the Confucius sticker on the bar was in bad taste much like the sushi. I still tipped but would've tipped better if I was treated better.

Went in to place a to go order at 8:38 since they close at 9:00. I was told "last call" is at 8:30. They would not take a to go order. Went there Saturday and dined in with my sister. It was super slow and when I went to pay for the food. The waitress came over while I was writing the tip and turned back around and made a snooty face to the person working in the back and told them how much I tipped. Which in my opinion was enough of a tip.

Served 2 rolls that have avocado in them...with little to no avocado in most of it. The minuscule amount of avacado was brown, Cucumber was not fresh, with tough chewy peel & seaweed. Everything was dried out & flavorless. If you are out of ingredients, just tell people don't serve them nasty sushi. Highly disappointed.

My food was finally served when my husband was 98% done so I had to get mine to go. Had the waitress checked back once this could have been avoided. They gave a measly 10% discount for our troubles. My husband could not enjoy his dinner and I had no dinner. Husband said he would have given 5 stars for the sushi. With all the competition locally with the plethora of restaurants this was a stupid, lazy mistake that cost this business customers.

Hadn't been to this location in Mobile yet, so thought I'd try it out. SO GLAD I DID!! Super friendly staff and the food was even better. I had the Eggrolls with Sweet Chili sauce and a Tour Bus. They were bangin'!! Morgan my server was so nice and made me feel like I was the King of Rock n Roll!! Will definitely come back to this location and recommend to anyone in the area!!

I always been a customer of rock n roll sushi, but this location is horrible! The most disgusting food I have had today! The food was looking different, tasting way different than any other locations!
The twisted tuna was very small and looking funny, very little and small avocado around it not as usual and the tuna flavor was awful. The fish quality that are using is very poor and taste like dog food, not good to eat and will cause you stomach issue. The rainbow roll is one of my favorite roll whenever I go but today had the most horrible sushi there and the rainbow roll they made me was never the one I’m used to it. Rice was hard kinda old. Will never come back again

Absolutely disgusting and not like the other establishments. The food was funny tasting but I thought nothing of it and now I am suffering from intense stomach pain and that is not ok. Also the food is not appetizing look-wise either, it looks like someone just started working there with no experience whatsoever. I would not recommend at all unless you want to down a couple shots of Peptobismol👎.

Overpriced poor quality. Came here after reading the reviews but if you actually think this place has good sushi you've never had good sushi. This place is horrible.

In response to the owners question. As I said in my review. The quality was very poor and the price was very high. Please take the time to train your people on how to make sushi properly. It was as if some teenage kids that watch the couple YouTube videos made my sushi. Go to a real sushi restaurant watch how they make it get some training and then go back and try it again. And start with quality fish. Learn how to cut and serve it properly. If you really want to improve your restaurant I cannot stress the importance of quality ingredients.

The cook used way too much soy sauce. The food was drenched with it and made everything so salty we could only eat a few bites.

Not very friendly to people you try to ask questions and get eye rolling and attitude I pay for my food to go and than looked at the receipt because it seems a little more than it should and they added there own gratuity to the order I asked why the charge was put on there I was told that is a fee for to go orders i would not mind it but you need to inform customers that they will be charged a fee to order to go There are no signs anywhere posted that says you will be charged a fee if you order to go that is false advertisement to charge somebody extra and they are not aware

First time eating sushi…placed a to go order; said it would be ready in 20 minutes. We waited in the car for 20 minutes once we arrived and then waited another 45 minutes inside waiting on our order. We spent a little more than $150; I wanted to try it all since it was my first sushi experience. I was so disappointed with this food. I was truly embarrassed for the owners of this establishment. My son, who has eaten there several times, says it’s usually somewhat better than the food we got last night. Do not order fried rice!!! Go home and steam you some rice, add about a dozen pieces of frozen small chunked carrots and a dozen frozen peas…add a little
orange food coloring and you have Rock n Roll Sushi’s fried rice. Anyways we wasted $150 last night on this nasty bland pungent substance they call food AKA: possibly sushi???

Been to this location twice in 2 weeks. Ordered online the first and it said food would be ready in 20 minutes, stating the time. My husband went to pick it up, and it took 35 minutes to get, and there were only two couples there in the restaurant. Went again and ordered in the restaurant. We were told it would take 30 minutes for our order because we were taking it home to eat. There were about 5 people in there eating. 45 minutes later and no order. I’m not sure who owns that restaurant, but we won’t be going back again. I realize businesses are still short of help, but when you can’t get an order for 2 people in 45 minutes, there’s a problem.

It was a mad house at 8 pm on a sunday. Me and my ole lady had good service and good food albeit a little expensive. We were the lucky ones. You could tell the staff was irritated with the situation. I think they had a lot of call in orders and were not properly staffed for it. All i heard for most of the night was the poor lady apologizing on the phone behind the bar. Despite all that we had a pleasurable meal and always enjoy the sushi.

Sushi was ok. The specialty rolls are fresh. If you get a standard like California or spicy tuna the rice is cold and hard. Almost like it is premade and refrigerated.
They do a weird thing and add your beverages after they swipe your credit card. Not sure I understand why.
You have to ask for wasabi and ginger. Again outside the norm
For a sushi place.

Mediocre experience every time we have ordered from here. Most recently I placed a large to go order for a birthday party and when arriving to pick it up was informed the order had not been started because of the cost of the order. Their online order system does not allow for pre-paying -- the only option is to pay when picking up. The host/server told me she was going to call about not starting the order until it had been paid for but that she couldn't find my phone number (even though it is a required field when placing an online order and appears directly below my name on the receipt/order confirmation). Twenty minutes into waiting for the order I was told that they didn't know how to make one of the items ordered because it is not on their menu (even though it IS on their online takeout menu for this specific location and is also easy to Google how to make?). The only positive is the location, but I should have just spent the extra time driving to a better franchise rather than sitting 35+ minutes in the restaurant waiting for a to go order that didn't include everything I paid for.

I cannot respond to the owner's response to my review so ETA: I did not receive the Sashimi Tobikko (4 pcs sliced cucumber topped with tobiko), which was the item the staff did not know how to make. I was offered a side of tobiko for my order instead and when I got to my destination was surprised to see how little was provided. I suppose a half ounce to-go serving of tobiko is one way of "finding out how to make it." I should have included that information in my original review and in retrospect should have requested a refund for the item.

To go order with some of the worst cut tuna I’ve ever seen… rice was regular white rice with no vinegar added as well.

Ehh I guess it depends on the cook. Other locations gives you better sushi and bigger sizes. This place is a joke. Whoever made my sushi needs to find another gig or practice more.

Stopped by for a quick dinner. The server was nice ( didn't introduce herself). Ordered an appetizer that came AFTER my sushi. The fried roll was bland and greasy. Had to ask for soy sauce. Seems like the staff was more interested in chatting rather than taking care of the customer. Money not well spent. This is my final visit here.

They were struggling a bit the other day. Largely a new staff it appeared, so please be patient with them. The food was still of good quality.

Been coming here past few weeks and everything has been wonderful but tonight we had Jessica as our server. she went above and beyond!!! & whoever was in the kitchen tonight made the best chicken teriyaki since I’ve been coming.

Great place to grab a quick lunch, staff is on point and friendly. Sushi is always a treat but their rolls are fantastic. Don’t hesitate to give them a try.

Terrible customer service! Our waitress was completely devoid of personality. My husband ordered an appetizer platter and rice, I ordered sushi. She brought my sushi. Then 15 minutes later brought his rice, then she clocked out! The next waitress brought the appetizer plate 20 minutes later, only after we asked for it and after it had been sitting on the counter for God knows how long! It was cold and oily! Drinks were great, but we won’t come back! Sadly disappointed!

Read the other poor reviews and you will see he common experiences. I came in shortly after 11am on Sunday. We were the first and only customers. 10 minutes before we were acknowledged, 45 mins to get 2 Sushi rolls. Had to ask for napkins, soy sauce, and soy sauce dishes after food was brought. 2 Waitresses total and the worst you could imagine. The entire staff was in doorway of kitchen and behind sushi bar socializing and 1 of them had their preschool aged child sitting at the sushi bar. They are in no hurry to take your order or make your food but as soon as you lay that card down for payment, they come running. This place is a joke.

We came in for supper on Tuesday eve for my wife's birthday and decided we won't give another chance. This will have been our second visit. Our waitress could not have been more unfriendly and without personality this night. She was so soft spoken it was hard to hear but thats not the issue. My wife asked for a coke since her tea wasn't good to her and we had to ask 3 more times to get the tea sent to us. Mind you there was only 1 other table sat in that night. It took close to 30 min to get the apps and once we did they was dripping grease so we sent them back. Now after a hour food started to come out. I did not receive my soup or salad, I asked multiple times for a refill on my tea as well as my daughter never to receive them. My food had absolutely no flavor and she "forgot" to order one of the 2 sushi rolls. All the complaints and issue yet it still cost almost $90 for this meal.

I visit Rock and Roll Sushi in Tillman’s Corner frequently as they have always been very attentive and enjoyable to be around. Torrie, Gigi, Morgan and Kaley always greet with a smile even when they are busy! The atmosphere is very casual and fun with all of the girls being very knowledgeable about their menu. RnR has quickly become one of my favorite stops for lunch or dinner creating a fun refreshing place to eat, keep up the atmosphere ladies!!

Was down here for the weekend stop in to eat because Rock N Roll is one of my favorite places to eat. The awful customer service that I have had in a very long time. Our server was not friendly at all I ask for forks and she came and just laid them on the table how would she feel to have someone lay forks on the table for her to eat with. Then when our sushi came out they put both of our orders on the same plate. And no napkins or soy sauce was bought to the table I got up and got them for us and never did our server come back and ask if we needed anything else. And when we was leaving one of the girls said I am sorry she is new I hope she gets better if she wants to make it in this world my daughter is a server and she lives for her tips.

Me and my family just visited this place. The sushi was delicious. The habachi was very good.. The customer service was excellent! Lily was our host and she was sooo knowledgeable and very kind! Wonderful smile and just all around great person. Thank you so much Lily!! This place is the bomb!!

This place Is awful!! We waited over 30 minutes just to order our food and another 45 minutes to get it and we still didn’t get all of the food that we ordered. While we were waiting to order they sold over 15 to go orders. It seems that your sit down people should have priority or hire MORE WORKERS to cover it all. I WILL NOT BE BACK!! And I will NOT RECOMMEND anyone to eat there.

Can't get service here. "Please wait to be seated" but they'll ignore you until you leave...

Update: I've came here three times in total. The first time, they literally ignored me until I left hence the original post. The second time, we were sat but were forgot about or avoided on purpose. We were there for 30ish minutes and only spoke to the person who sat us. The third time, we still waited about 30 minutes after being seated. We waited about 30 more minutes for our waitress to bring us the wrong food. After we picked at it and noticed it wasn't our food, SHE TOOK IT BACK AND GAVE IT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE THAT ORDERED IT IN THE MIDST OF COVID SEASON!

We will never return to this location!

Always long waits on food and service. Been like this sence they opened. We've given them several trys and they keep promising they will do better. (NOT!) My daughter and friends go here and have bragged about them, but when we go and even with them as a group. It's the same way. Service slow food is so so compared to other Rock n Roll restaurants. Go at your own risk. We will go to other Rock n Roll restaurants before we will go to this one. What sucks is we live less than ten minutes away from this store.

Spicy tuna roll tasted refrigerated, manger told me that they get the sushi fillings premade and jus roll them in house. Awesome atmosphere, well below sub par sushi.

Sushi was delicious.. Fresh and perfectly made... I recommend going there because of the atmosphere care while preparing food there were sanitation areas at the front and the customer service at the front register was outstanding and she was a professional from start to finish...
